jogging some memories... i know there was a similar R33 colour to that as well... Series II colours: That car is a series 1... it must be SUPER rare... if they've shown u a brochure... guess it's genuine then
-
it's hot, got an Xbox
-
GT-T did not come in either LV4, LX0, JW0 maybe that silica breath one... not sure.
-
Paint code = LXO Don't think there is too much variation for GT-T. BNR34 TV2 - Bayside Blue QM1 - White KR4 - Sonic Silver KV2 - Athlete Silver GV1 - Black Pearl AR2 - Active Red EV1 - Lightning Yellow LV4 - Midnight Purple II LX0 - Midnight Purple III WV2 - Sparkling Silver QX1 - White Pearl EY0 - Silica Breath JW0 - Millennium Jade

dark blue with reddish pearl? we're not talking midnight purple III here are we?? that's a GTR only colour as far as i know. I thought i've learnt pretty much all there is to know about GT-T, series 1 and 2. What year is it? If it's series 1. i HIGHLY doubt it's a factory colour. I've got series 2 brochures and it's certainly not there and i've never in my life seen the colour you're talking about. Here or at the auctions when i bought mine. Did you get a paint code, ie TV2 = Bayside Blue... holiday is a new one, never heard of that before... what colour is the engine bay? i swear dark blue with reddish/purple pearl is not a factory colour
-
yep, Troy went over my car like that... and i got the rust around the stop light... but as far as i can remember, didn't have problems with the other stuff Lucky i guess. I imported.
-
nismo kit is probably Altia kit... they made the factory option kit... where is the car listed??
-
hey sewid, yeah, guess you could say it's mates rates. The guy knows his shit tho... don't become an approved BMW panel beater/repairer/etc easily. He's this crazy Austrian, funniest bloke It's $3k respray, including metal weld of side quarters (6 bolts per side) from where the spoiler was... plus fixing like a 1cm rust spot under brakelight on the bootlid. Cos u gotta cut that out and metal weld again. So i thought that was a good deal. But, (there's always a but) he said i gotta organise for someone to take the rear and quarter windows out (for a proper respray) and i gotta remove the trim myself. He'll come round with the tow truck, flat bed thingy one day and pick the car up. So a little prep work by me with the trim removing, but shouldn't be too hard. He also told me to buy a full set of new clips when i put the trim back in, so everything will be like factory fitted again And to also tint windows when they are completely off the car, so you get it perfect. Like i said, he does things the right way, none of this folding back seals around quarter windows stuff.. But yeah, just waiting on this front bar and i can get things rolling! what about some sort of silver pearl? That even possible? Like a diamond schwartz kinda deal?? So in some lights u'll see a hint of silver, or refletctive dark grey or something?

will see what James comes back with in regards to info... i think the only thing i might look at now is satin as opposed to matte. I don't think i'm game enough to go matte, yeah it is up to me but like sambo mentioned resale is something i gotta think about. Won't have the car forever, gotta use it to make way for the R34 GTR in a few years reason for respray? no, paint isn't fading or been in an accident (as far as anyone can tell, but how do you ever really know?) but the car had the hideous Alita/Nismo rear spoiler... which i dismantled... but it's BOLTED onto the sides... hence it was about $1500 to metal weld and respray rear quarters, and then a litte rust spot under brake light on bootlight, so for $3k i'm getting the whole car done... may as well, won't be any paint blending either. Plus getting bonnet cut to fit front bar. so yeah, probably heading for metallic black, with a bit of tweaking with some blue pearl maybe

Anyone Know How 'trade Prices' Work?
SS8_Gohan replied to SS8_Gohan's topic in General Automotive Discussion
i think it's recommended to get new sparkies anyway when u change the coilpacks... can a dodge spark plug knock a cylinder out?? EDIT: hahaha, hijacked my own thread - this thread is specifically for TRADE PRICES, so anyone can jump in with that info if they want -
Anyone Know How 'trade Prices' Work?
SS8_Gohan replied to SS8_Gohan's topic in General Automotive Discussion
gtt coils seem to be pretty crappy :S car is def running on 5> cylinders... sounds like a WRX, get 'ignition' error code and the engine as well as TCS and SLIP lights are on... almost guaranteed to be a coilpack with those symptons.. but then again, i haven't tried gapping my plugs? do you think it could fix all those problems? -
Hey y'all got a friend who's an apprentice at a workshop, who can get 'trade prices'... now, does anyone know how trade prices work? Is there like an average percentage discount over the RRP? specifically looking at Splitfire coilpacks... RRP around $990, some groups buys were getting $640... where exactly would the 'trade price' fit in there?? i'm just not sure if there is a rule of thumb, or barely any difference, etc.. cheers, chinny

Xenon assembly

you can, with a scan tool thingy... most workshops should have them, the Nissan models are loaded onto the cards they have for them.. i can't for the life of me remeber the error code, but the code that i'm sure would come up refers to an "ignition" problem. 99% it's your coilpack which is dead, seems to be common for the 34's. I've got at least 1 dead one... how did you know it's ur #2 cylinder? does the car sounded like a WRX? Engine light is common on bcos of the ignition error code being thrown out and for some reason this renders the traction control "temporarily unavailable" you'll know when you're going around a wet corner So yeah, 99% coilpack. TCS and Slip together means the traction control is offline. OPTIONS: - Buy Splitfire coilpacks, expensive - Buy 1x Nissan coilpack, $100 (new) and hope the others aren't on their way out cheers, chinny

East Bear R34 Gtr Front Bar... Someone's Copied??
SS8_Gohan replied to SS8_Gohan's topic in Queensland
well i rang around to all the places, but no one even really knew of the East Bear kit, let alone a copy kit thanks for the links anyways guys'n'gals... if anyone knows of some other places to try or has heard anything bout this, lemme know. I do know somewhere in QLD or Brisbane has made a copy, just don't know who cheers y'all -
then again when you see something like this.. makes you think...
-
little something i found on my google travels... there is bugger all info bout this sort of thing... i think this is a satin finish..
-
V8skylineMAN: thankks for the pic mate, looks good on the old school cars i think... just not 100% on a R34 shape shanef: that would be great mate... i think we need someone representing from the metallic corner Timbo auzz: that was definitely a plan, metallic black but with some extra blue or purple pearl..i was told the Nissan black has a few layers to it? Pete: matte/satin black, black rims, slammed, GTR kit, no rear spoiler, gold brembo's rrage: i'm really liking that 32... looks like it has a little, little gloss/shine to it?? is that a satin finish as opposed to a matte finish? anymore pics at all? nismo au: hey! now that's some pictorial evidence right there altho doesn't look the best does it, so this is carbon fibre with a matte finish? or just what the carbon fibre looks like naturally? from those pics alone, i probably wouldn't go for it.. probably after something darker looking. looks like a f*cking stealth jet tho 2GU UP: i saw it on an old school (but done up) car a night time in Melb city, didn't get a great look but i thought it was tough, and something a little different. I think maybe if it's done right, and it seems more satin than matte... it could turn out ok. Marcus: hahaha, don't think i'll quite head down that road...
-
wow... thanks for the responses y'all!! i reckon the 32 looks good but the 33... hmm.... not so sure. But yeah, a little hard to tell from the pics but liking the 32. So i'd be after a satin finish would i? hmm... ok, who's got pics of that? James, would be absolutely tops to find out what's involved with the matte and satin finishes... might give Troy a buzz it's funny how everyone either hates it or loves it... i asked a few ppl at work, and they were the same. Interesting
-
so there is a workshop currently in the process to gain approval for them? i reckon the coupe, lowered with rims and the little rear spoiler look the goods Saw them on the road when i was in canada/usa last... changed my perception of them once i saw them in the flesh.. i think i'd still get someone to fabricate up a tailight surround so that it leaves 2 afterburners... only see the stove-tops when braking
-
hmmm... seems very 50/50, either hate it or love it .... if ppl have any more pics, i'd love to see them... i might have to do a bit of a photoshop job possibly... maybe even Maya... does anyone know if this is more expensive than a metallic respray??
-
is it cheap and nasty? or is it expensive and takes a while to do? i did see it on an old school car, i thought it looked tough... but yeah, wasn't 100% sold on seeing it on something like a Skyline guess i would either need to see one in real life or some pics. It seemed like a pretty out there idea... something a little different i guess
-
hey y'all well i'm heading for a respray soon. Was just going to go with Nissan metallic black again, maybe with a little fiddling here and there, blue pearl or something... but i saw a Matte black car (some old school car) driving in the city quite a few months back, just wondering what y'all think about a matte black respray? and better yet, does anyone have any pics?? i thought it looked pretty hot, not sure if it's really expensive or cheaper tho, than metallic. Or if it's harder/easier to do... or maybe desert cammo respray still reckon that would be cool laterz, chinny
-
black looks more pimp... especially matte black
-
hahahah, yeah "will dance for food" "old grandma, she ain't what she use to be, ain't what she use to be...." ok, i'll even throw in a set of steak knives for FREE!!! deal of the century! Duffman, oh yeah!
