  1. you rock, cheers! where do you work that you have access to TV footage?
  2. what to do on a sunday afternoon? how about work from 1:30 - 11:30pm? well... that's what i do every sunday i was listening to grand master flash on TripleJ the other morning, wic! And DJ Shadow is on the way out as well... tickets are too pricey tho...
  3. early 2008, only 1.5 years, not that long to save!! my R34 is not going to be worth much by then... hopefully whatever job i have can pick up the slack $150K i think would be the cheap side, i think more $170,000 - it's going to be too much car to go for $150K - i guess they'll try and stick to $150 as much as they can, get's a little "pyschological factor" above that amount. 997 Turbo is $330K+, if this car comes in anywhere under say $175k and can compete with the 997... it will be THE bargain performance car... but i guess they're going to run into the same problem of people justifying $150K+ for a Nissan. $150K would be nice i reckon and would be probably snagg the BFYB title if they could keep it there. can't wait! I know someone down at the golf club will get one! There's one of eveything else down there
  4. hard part is the bolts in the far most corners of each side, in the wheel arch. So along the top of the bar, in each corner... found them to be a bit of a bitch
  5. yousendit.com there are a few other services like it, host up to 1gb, or therebouts, then every one can get it
  6. aussie media/papers started the 'godzilla' name.
  7. hey all my mum just told me she saw a story on ACA about a R34 being stolen, caught on CCTV, from underground "secure" carpark... apparently showed all the footage of the guys stealing the car.. anyone see this "story"? chinny
  8. if you're a true mate, you'd be saying .... "how about <other car> instead?"
  9. everyone's pretty keen and helping this guy track someone down, for whatever reason we don't know....
  10. i get about 12l/100km's... you can't really say i get such and such for a whole tank, because the tank is 65, but if you fill up when the fuel light comes on, you'll get like 45 litres in. i've been doing 15litre fills the last 5-6 times, and getting around 120-130km's from that (when fuel light comes on) which works about to be about 12l/100km's... you get a bit more accurate idea if you work out the litres/100km as opposed to a "tank" - check how many litres you actually get in the car, when the low fuel light comes on... you're not going to get 60-65 litres in that's for sure
  11. faulty tps? what's tps? no exactly sure what some of these aac/isc valves are etc, but it's all noted. O2 sensor... well it's easily done more than 40K in regards to the "popping", i've had the car parked, bonnet up, just to have a listen and every now and then, maybe every 15-20 seconds, i'll hear a 'pop' i guess is the best way to describe it. you can't hear it from the inside with the doors closed, but with the bonnet up you'll hear a pop, sounds like it's coming from the back of the engine bay, not 100% sure. It's probably not really a pop, but like when you turn a gas stove on and you hear the ignitor going, 'tick' 'tick' 'tick'... it's kinda like 1 of the 'ticks' and that's it... because i'm not in the car at the time, i can't tell if the car shudders when it 'ticks'... *sigh* i dunno.... i'm annoyed i don't know how to check/do all this stuff myself, need to know more about engines..
  12. to the guy who posted a pic of their 32, might want to edit out your number plates
  13. well it had a semi-service when i got the road-worthy - i asked the guy to check oils/filters - he said filters were fine, oil was not too bad, he said maybe 1 month get it changed. I don't know if you can check belts? and since then have now got brand new coilpack and sparkies - i'll have to double check what the compliance place did. so it's been looked at and such but i suppose you never really know the km's... i've also been told that changing oil won't make a car run smoother, or cause it to be rough?
  14. hmm... not being filled with much confidence putting in the Kaixen kit into my R34 then... manwhor3: u ever try the Kaixen kits that BATMBL is selling? So you're saying that even though my headlight assembly is designed for Xenons, putting in an aftermarket ballast and globe will still produce a scattered result? hey marcus! good to see that project is still coming along - results should be mint despite the hassle of taking off the front bumper to put these xenons in, is there anything i need to keep a close eye on when putting them in? I'm not really car savy, and don't want to break anything... is it still something a newb could do? change the halogens over to Xenons? cheers, daniel
  15. Hi everyone, just wondering what are the main reasons a car can run a bit rough, especially on idle? i've recently replaced both coilpacks (to Splitfires) and spark plugs (to NGK Iridiums) on my 34 and i noticed on idle it's still running a bit shuddery, i guess the best way to explain it is that when you're cold, you sometimes just shiver, well it feels like the car will just shiver/shudder every now and then on idle... sounds a bit noisy (i know, very vague) when driving as well, are RB engines on the noisy side? grown up with BMW inline 6's, and they are smooth as anything so that's my comparo engine type. Car has 51,000km's on the clock, no idea of validity of that (98 Car) - don't think timing belt has been changed. Car ran for a short time on 5 cylinders, when one of the coilpacks died. So i've been told that the fuel would have been going around that cylinder and could potential wear off the oil, etc... not sure. Don't think has had oil change since compliance (bout 2,000km's since compliance) not sure if they changed it though. Just wondering what are the main reasons a car would be a little rough running that's all? cheers, daniel
  16. oh of course! didn't think about that... i'm more than happy for Nissan Oz to sell it here
  17. ^ hahahaha i think reinier wolfcastle is austrian (arnie take-off) still a very funny moment tho (the googles, zay do nothing) heheheh - on closer inspection, these appear to be loafers - up and atom, up and at them, up and atom!, up and at them!, up and atom!, up and AT THEM! - better
  18. standard and annoying i prefer the BMW idea of applying a little and VERy quick braking force on indivdual brakes as oppose to cutting throttle
  19. PM me for info on R34 compliance if you're interested on just the compliance side. cheers
  20. it doesn't share anything with the current V35 Skyline (chasis wise) - there won't be a lower spec model, as there has never been with any other GTR. That's in regards to say single turbo etc, it's going to be a Nissan GTR - how can you have a single turbo Nissan GTR? From the Skyline line-up, yes, GTS-T, GT-T - but this is not a Skyline.
  21. to the guy who wrote out the long reply, sounds good. Stronger penalties for the really stupid things (drink driving) etc... reprioristing i guess would be one way to put it. there are problems with enthusiasts, police, govermnent, etc... for sure, no doubt about it, but... health drugs education terrorism skills shortage drought/water storage environment etc, etc car enthusiasts wanting more drag strips, or fairer treatment from the police? i just don't see the priority over some of the other major issues in the community - and maybe that's why police/goverment really don't give a sh*t but in regards to the way things should be done, what you outlined makes a lot of sense
  22. i thought it was confirmed by Goshn (sp?) that it will be a Nissan GTR and not be related to the Skyline, as it wasn't derived from the chasis? Hence no lower spec version, you'd have to get a V35 350GT to be next step under the GTR i'd guess (or of course the 350Z) read the write up on the new 997 911 Turbo in the Sun... sounds like a monster. I reckon the new GTR will be able to up to the task... it's not all about power... especially when it comes to the calibre of a GTR or 911 Turbo... gotta have the whole package if you want to play in that league... With regards to SEVS, that strictly with regards to private imports? Nissan OZ will be able to sell it here earlier than 2 years after Japan yeah?
  23. I bought a HID kit from BATMBL, check the for sale section, maybe the traders/supporters section. Kit includes globes and ballast. R34's have 2 light assemblies, Halogen (some 4doors and non-turbo's) and the Xenon assembly (Turbo, GTR, etc, possibly GTV) Apparently there is a company in Sydney that does a conversion to the Xenon assembly so compliance places don't have to buy a set of Halogen assemblies. You lose the OEM ballast and globes. And this company is then meant to destroy the parts. I believe it's 'Grey Imports' (Sydney, not QLD) I don't know what they charge the compliance workshops, but i guess it's cheaper than buying a Halogen assembly. I have yet to fit the BATMBL HID kit, but i've been told it includes everything i need, that i lost when my lights were replaced with halogen globes (but still the Xenon assembly) The compliance halogens are SHOCKING, night driving would be so much safer with the OEM Xenon's. It's a joke, it's about making the cars compliant with ADR's, and some of the rules just make them more friggen dangerous to drive - compliance tyres instead of top of the line, high performance jap tyres that don't have a friggen dot?? pathetic...
  24. settle down mate, it was just a joke, hence the -> man... as the guy said above, it was just a hint to "time on your hands" - hence, uni student...
  25. good, i'll rip that out...stupid car walking sideways on the roads cool, cheers for that mate. When i get the chance i'll check the boot out - for a little bit last night the fuel guage raised a bit, when i pulled over to drop a friend home, then proceeded to drop again when i started driving, back to empty.
