  2. AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHA @ the ruler pic! A little too much parallax error there for me to tell, but it certainly ain't 22.75cm's is it! more like 12'ish Car looks phat sewid. Does ur exhaust trumpet out a bit?? Hey Brendan, do you have any pics mate?? cheers
  3. thanks for the pics everyone, and yeah, Chris and especially CNBLOW, pics would be awesome!! I know it would be better to have a straight as pipe possible, but i figure i won't really be able to tell a difference, so i want to go with something that i like the look of (not what the Japanese are doing ) Blitz: it's not exactly straight, but i like the look of your exhaust. Do you mind if i ask how much? Sewid: i ain't joining no dark side if it means i'm going to be unhappy with the way something looks on my car You got any pics or urs? cheers guys
  4. Hey y'all bought myself a BATMBL 3" front/dump pipe and 3" Hi-flow CAT, so now i need a 3" CATBACK exhaust to complete the system Looking at Apexi N1 or Blitz Nur spec exhausts, but can find f*ck all pictures of them on cars, not catalogue type pics. I searched all 20 pages of "apexi" thread titles, and "blitz" thread titles, and found NO pics of either exhausts on a car. Prefer pics of these exhausts on a R34 but i guess any car/skyline really. The other thing, does it really matter what 3" catback i get? It's basically a hollow piece of steel? Or is that simplifying things too much? These 2 seem to sit nice and parallel to the ground and don't stick out from the rear bar (i don't want all that funky angled shit). If anyone else knows other types of exhausts that are similar shapes, i'm all ears. cheers, daniel.
  5. LOOK AT THE DATE OF THE ORIGINAL POST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! makes me wonder what you were searching for GTRSRULE when you found this thread mate As you were the first new post and all... someone close this thread, before they realise there might be an interested in another FF movie and we have to endure more crap from crap shows like TT, and ACA, and then attention from boys in blue. We don't want this movies being made. Well not during the current "import" climate.
  6. so is there a suburb called Calder? never knew that where is Sandown? to be honest, there are a lot more matters that have a higher priority than to satisfy a few thousand (if that) motor enthusiasts by building them a multi-million dollar race facility. It would sooo low on the governments priority list, that it wouldn't even be there. I hate labour, but i don't blame for not paying attention to this. There are countless other 'enthusiast' groups, but really, not very important when it comes to things like health/education/technology - comes a VERY distant.... last
  7. where are all these places anyway?? As in what suburbs??
  8. righteo. Well what would you suggest then considering a budget of close to $2000 and 2 X 19" CRT's, good audio card (keep hearing about AISO drivers or something), 3D mainly, but also After Effects (so i guess it's gotta be a mid-way between HD and CPU priorities i guess) As you can see, i've got a sem-complete list already, but interested to see what you think. cheers.
  9. SCSI ten times the price!!!! As cool as it would be, i don't think i'll be going the SCSI option. Might just get someone to setup up RAID for me properly.
  10. don't know bout you guys, but my car is going to a REAL track, you know, the one with turns anywho.. F*ck the night curfew for P Platers! Proven to reduce the number of deaths?? I think also heard that if they ban everyone from driving their cars, any time of the day/week, this will also reduce the number of car deaths - It's such backwards, draconian thinking to bring out a curfew - government sponsored or subsidised education is the only way, and that goes to all drivers. Anyways, the gov just throws these ideas out to the media whilst it's in the public eye, to show that they are doing something, but once the next story hits it's all forgotten.
  11. how much are looking at for these SCSI drives? Maybe i'll get 1 smallish SCSI drive my system drive, with XP, programs etc, and then like 1, 10,000rpm storage drive?? It seems like i can cut money from the graphics card, maybe i can use it to get SCSI drives?? cheers
  12. ahh, shall i be watching this with interest Troy? this going to be relating to the bumper project?
  13. hey guys, so sorry for the delay mb# is 0411 145 145 - Name is Dietmar (i think that's how you spell it, pronounced 'Ditmar', he's Austrian) - It's relatively new workshop as he's moved from his old one. Tell him 'Daniel Chin' referred you. I was told $350 for a panel, just for a spray. But like lwells was saying, he would have to see the panels first, so Pashak, you'd have to show him your handy work, see if everything is up to scratch Seems like a decent price, and we might be able to organise something a little better. cheers, daniel.
  14. oh yeah, my friend has had a lot of problems with this RAID stuff - should i bother setting it up? If it's setup right in the first place, will it not be a problem?
  15. MSY.com.au prices * 2 x 19" Viewsonic G90F+(Flat) - $630 * Pioneer A108 16x DVD Writer - $130 * AMD 64 3400+ 754 socket - $358 * Gigabyte K8NSpro nforce3 mboard - $175 * Gigabyte K8NSNXP nforce3 1294b, SATA, Raid - $270 * Sapphire VIVO X800 pro (closest i could find...) 256M ASUS AX800PRO/TVD/P ATI 800pro - TVD - $705 * Audigy ZS Platinum Pro - $350 (Couldn't find it) There was an Audigy 2 for $165 * 1gb Corsair C2 PC3200 - $350 (Couldn't find Corsair) There were listings for DDR Memory and DDR 2 Memory 1gb of DDR 1 memory, around $260 * 2 X WD 74gb Raptors (couldn't find it) These raptor drives must be speical cos i could get 2 X 250gb drives for less! ok, these AREN'T at member prices. Looks like money can be save at... * Monitors * Graphics card * Hard Drives * Sound card? * Motherboard. msy.com.au TOTAL = $2900 - there abouts. NOT member price. what sorta discount to members get? 5%? As cool as it would be gordy to have the above stuff, do i really need it all??? Just something i can run like After Effects, 3D Studio, Photoshop, all at the same time without chugging like a biatch. Interested in this 10,000 rpm and 15,000 rpm hard drives, care to explain further ferni?? cheers guys.
  16. wow, ok, a few things to look into. First off, how much are we talking for 2 X 19" CRT's? It's about $1000 - $1100 for 2 X 17" Flat Panels. I wanted dual for tutorials and for stuff like Photoshop, just dump all your tools and shit on one monitor, and then have your workspace clean and uncluttered on the other. And no, i don't like running 1600 x 1200 or whatever that hubble space telescope sized resolution is. I do want to stick as close to the $2000 as much as possible. So i guess we could try and chop some things a bit. And i don't need software! Is that what Winfast XP is?? Ok, i do know some gold members, so i'll check the msy.com.au stuff. * 2 X 19" CRT's - $? * Pioneer A108 16x DVD Writer (mate told me about this as well) - $130 * AMD 64 3400+ 754 socket - $300 * Gigabyte K8NSpro nforce3 mboard - $270 (msy seems to have a K8NSpro for $185, don't know if it's nforce3 or whatever) * Sapphire VIVO X800pro - $700<- What's this??? Graphics Card? What's flash to X800XT? * Audigy ZS Platinum Pro - $350 * 1gb Corsair C2 PC3200 - $350 * 2 x WD 74gb Raptors - $560 - (seems expensive for 2 Hard Drives?? Are these special jobbies?) TOTAL (estimating $800 for 2 CRT's) = $3460 Ok, where can we cut this biatch down? If the Sapphire is the graphics card, it seems pretty expensive, so do the HD's. I've already got a 19' CRT, but i want matching monitors So yeah, now we gotta cut this monster down a bit thanks for all your help guys!
  17. Advan Model 5's. 17", don't know any other dimensions. I'll keep it in mind, as i haven't seen them in the flesh, but at the moment not too fussed about them. Unless you have a set of Nismo LM GT4's, or D-Spec rims, or 5Zigen Pro-racerGN's or Impul NS-GTII, Gramlight 57 SSR's, Volk LE37's, don't think a swap will be possible cheers, oh and leech_ you're suppose to like bump every week/couple of weeks, can't bump too much
  18. I was watching the Indy cars for a little bit before work last Sunday, and they say they were running Turbo 2.4ltr V8's??? Weird combo, altho i understand that higher revving engines seem to have less displacement, but i thought it was interesting to see a small capacity V8 with a Turbo and they said around 700hp I like it. Compact'ish V8 with a blower, think that would be cool to see in a production car. Altho it seems torque may be a problem So is Indy the CART thing people are talking about? Are the F1's going to go Turbo again? Oh yeah, the Indy engines were running STUPID boost, i must have heard the commentator wrong, 30-40 psi??? Must have heard wrong... cheers.
  19. howdy y'all well i somehow managed to scrape by my motion graphics and 3d subjects with this piece of shit PC. Someone should have explained to me the full extent of the word "RENDER", fark me, that shit takes forever!! anyways, i need a new PC and i figure there are enough IT people here who can point me in the right direction. I need the following.. * Dual 17" Flat Panels * Really good sound card, one with AISO drivers or something?? (Needed for Guitar rig/music recording) * DVD Burner * Other CD drive * Have firewire somehow * Dual monitor graphics card * Some other thing that can take a TV aerial input? TV Card? That's pretty much it as i don't know what CPU i should get and how much RAM or what type, or what setup for HDD's i need. 1 large, 2 large'ish ones?? etc. Looking to spend about $2000, maybe a few hundred more. I'm fairly confident i can build the thing, but i don't know what parts tho. Keep in mind this is for mainly 3D purposes, which i think means more emphasis on CPU rather than RAM?? Or more emphasis on graphics card? i dunno. cheers, chinny.
  20. you've had no problems crusing around on trade plates? i thought you can only drive from home to the designated workshop? or is it as long as you can prove you are taking it to a place that will be working on your car?
  21. saying goodbye to the ANZ??
  22. i'm lost, but the jist of it sounds good! Justin, i sent you a PM, but i'll send Troy one now as well
  23. http://www.autoweb.com.au/cms/A_101604/new...ewsarticle.html just a little snippet "The M54B25’s back-to-back acclaim is matched by what some believe is the best of the best, the M3 Coupe’s S54B33 3.2-litre straight six which produces up to 265 kW in the M3 CSL. This year it again dominated, winning the 3.0 – 4.0-litre class. On debut in 2001, the M3’s S54B33 engine was crowned ‘International Engine of the Year’ as well as winning its capacity class. For four years in a row the M3 3.2-litre BI-VANOS engine has vanquished all-comers in the 3.0 – 4.0-litre capacity class, underlining its peerless perfection. With two capacity titles under its belt in the 2004 Oscars, BMW has now won more awards for its engine technology than any other manufacturer since the inauguration of the Awards in 1999. "
  24. well i would like to rebut the M3 comments I think they are great cars, and certainly wouldn't go calling them crap due to a factory recall. Does this affect ALL E46 M3's? I know one guy down at the golf club who has one, and also had one of the previous models, and afaik there is nothing and has never been anything wrong his. And he is an absolute maniac driver, his M3 does NOT live an easy life. Yeah the exhaust sounds tinny from the outside, but have you heard it sitting in one???? One of THE best engine notes ever! And it's safe to say that, that is commonly accepted, but yes outside, sounds tinny. I think they are brilliant cars, and a 'crap' car doesn't win things like PCOTY, and countless other performance categories by being crap. The S60?? (don't know the model#) engine has also won it's category at the Oscars of engine awards every year it has been running. But there is more to the M3 than just it's, IMO, brilliant engine. It's a complete package. And how many M3 engines do you see running in those enduro races? M3's AND M Coupes.
  25. i was referring to my suburb
