^ it's in the thread somewhere. Like soft settings front, stiff settings rear = tail happy. that's a very bad explanation, but it's the thread somewhere what settings = what driving characteristics. Some that help turn-in etc... just use the search function for this thread with "swaybar" or something

Twin Turbo Straight Six Cylinder Engine
SS8_Gohan replied to Forged's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Rabid i see you step around my posts... anyway... as i've said before, you would NOT know these cars are turbo. There is just NO lag, technically speaking there is always lag, but there is no "apparent" lag to the driver, it's just instant fun. The gearbox is killer too. No way i could ever shift as fast in my R34. Despite my R34 being more powerful, dad's 335i owns my car. Maybe not in a dead straight line, but over a track with turns i'd have no hope. -
how do you get to drive??? 28... lucky number, nice date for it
-
my favourite i'd mount them straight though anyone know the exact model of these Blitz guages?

hahaha, kids these days "........so I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time..."

Twin Turbo Straight Six Cylinder Engine
SS8_Gohan replied to Forged's topic in General Automotive Discussion
mate, i was NEVER under the impression you thought the LSI should be engine of the year, or that it's better than the twin turb BM motor, maybe you should read my post more clearly. Never implied that either. What i was making a point of was that you were claiming certain things about reliability being better than Euro equivalents... well, as proven here in Australia by the Holden V8's, this is FAR from the case. Euro V8 engines, and Euro engines have been more reliable. So no, it was incorrect for you to say that Audi, BM, etc... had reliability issues, despite have all the "technogizmo's". Especially with this brand new, not race proven (until now) BM engine winning the production enduro race around Bathurst. And yes, it is the Euro manufacturers who dominate Le Mans. But making that point is ridiculous because those cars are so far from factory, it's not even worthing comparing. Where as the Bathurst one is a very unbiased indicator as they are basically cars rolled off the factory floor. Giving everyone a MUCH better idea of reliability. no one is under the illusion the RB's can compare to the new BM engine. In fact, again, if you look at my previous post, i said "the new BM engine DESTORYS my NEO RB25" - i kinda know this, as i drive the new 335i a fair bit, it's my dad's car well yes... and your point???? My point was that anyone can add technology, and most manufacturers make the most of what's available, but why are US/Oz 6litre V8's struggling to make 300kw's, where BM can get same or MORE from 4 litres??. And you counter that with, anyone can add more displacement?? No sh*t anyone can, but most the world decide to get more from less, and build their engines SMARTER, rather than bigger. My big post was a combo of replies from DIFFERENT people too, if you cared to read it carefully -

reliability?? you're kidding right? This 335i engine, the bimmer, just won an 12 enduro production car race at Bathurst. Spanking new car, not even an LCI update yet, so still teething, and yet, in production form, it beat "simple" V8's and "high-tech" japanese engines a like. If 12 hours of RACING around Bathurst isn't a testament to reliability, i don't know what is. These cars AREN'T highly modified, i don't know the exact rules but the modifications allowed is extremely limited as it's meant to be a good comparo for "production" cars. On the other hand, the "simple" V8's here have had some quite MAJOR reliability issues. The 5.7l V8's. Not the strongest point to make there. The technology isn't only available to Japan and Germany, and restricted to the yanks and aussies. ANYONE can use whatever is available. If BMW can get 310kw's out of a 4litre V8, and Holden here can't even manage that out of 6litres, what does that tell you? It was the aussie big litre V8's that were having the reliability issues here, not the BMW or Merc V8's. I think it's laughable given the HUGE displacement of some of the GM V8's, and their respective power outputs... and then try and say, oh, we'll get there when the technology is added. Do they just plan to be 5 years behind on every single engine release?? No one is stopping them from using ANY of the technology available. All they seem intent on doing is increasing the displacement?? seems pretty backwards to me... -
maybe you missed my interweb needs to work on it's transference of sarcasm

meh, come on! which Regiment do you think i'm referring to! The Regiment.... but if 4RAR aren't there, i doubt the other guys would be either. Probably spread a little thin at the moment for wargames...

Vic Roads/cops: !black Window Tint Must Read!
SS8_Gohan replied to _handbrakies_ _ _'s topic in Victoria
anyone know about about this darker but legal tint?? my rear quarters say 'UV Cut glass' so i don't know if the glass itself is dark, or if there is a tint on it?? -
you'd hope not, because he seems pretty bent on killing himself and taking people with him in the process. my goodness, 200k's on your own is lunacy... but with your g/f????

guy just near greville st owns one of those Aston martins, got that cool little row of LED's in the headlights... mean ass car. agree, you look very comfortable with the job James so has Final Inspection become the offical P1 detailer yet?

hooray!! 18 yr old in R32 GTR caught doing 200km/hr on wellington rd.. excuse? "i was tired, and didn't realise what speed i was doing" hmm... original http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,21841127-2,00.html

by "here" i'm guessing he meant, here in australia, at the airport. i don't think here is hong kong so, no.
-
yes, Enoteca is in the soho area... have to use a heap of travelators!
-
don't think so my goodness, if we had an MTR equivalent train network, my R34 would be doing a lot less km's. MTR is just stunning in it's efficiency, and doesn't cost the earth either! Get your f*cking act together Connex/Bracksie! Tsim Sha Tsui was great for shopping. If you go during chinese new year even all the 'branded' stuff is quite cheap relatively. Mongkok has ALL the sneakers you could possibly want if you're into that sort of thing. Ocean World has Pandas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! worth the price of admission alone!! Repulse Bay is a really nice spot. Even if the markets aren't your thing, the location of the Stanley Market is really nice, down on the water.

just adj. sway bars at the moment. Didn't realise that getting the bilsteins with stock springs was an option?? i would thought you get them with the whiteline springs, or not get them at all.... interesting. having this FULL kit is very high priority on my modifying list, but don't really have the cash to do all in one hit. But am keen doing it little by little, looks like the bilsteins may be next Becuase i know i can't do the "i want lower springs" without shocks so SK recommended this option, sway bars and shocks? or was it something you specifically wanted to go for?

kangaroo? sorry to hear about the crash mate. I hope you have insurance?? something i should have invested in when my car was un-rego'd for months, a battery charger. Apparently only $60 or something, but yeah, if your car is sitting around for a while, chances are the battery will go flat. Buy one of those battery chargers, leave it hooked up to the car the night before you need to move it, and you won't have to worry about manouvering a dead car to get it jumped started where bouts was the accident?
