  1. have you tried QFM pads Gary?? There is a group buy going for ADR approved braided lines and QFM pads, $330 or something like that, seemed like a real good deal but haven't heard of QFM before....
  2. very common issue. 99% one or more of your coilpacks are on the blink. Good time to upgrade!! ~500'ish for splitfires, solve the problem indefinitely not a big issue and very easy fix
  3. so who's done the whole hog and gone LINES and PADS (k500) on a GTT??
  4. pm sent, time for some shocks
  5. gotta compare apples with apples. It's GTR vs 911 Turbo (or even a base 911 really) and GTR V-Spec vs GT2/3, etc... the GT2 had already recorded a quicker time around the Ring a while ago, they've just gone around again for shits and giggles. Porsche had already posted a GT2 time before the GTR went around. Who cares really, the luxo GTR is a few seconds off in full trim on a damp track, with a $220-$250k V-Spec version to come which will smack the worried grin off Porsche's faces again and Porsche would not give a shit about not selling their GT2's as quick as Nissan's GTR... Porsche aren't trying to knock off Toyota in sales volume stakes
  6. bugger!! not sure if i can afford to do both this one and the Jan 19th one i think i would prefer to do this one... although the Jan 19th one would probably be more beneficially from a car control point of view.... decisions, decisions......

    My New Car!

Andru, a lot of people, especially in HK, can't be f*cked mucking around with the GTR bumper and just bolt it straight up and just squeeze it on there, but always looks weird.... you can cut it in half, narrow it, and then plastic weld back together (in theory) there-by having the bumper fit the guards better, but i've never "knowingly" seen a GTT with that done. If it it has the whole lower lip/spoiler section AND fit well at the guards, does kinda tend to mean it's East bear.... too hard to tell without looking at it in the flesh

    My New Car!

sure it's OEM front bar? fits well at the ends (where it usually overhangs) could be East Bear?
  9. you can forget option one, don't just lower via springs alone. bad idea... it's been talked about in this thread
  10. sorry to be the dude with the bad news but the front is like $2k, and the rest of the rear bar, side skirts, and lower extensions will be near enough to high $2k, close to $3k
  11. C-Red will be your one-stop shop for all that, just let them get back to you. Otherwise you would have to pay for PowerPlay to ship the stuff over from Sydney, makes no sense when you got options in your home state... do you know what $$ you're looking at for all that mate?
  12. didn't get a 4 dr white 34 did ya Ferah?
  13. you can import cars not sold here as long as they are on the SEVS list (meet certain requirements, basically, power/weight ratio) and they weren't sold here AT THE SAME TIME. The Rx-7, S15 were both sold here but can also be imported as long as you choose a year that they weren't here OFFICIALLY. As we won't be getting the GTR until 2009, that leaves any 07/08 GTR eligible for import... BUT Nissan OZ seem to be making quite sure there is not going to be a market for this car, so don't expect any "grey" GTR's to make it here for road use
  14. no one has compliance for them (one of many reasons it can't be rego'd at the moment)
  15. Nissan OZ was charging $3.4k PER RIM for the 17" R33 rims??????!!!?? ahhh.... what the??? The rim prices (well the japanese prices) seem ok considering they are 20" rims... but if Nissan OZ was pushing 17" rims for $3.4k i HATE to think what they'll ask for 20" rims??
  16. you bought from an import yard????? i'm assuming both are manuals? Do you keep your Xenon's?
  17. looks like someone knows what they're doing I can never take good shots of my car, but you got some great ones there. Nice angles
  18. yep, they're the ones... didn't want to mention names and give people ideas nah, i'm sure they ain't that bad....
  19. on a car like that i can only imagine they would be GEUNINE Work Equip rims... don't know the exact model... knock offs are made of them, heavy and crap
  20. Are you saying OZ alone has made 2900 pre-orders???!! I'm 99% sure the article was JUST referring to domestic orders, and that's it.
  21. i just put a second layer of OCW on the car last night, and it's sunny here so i'll take some pics for ya. My car is GV1 or whatever the nissan paint code is for 'Black Pearl' How long ago was the car resprayed? Got any pics??
  22. really?? that's funny because the threads i found on other forums, autopia i think, had a 5SS rep saying it can be layered with any wax?? Maybe you're getting confused with the fact you can't layer 5SS itself? What i was referring to before about resprays and carnauba's is that a fresh respray needs to cure/breathe. A carnauba can do this, a sealant (like 5SS) can't. BUT ~2-3 months after the fresh paint, feel free to do whatever. You can go just straight sealant, or sealant and wax, or just wax. Depends how fussy you are with swirls/scratches, but some products contain fillers of sorts. Whilst not really desirable as they mute the metallic a bit, products like Zaino's Z5 can help with light swirls/scratches, whilst giving you shine and protection. Best bet would be get it professional done once off, so they'll clay, polish, etc. If you're going to do 5SS, either ask them to do it, or just ask them to detail the car, but not use any LSP (last step product). That way, they give the car back to you, and you can try the 5SS steps. You environment sounds pretty harsh, so for a black car that seems to be getting some harsh treatment from the locals, definitely go with a sealant first. Give 5SS a shot, and then i reckon layer a shit load of something on top. I'd still go OCW for it's ease of use and cheapness. So after applying 5SS, you can then after every wash after, layer some OCW ontop and get maybe a good 4-5 layers going. Should be ample protection for you car.
  23. chak8080 one thing to keep in mind though is that the final result is 99% prep. The wax will not do everything on it's own... you need to wash, clay, wash, polish, wash, paint cleanse (preferably if using a high-end wax, but 5SS has some sort of cleansing stage) THEN wax. It's the prep before hand which will give you the results you're looking for. Given the environment you're talking about, you're best off with a sealant, then layer a wax on top. If you're keen, give 5SS a go and then layer a carnauba ontop, best of both worlds
  24. which zymol? Zymol has a lot of diff waxes, and alot of different prices too Royale is the $18k wax
