How Accurate Is The R34 Factory Boost Guage?
SS8_Gohan replied to SS8_Gohan's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
not worried about the T.T. mbc. If my full 3" exhaust has upped the boost to 10psi, then the mbc can get rid of the two-stage factory boost. Still a plus. Hmmm... how much are we looking at for a decent boost guage? Is the nismo factory option better? Where exactly would you put it? I've always been partial to the A-Pillar guage setup, not sure if it's legal though... thanks for the replies guys! it seems i might not be making as much boost as the guage is telling me -
Hi peeps, I put in a full 3" exhaust from the turbo back a few months ago, and also want to put in my turbotech manual boost controller, but i don't want to have it set wrong and go and destroy the fragile 34 turbo At the moment, on full boost, it seems to be a bit above the second last mark on the stock boost guage. So going from the marks, halfway is 0psi, all the way at the top is 14 (is that 1kg?) and 3/4 would be 7psi?. I want to set the boost controller at 10psi, seems to be a safe level for the R34 turbo's, but it "seems" like the boost is already that high? Ie, a little past the 3/4 mark, or about 9-10psi. Can i trust the stock boost guage? For the R34 owners out there who haven't done any mods to affect boost (ha!) what does your boost guage show on full boost? Or does anyone remember what it showed? If i need an after-market one, is the best place to put it just where the stock one is? Or is that a bitch to do? Keen to put the the controller in to get rid of the two-stage boost, and possibly up the boost a bit if it isn't at 10psi, but i don't know if i can trust the stock guage. cheers, daniel

damn secrets sounds good Gary. Well, if i were to get the adjustable stabiliser bars, i'm not in any danger of that part being modified anytime soon am i? I'd rather wait if you're going to change that part of the kit in the next few months. Eventually, i hope to put together the WHOLE kit, but will have to do it bit by bit at this stage. Stabiliser bars being the most obvious starting point. Is there any dramas just getting the stabiliser bars on their own? do i need to buy any of the other parts at the same time? cheers for the quick reply chinny

Fs: R34 Coil Packs
SS8_Gohan replied to SS8_Gohan's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
how long's a piece of string ok. Well, car came from japan with 48,000km's on the clock. Condition of body, steering wheel, gear knob, seats, etc... "seemed" to indicate that this was likely. And despite the all too common, R34 coil pack issue, the car hasn't had any other dramas. The car also has had a respray about 5 months ago. All original panels, one of the straightest R34's that workshop had seen. Soooo... i'm tending to believe the km's from Japan. I also added another 1,000km's (trip from syd to melb) onto the 48K when i picked the car up from the compliance workshop in Sydney. So the coils did 49,000km's i guess, and very little down here in melb because i couldn't register the car for aaaages (long story). I had swapped over to split fires before i even rego'd the car. So in total, a little less than 50,000km's i guess. At least one would need some DIY attention. -
What Power Do I Expect To Make?

there was a third series for GTR's, not sure if it was across the range, probably not. But there were S3 R33 GTR's, factory standard Xenons, red stitching on the inside, and some other changes that i never remember.
-
since when did S2 R33's have xenon's? i thought only S3 R33 GTR's had Xenon's from factory

Hi SK, just wondering, with your recent work on the S13-S15 suspension kits, a few different brands/products... is there anything that you'll change with some of the existing Skyline kits? Anything you've found to work better, etc? I read the big review one guy with an S15 did on his kit, some of the Noltec stuff sounded interesting. Just wondering if there is any sort of carry-over knowledge that will change the Skyline kits? cheers, daniel EDIT: did the sway bars in this kit have extra holes drilled or something? i thought i remember reading that these bars weren't quite off-the-shelf whiteline ones, but i can't remember if it related to this kit...

Fs: R34 Coil Packs
SS8_Gohan replied to SS8_Gohan's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Cheers mate Well there you go R34 and Series 2 R33 owners, these are the coil packs for you! /inset Uncle Sam picture -
Hi y'all Got some splitfires in my 34, so don't need these anymore. I was having the all-to-common R34 coil pack issues. I'm presuming it was just one that was on the blink. I couldn't see/find any hairline cracks. I suppose if you know electronics at all, you might be able to test these somehow? I know with the splitfires that the S2 R33 and NEO R34 coil packs are the same model. So these might be able to be used on a S2 R33 as well. Anyone confirm? Location: Melbourne Price: $150 (i'm pretty sure they are $100 each from Nissan. I checked before buying the Splitfires, so these are 1/4 of the price )

Hi y'all My R34 is now spoiler-less, but it doesn't mean yours has to be!! For sale is a black (GV1) Nismo (or to be technically correct, Altia) Rear Spoiler It's in its 3 separate pieces at the moment. The main section isn't R34 specific, you could throw it on pretty much any car i reckon, if you're willing to drill holes in the boot. Location: Melbourne Price: $200 (open to offers) Anyways, pics!

check the thread Ronin posted up a page back. got oven?

apparently there is also different YEARS of R32 GTS-T's which are legal/illegal. The auto thing could very well be true if they are getting that specific with the build date. Auto might make it just that little bit heavier, and just scrape under the limit. Buy an auto, do a conversion

no need to mate. Talking to one of THE biggest Mayer fans
-
meh, Stevie and Mayer can't read music, good enough for me but you're right, theory helps A LOT with improv. I just touched on modes barely, and that's where my lessons stopped. I know they would have helped heaps with Jazz improv, but at the moment, i'm stuck on blues improv. Much easier

just stirring Pino only needs 4
-
bass... meh, dunce guitar "ah sir... i don't think i can cope with 6 strings" "well here, have a bass, they only have 4" What sort of music do you play Rylan? as in, what covers? What's the gear you've got? I'm a semi-self taught geetah player, but you're a bit out of the ways...

hi y'all just curious to see if there are any DMB fans here, and are going to the Melb gig? For who are arguably the biggest band in the U.S. they're relatively unknown here, but as a testament to the line-up outside The Palais for tickets last time, they still have a very hardcore fan base here. cheers, chinny

Ronin (marcus) still had some Honda Euro projectors according to his thread, maybe give him a buzz and see? If it's clean cut off you want, hard to go passed a Euro projector
