why oh why do the press keep insisting it's a Skyline!

show me a properly working 2001 Golf that uses that much petrol when city driving reading taken from 20litres of petrol. I travalled 140km's. Mainly beach rd driving, during non-peak hour (i work shifts) So sitting on 60km/hr for the majority, not stop start. It's a good run on beach rd. Trust me, it's something very wrong, but will get checked as soon as possible. Prob do the codes before i run around resetting ECU's.

cool, that's a good idea. Get the codes checked first. I was shifting between 2000-2500 rpm. I know my brother drives the car hard (the suspension takes an absolute hammering) but i was being granny. And still, 14.2l/100km's. Pathetic.

Hi, my bro's car is using fuel like you wouldn't believe and has probably been doing so for a while, he wouldn't have noticed. I've been driving it a bit because my car is getting resprayed and was looking forward to the less fuel consumption compared to the Skyline. Blow me down, i get a 14.2l/100km's out of a 2ltr, 4 cylinder golf! I'm thinking it's running stupidly rich as at night you can see smoke behind the car, can't really see it during the day. And smells quite petrolly too. He's had issues before with fuel (wasn't putting in the right fuel, unleaded instead of premium, screwed things) so i'm guessing the CAT is well and truly dead. But i was just wanting to do a ECU reset, hopefully get things back to normal. Anyone know how to do this on a 2001 VW Golf? couldn't believe the fuel consumption....

people still thinking it's a Skyline after it's been explained it's NOT a million times, others thinking there is going to be a V8 for the US market only? no... they're idiots

Sounds great from the clip nice low rumble on idle thanks for the R33 tip, i was wondering whether it would fit as i would imagine there are more 2nd hand R33 ones than R34. and in regards to the one on sale (link at top of this page) when it says 'muffler', i still need another piece to connect to the cat? Could any exhaust place make this up for me? Or does that just make it totally different to a full HKS dragger catback?

i'm guessing a R33 one wouldn't fit an R34? do you think it would be a lot of work to get one to fit?? looks like they have been discontinued... so it's second hand for me IF i can find one

from the website, i think it's been discontinued. I'm not fussed on brand new, 2nd hand is fine... and if need be, i'll just get a custom one made to copy the design... centre muffler? the thing more in the centre under the the car?

yeah, which is another thing i like about it. Has a real nice shape and sits nicely too. But i had a look at the HKS site, has this exhaust been discontinued???

i think i found my exhaust i don't know why... but i'm really picky about how an exhaust sits with the car... and that's exactly what i'm after. Parallel with the ground, and sit straight, not upwards, or sideways, a few kw difference for a really straight "through" one doesn't bother me. So not too droney? thanks again for the pics! still would like to see one on a R34 if anyone has one, and or their opinions on it... can't imagine it would be too different to a R33

hey y'all just wondering who has a HKS super dragger, or just dragger? don't know exact model name, on their R34? I would very much like some pictures as i think it's type of look that i'm after (need catback, have all other 3" exhaust parts) are they droney? cop trouble? and what's this JASMA business? something about certification? cheers, daniel

are the a RAWS workshop??? if so, they DEFINITELY need to be reported. SEVS was partly introduced to get rid of this shit

Ash is circling... i don't think there is such a thing as reputable import car yard. Too many bad stories about import yards. Just buy private, or import yourself. Best of luck dealing with the situation.
