f a r k me 4.3 litre it seems and a lazy 887awkw - the Japanese are getting serious! I love the hinging front... love it all, amazing looking car. If you're too lazy to watch the vid, car gets to mid 330km/hr front straight of Fuji! But you should watch it, great vid anyway. From the DSPORT site

bit of an idea, not perfect -
i think multiply roughly by 1.61 so 3000 miles is about 4830km 7500 miles is about 12075km 10000 is about 16100km

Brent, ID1000's, Nismo intank, 400rwkw - Trent said no issues what-so-ever. As for United, Braeside has varied between 83-85% Ethanol over the last couple months, seems quite consistent My sensor has yet to read anything higher than E85 Caltex has been bang on E70 for ages, sensor never read any different except for i period during winter last year when it went into the 60's, but never seen it change from E70 since and i've been on United for about 3 tanks. Daz: Aren't we running similar setups? why so hardcore? You didn't need to change the lines either, standard will cope fine.

Oem Nissan R32 Gtr Car Cover?
SS8_Gohan replied to Carthik's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
nothing but the best microfibre will stop scratches and that's ONLY if the cover goes on STRAIGHT after you've washed it. If you've driven it even on a sunny day and put it in the garage, hello scratchville, especially those fitted ones because there is just so much more contact with the car. Do you have to stretch it to fit? And if you look in some parts, some of it is touching tyres... you take it off, dirt/grit would get stuck in the fibre, which when you fold it up will be dispersed around the rest of the underside and then you put it back over the car .... *shudders* car covers are nasty things, and really don't see any need for a cover. If you put it on after you've driven it, you'll scratch it. If you put it on straight after you've washed it, it will be near impossible to make sure the cover is debris free and would have to be stored very well whilst it's off the car. Plus all these materials it's made out of will scratch paint, ESPECIALLY soft clear coated japanese vehicles. The cerami clear euro's not as much, but as JDM owners don't have that luxury. and if it's an outside car, you've got wind to take into account which will induce even more swirling/marring and still provide no protection if a bird craps on it etc as that will still come through the fabric. If these cars aren't washed every time before putting on these car covers, it's a waste of time (and even then, the fabric used will still swirl/marr). Just put down a really good long lasting sealant, layered it if you want. Top with a few layers of a nice carnauba wax for a bit more depth, maintain with a QD after washes and you'll be fine. No scratches, and super easy maintenance due to the great washing characteristics. My GTR is maintained like this, lives in the garage, sometimes doesn't get driven for a few weeks, and even if it does, dust is NEVER an issue sitting idle. Would never put a car cover on in a million years. That's what the garage is for. And if you're outside, that's what a good sealant is for. -

Did you try Shannons or LSV? no such thing as special vehicle excess and your basic excess would most likely be $500, mines by like that for years. -
oh yeah, you guys are doing sunday not sat

love the bootlid, the subtle spoiler kick is really nice - i wanted to do something like that for my old GT-T but never got around to finishing it. thought about leaving the mirrors dry cf to show off the quality? I got my United from what i think is technically Braeside, not sure if that's how it's listed on their website, but i think that's the suburb. Near boundary rd/lower dandy rd intersection. It's closer than my closest Eflex too (springvale) so it works out well. Now if Fueltown just got back up and running, i'd only have one a few mins away

did you try Shannons? -
there's a couple going, 2 very nice cars
-
i can.... up until E85 - the E85 tune was done on drum E85 so i knew it was spot on (which it was) and there was only Eflex available at the time, so if i wanted to do a true E85 tune i had to buy a drum. With hindsight though, i should have bought/ordered a drum of E100 and done it that way... i wasn't thinking about United or Fueltown coming back on line, which i should have. We'll see how it goes, but United in Vic at least seems steady and Caltex has been been rock steady on E70 - i'll probably do an E100 one day just to cover all possibilities
-
onto second full tank now, sensor flicking between E84 and E85, sensor was reading E83 on the way to the station - looks like it's not varying wildly like last time united was around
-
there's a few Link G4's on sale too around the place if you want to do a flex-fuel setup. Check gtr.co.uk, they have a couple on sale. For those interested, i've run a couple tanks of United E85 now and last tank it was sitting on E83 (but was mixed slightly with some left over E70 eflex) - and just filled up today, very low tank, and it was flicking between E84-E85 - so hopefully it stays nice and consistent and doesn't jump wildly into the 90's.
-
98 was 356, E70 (but it might have been mid 60's) was 385, E85 was 400 so at a guess, E40 ~375 Filled up a couple times with United now, and the sensor was flicking between E84 and E85 (it was reading E83 before fill up and was very low) - would be nice if they stay consistent on E85 like Caltex stays consistent on E70 - otherwise i'll have to go back for a tune if it goes into the 90's

just called Shannons, they're a lot more upfront about it over the phone, like has been said already, don't really care if it wasn't a contributing factor, but... say the accident is frontal, and for example your HKS turbos are buggered, they would only be replaced with standard items and you would come to an agreement with Shannons about cash difference etc for what the HKS are worth over standard items. LSV on the other hand seem to be very by the book over the phone, they do tentatively mention the 'not a contributing factor' line but prefer to fallback on, if you have illegal mods then yes, your claim can be denied. Perhaps they're a lot tighter with these things hence the premium difference? I didn't ask about (or was told) cash settlement difference with parts listed and covered, relative to having stock parts put back on. Surely someone has had a bingle with aftermarket parts and has a story to tell? be interesting to see if people like Shannons etc have replaced different turbo's etc. rang Just Cars, they didn't have 2002 Skylines listed or not for GTR, i dunno, not on the system, and then i told them all mods and were more confused about what to do, so they're going to get back to me. -
ahaha, winar! (so far...) i still wave at owners, but yeah, not much wave action back, mainly just stares
-
welcome back EDIT: err... i just checked my joined date, i see your October '02 and raise you.... - man, had no idea it's been that long. Crazy Ron, did you come over from SDU? that's the ORIGINAL i guess

pretty much what i said on the phone, that i told them absolutely EVERYTHING done to the car, i know there's some illegal mods, you know there's some illegal mods, but you've still agreed to insure me. That's when he said in his experience it's not an issue if it's not related to the incident etc, which is the basically the unwritten rule it seems insurance companies go by. -

JUST when you think you've found a loop-hole, you go and discover they've already got that angle covered off... sneaky bastards! " The use, misuse, or existence of nuclear weapons or the use, misuse, escape or existence of nuclear fuel, waste or materials or ionising radiation or contamination from such fuels, waste or materials, or the combustion, detonation, fission and/or fusion of nuclear fuel or nuclear materials" On a serious note, i too have recently got a LSV quote and it's about half price of Shannons, was VERY VERY surprised. Agreed value not quite as much, but if it seems they hang onto that value longer then i'll probably do better than with Shannons dropping it quite quickly from experience with prev cars. I rang just then to query the 'modifications' exclusion and it sounds to me more like they would do the old "if it didn't contribute to the accident/incident, we don't care". Yes, the PDS specifically states... Undisclosed and illegal modifications your vehicle if it has any: • modification which you have not told us about; and we would not have agreed to cover your vehicle if the modification had been disclosed to us; • modification which is not permitted by law in the State or Territory in which your vehicle is registered; • modification which would prevent your vehicle from being legally registered in the State of Territory in which you reside, unless your vehicle is unregistered, you have provided full details of the modification to us, and we have agreed to cover your vehicle. But i believe that is similar to Just Cars, although they just say, unlimited legal mods, JC is obviously covering claims where say someone has an accident but has an atmo BOV. It sounds like there is a common sense type test applied in the assessing of the claim. I'm going to double check again with the guy who has been quoting me for the car, but that's what i've got so far from the guys on the phone It's a tough one...
