oh wait, the UAS ones ARE the ones in the pic, the B5's... looks a bit misleading when you see them straight on... $370 aud when converted from YEN. I guess $500 ain't bad, considering 18" LM-GT4's are $1050 a piece!
-
hehe aftermarket guages i don't think makes a difference in terms of "stock" performance modifications from what i've heard, BOV's are needed when you're running SERIOUS power, lots of horsies... catback, filter, bit of boost, etc - doesn't qualify for SERIOUS power...
-
i'm not working that tuesday!! 99% there... heading to africa on 26th, so not sure if i'll be needing every spare second to get ready, as i've done bugger all so far... but would be nice to actually meet some of the J-Spec guys tho...
-
i would love to do it TV2... but hmm... dunno... that means engine out... more $$ - i'm grown to like black... looks pretty tough and hasn't been the nightmare cleaning job that some ppl make out if i was going to do anything different, it would be the Lambo fiery orange/pearl colour with a carbon bonnet... but i'm going to struggle to pay for any respray and i've been told a repsray to the same colour is easier/cheaper? yes no? no troy won't be doing the respray. I need to metal weld the spoiler holes on the rear quarters, and also the annoying rust spot under the centre brake light that so many 34's have... that's extra, quoted $1500 only just to spray/weld rear quarters and boot (rust spot)... guy said, for another $1500, he'd do the whole car... well, who's going to hook me up with a good deal for a TV2 then?
-
yeah, i'm trying to sus some skirts/rear bars out but haven't heard back as yet... too be honest i wouldn't even know what else is really out there... not a fan of those bomex type skirts/rear bar... well 18's are going to make it sit a little higher, fill the guards up a bit more, which then means i can lower it down a little back to where it is now (which is ok, don't really scrape if i attack some steep things at an angle) so the whole combo of a little higher, a little more filling out of guards and then being able to lower it a little should make enough of a difference i'm guessing..

what you been smoking akeenan have u seen the old spoiler? what you mean Jar, spoiler "ftw"? bugger, i wouldn't have minded some for half price, if they were the same - yeah, def need 18's. yeah very similar to GT4's but without the $$$, like $1050 a rim for 18's? or was that $700... something huge... i would love the GT4's from the ZTune (black, shadow chrome, whatever), but too pricey... and i don't think you quite get the effect without them being on a GTR - where as these rims have that inward spoke look already...
-
cheers lads.... thaka, u might need to take some pics of it sometime... as it's been made clear i can't! j/k i removed the wing and it's ugly what's left, hence i need a full respray so wasn't fussed on chopping the bonnet... but i'm not sure if funds are going to allow it which is a little concerning, $3k i could put a standard GTT wing on, or a GTR one (hard to find) but i dunno, i don't think on a black car a GTR spoiler looks good from behind... dunno what it is... i think with 18's and maybe lowered a touch, i can get away with no spoiler... what about these rims... but in this colour...
-
19's? dear me... that's prob getting too expensive... altho i like your thinking would solve many a problem... but i'm trying to think of tyres changes as well... there is an option of removing the lower lip - the front bar is a 3 piece... but i don't really want to do that, i know Andrew sometimes doesn't have the full lip, i don't know if that was intentional or not hmm...
-
thanks for the comments guys yeah, i've got the full nismo/altia kit but it can't cut it with this front bar.... you'll have to ask troy about what the job was like oh and roy, was that your silver 32 out the front of the workshop? i've partially bought the full SK R34 suspension kit, so that will lower it, but it's kinda adjustable... so i don't know how low i'll be able to go - i think 18's are almost a definite - how much you think i could off load the Advan Model 5's for? any ideas for skits, rear bars, etc??? oh yeah, that's the other thing... spoiler or no spoiler?
-
yeah, no drama's dezz, didn't take that way at all... i think better pics would be the ticket...
-
ok ok, my photograhy skills suck, i know i know - thaka mate, some help!? look at Dezz's avatar... the bonnet is now the same as a GTR bonnet, the front bar is the same as a GTR front bar... the 2 together..... you get the idea.. man, don't make me put a GTR badge in the grille!
-
yeah, troy did mention i should make a copy of the bar... in case of breakage... no cheap ass copies of this around, so would have to get it sent direct from japan... $$$$$$$$$$ - yeah, unfortunately i think 18's are the only way to solve the height problem... yes, the bar isn't your $300 unpainted fibreglass dodge copy - i'll just say $1k+, not the sort of thing i want to be destroying any time soon... hey dan, i'm not sure it troy(ylwgtr2) would want to do this again! you'd have to find someone up ur way how could chop, weld, make it look nice... oh, you need a GTR bracket/support bar thingy too... i'm currently borrowing Troy's what u reckon i could get for the rims? genunine Advan Model 5's, nice and light... Advan Neova tyres.. 235/255 front/back EDIT: satanic: yeah pictures are shite... late afternoon, when i install the CS2 suite i have lying around somewhere, i'll try a fix it... you're right, can't quite see all the lines/curves, etc...
-
yep, got my year 1 scissors out and chopped the lip off. i want to lower it but the front bar has next to no clearance already! i need 18's or i need to be SUPER careful... ylwgtr2 chopped the lip for me... i thought it could be done, so i gave the job to him knowing he could do it which he did - yeah, whole car is up for a respray... but i don't know if i have the funds really, going to Africa in 2 weeks for a bit over a month... Front bar is an exact GTR replica, made by East Bear (plastic injected moulded, not Fibreglass) and made to fit straight to the narrower GTT guards...
-
well the modifications have kinda begun... got myself a new front bar and put some different rims on. Rims came with the car from Japan, but couldn't switch em until after rego.. not that VicRoads would know, but i thought i'd play by the book... I think the different front bar is a vast improvement, considering i had a stock one as i sold my Nismo/Altia one to Dale what ya think? not 100% what to do from here with it.... On a little side note, i believe i am the only person in the entire country to have this front bar
-
there's also the DVD's that 'Canman' from SDU put together shan.... including other Group A races besides Bathurst, if i remember correctly.... might be able to hunt some of those down...
-
yeah i think thems are the ones looks great how the spokes angle in... are these rims super pricey? or good? as in are they lightweight, or they heavy and for show? uas only has LM GT4/TE37 looking rims, not those ones...
-
hope you got some plates? did the dude just drive off? surely you'd notice reversing into something... sounds deliberate the way you explained it.... where were ya exactly?
-
oh thanks for bringing this up, they make some rims i really like... don't know the model but they're hot... got the look where the spokes go "in" like the LM GT4's in GTR's... that sort of off set
-
yeah, aftermarket atmo bov's are pretty useless... can make the car run super rich, etc, etc, stall, blah blah... just hassels... go buy some sway bars or something instead, great bang for you buck increase in handling performance
-
how about Japan!?
-
^ heheh, well there you go... i can't remember exactly, but i thought it was something rediculous like $50k AUD ontop of the car price to bring a skyline into the states... could be wrong tho...
-
oh oh!!! lifters!! i had a chat to my mate/mechanic... told him my car is a bit noisy up around 2000rpm+ (any gear) - he said sounded fine, sounds like the lifters.... "very quick ticking noise" - i think i know what you mean... i like to think of it as a WRX grumble (nice sounding boxer note) but sped up and higher pitch - but yeah, quick ticking noise.. so this is normal for a NEO RB25 then??? - if so, the NGK iridiums were probably a bit of a waste of money then
-
are u in the states and want to get a Skyline from australia to the US? - not going to happen... if you're in oz and wanna get one here, refer to other comments.... "compliance" for Skylines in the US will cost you an arm and a leg, plus your heart, soul, brain, kidney, etc, etc, last i heard 1 place has the monopoly on importing them.

d/l now... grand master flash was telling a funny story bout his son trying to get into dj'ing... he gave his son 5 tracks, asked him to 'blend' them (match 'em) and mix it, and give him a cd of it in a week - flash referred to it as "gallopping horses" in reference to the blending DJ Shadow has Mos Def with him as well... pretty impressive... $88 i think tho...
-
now that we have our cars of choice all up and running, should hook up next time you're down in brighton - we can cruise church and hampton st j/k i heard the handling on these cars are just outta this world... plenty of power yet to be untapped too i'm sure... congrats mate! shannons came through with the goods for me as well! Said the only reason they gave me insurance for a 34 under 25yr old was cos i was a SAU Member - yet another advantage of being a member peeps!
