  1. sandy peep hey? i may live in a suburb with a similar name
  2. right, just disconnected both terminals... see what happens in the morning.
  3. hehehe, well i did some searches, and from some threads here it just said 'negative'... fine, i'll do both ... try this again... - dude, i'm a total newb with this car thing, i wasn't sure how to disconnect the terminals! just happened i had a spanner to fit the nut on the terminals... what do you think about this whole pumping brake thing? and if disconnected both terminals doesn't fix it? Take it to a dealer?
  4. is it manual? and by limp mode do you mean you can't rev it past a certain RPM? my car is doing the exact same thing, but i can rev it to whatever i want. 'TCS OFF' and 'SLIP' lights (means that traction control is temporarily unavailable) 'Engine' light is on too... haven't done diagnostic. I disconnected the -ve batter terminal overnight to reset the ECU, but that didn't help. I know exactly what you mean by the suby comment. i think my car and your mates need to go do a Nissan dealer to run a diagnostic, see what the engine light is on for. Tell him/her to try the reset ECU thing, but if not.... take it to a dealer. Seems to be a fairly common problems with the GT-T's.
  5. yeah, no insurance unless the car is rego'd. I'm going through the same thing at the moment. Car has been compliance, but i don't have the plate yet, so it's just sitting locked up in the garage. I haven't found anyway of insuring it without it being registered. If something happens to your car at a workshop, sometimes the workshops insurance will cover the cars at the workshop, so if the compliance workshop insurance covers your car whilst it's there, maybe leave it at the workshop until you can rego it? I couldn't wait for mine, it was in Sydney and i got it as soon as the compliance work was done, been waiting 10 months, just wanted to get the f*cking thing...
  6. i really don't know much about engines, so a vacuum leak i'm guessing it's not going to be leaking a fluid anywhere... what exactly are the steps involved in checking the vacuum lines? where do i look? cheers... Well i disconnected the -ve terminal over night (should i have disconnected both terminals?) and took the car out bout 1 hour ago, so prob got about 20 hours of having the -ve not connected. Ran smooth for a bit, no lights, then after about 5 mins, TCS and Engines lights both came back on and then the car started to ran a bit rough, lumpier idle, not sure if it's missing a bit... coil packs? my car is a manual, does it still have coil packs? not from Malaysia, just have family there. born here, half australia, half chinese.
  7. been in Malaysia for a week and a bit, just took the car out then and i couldn't get any of the TCS or Engine lights to disappear, sounds like it's missing a bit. With the 'bring it to nissan dealer' there is slight problem as it's not rego'd so i can't actually drive it anywhere. I guess i could get a temp rego, but then the drive to the dealer, the car wouldn't be insured... a little risky. A mate of mine told me to disconnect the battery terminals overnight... so i'm going to try that (gotta search for how to do that) - but yeah, if not... will have to get Nissan to take a look. how do u get into diagnostic mode for 34's? cheers, daniel.
  8. pic has been converted to black and white, but the 'R' has been left... you like confusing ppl Dino?
  9. that car is sooooo f*cking hot right nyah... and those rims!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! f*ck me! the epitome of beauty.... got any pics of those rims on a black R34 by any chance? stunning, absolutely stunning...
  10. still loving the D-Spec rims i know they're ur fav too Justin
  11. so have ur 'TCS Off' and 'SLIP' lights sorted themselves out? - i just took my car for a spin (after about 1 week) and got engine light and the 2 TCS lights, ran like shit for a while, pretty lumpy and rough, but bout 10 mins more driving and it was smooth as again. I was doing the whole turning off and on thing as well. Didn't work but then after a few mins driving, tried it again and the engine light went off.... bit more driving, off/on - and then the TCS lights are off. According to the manual, when the 'TCS OFF' and 'SLIP' lights are BOTH on, it means the Traction Control is 'temporarily unavailable'. My car is a manual by the way... so you've had no more TCS light problems?
  12. awesome, GTR in the states... gotta be a rarity - so is it a R33 or R34 GTR??
  13. i'm guessing any Nissan dealer could get you the kit in un-painted or pre-painted - it's actually an 'Altia' kit... the Nismo one is different to the kit most 34's have. I might be getting rid of mine if ur interested, car is black...
  14. kit is from 'Altia' and was a factory option when buying a R34. I semi-dismantled my rear spoiler, leaves 7 holes i think, quite nasty underneath, but already looking better. Bout $2k to fix
  15. are you putting factory Xenons in? or an aftermarket kit?
  16. i work at ANZ, 75 Dorcas st. Building above the BMW 2nd hand lot... only partime tho...
  17. well my car (GT-T) was used as a test vehicle for a workshop in Sydney. They had their inspection on March 7th, and even though i don't have a plate, i thought i'd go up and get the car. They were aiming i think for $3500 for GT-T's. Basically, they just want to use all their plates as quickly as possible (even tho they still have to clear D.I.'s first, anyone know what the time frame on that is, taking into account they had their inspection on March 7th?) My GT-T got new brake pads as well. From what you guys have all said, i guess the workshop was pretty trusting of me to give them a car which was going to pass the inspection. Granted, it's not a R34 GTR.. but yeah, could have been rusted and stuff like you guys said.
  18. ppl, get out your shovels!!
  19. you got a R34 GTR in the states???
  20. that car is f*cking hot!!! i'd take one any day. all it needs... VQ32DETT e-4WD

    oopsy!

ouch! I saw the first pic, and thought, ah yeah... what's the go... oh... right, car is a boomerang. and yes troy, i'm working very hard
  22. ok. never driven one. Signed up with J-Spec for a R34 GT-T, didn't think i could go too wrong.. Anyways, 6 months later, picked her up from Sydney on Labour day. Flew up on a 6:15 Virgin flight and drove back the same day to Melbourne. Got back 10:30pm. The car was f*cking sensational!!! My current car is a '91 pulsar hatch with 57kw's... so my first taste of boost was nuts!, loved it - Took her for a sneaky drive today (no compliance plate yet, no rego) and she's just awesome to drive, sits nice and flat and can't get enough of the boost! I'm with you Rizza, can't wait for the rego! Just dying to go cruising with my mates... R34's f*cking rock! EDIT: oh right... mods. Stock as a rock. Manual.
  23. troy yeah? um... it's tempting because i really would like the MD option. I actually got a 12 stacker as well, which no-one seemed to know about. I picked the car up, opened the boot and go, where'd this come from? So that was a nice little surprise. I'll have a squizz around the audio shops here, see if they can do anything or what other MD units they got... but if you could get a model number, just so i can look it up a bit, that would be great. I really have no idea what head units and speakers cost.....
  24. a R34 GTR for $50K? did u check if there was an engine in the engine bay
  25. they show much footage? annoyed i missed it
