I know the end tips look different. The twin pipes on the GTR are wider, than the twin pipes on the GT-T - I don't know about the rest of the exhaust. Obvioulsy different at the turbo's, as the GTR has a few

If my car is ready, i can put it in if it's deemed worthy. But not too keen on paying $100 for my car tho... didn't know it was that expensive

No such thing as a R35. You bettter edit that before Justin sees it Todays market buys more new cars than ever before, and tell me if you see the following cars on the road. BMW 545i/540i (This model or last model) BMW M3 BMW 7 Series (This model or last model) BMW X5 (Top models) Porsche 911 Merc E55 Merc AMG's (real ones, not kitted ones. Hello mesh! ) Merc S Class (This model or last model) Merc M Class (top models) Maserati (not that un-common now) Audi A6 (Top range) Audi A8 Audi RS4 and up. Jaguar (don't know my models, i'm sure they have a few $150K+) Can't really think of any others. But i know there are, relatively, a lot of $150K cars out on the roads and if this GT-R can match a 996 991 Turbo (which it looks like it can and THEN some) for LESS than half the price ($315K-$335K 911 Turbo) i think it will do very well considering how well new cars have been selling recently. cheers. EDIT: Can also see the new GT-R taking making a dent in the popularity of choosing 911 GT3's, GT2's as race cars. From performance AND budget benefits.

Post up a pic of your car, and i'll photochop it to whatever colour you want. cheers.

mate, not a problem. I understand you've been busy. I actually thought u wanted to do it BEFORE you painted the parts, got things a little muddled I'm looking at getting a front bar (GTR) that actually fits straight onto the guards, only have to get the bonnet modified. So still prob need your help But definitely looks like the rear bar will be cut in half job. I've just found out how expensive it is to bring parts out. Yahoo prices are cheap, but then there are so many extras. But found some local front/rear bumpers. Just give us a bell when you're ready. I'm sure it will be good to get a roof over your head when you're on the roads, it's been a pretty decent winter so far (judging from the snow) cheers.

I'm currently driving a 91 Pulsar hatch, fwd, no abs (which i heard is a good thing for these courses) and tyres thinner than some push bikes - Is there much point me taking this course when i have a R34 GT-T on the way about 3-4weeks after this course? cheers

I didn't even realise that the meeting was on, just saw the thread today How much are we looking at for the CES Racing one? And it looks like there are 2 BATMBL cats, one small, one large. Would the small one be ok for GT-T?

Mine was on a ship July 5th, landed on 17th. My approval was approved 9th July, and mailed out 12th July. I thought it would all work out fine, surely 1 letter can get from Canberra to Sydney in 5 business days? OBVIOUSLY F*CKING NOT!!!! It's now 21st, no sign of the f*cking thing and i'm going to have to pay if nothing is through by Thursday. I can't believe how shit the post is. I'm organising ANOTHER import approval to be sent out, gonna try and get that sent super special fast mail, or whatever is the quickest way. By the way, RAWS has a secure server to lodge import approvals. Suppose to be approved, 7-10 days. But no-one told me the f*cking things have to be MAILED out after that! I wouldn't have tried to get it on the boat if i new that. EDIT: Other stupid things. The car has been approved for import, but DOTARS won't mail to anyone but the compliance place, they won't fax the thing, they won't email it. They won't give out the import approval number, and i don't think customs anything but a copy of the approval (eventually real thing), even tho they can check whether the car is approved or not

Hi guys'n'gals Thought i'd post in here rather than general, bit more performance orientated. Basically need a few pointers with exhausts. Been looking at batmbl's front/dump pipes, heard good things and looks like a good price. If those are installed, do i then need a new CAT/rest of exhaust (not sure what that's called) to go with them? I know a free flowing exhaust is a must for a turbo car, but i imagine there is a limit regarding how wide an exhaust should get? I'm not looking for a shelter for the homeless exhaust. So in terms of response more specifically bottom end, what size an i looking at? 3", 3.5" all the way through? Larger/smaller? Not really performace question but more final look of the exhaust, which i guess will limit me in brand choices, but i'm after one that doesn't. - angles up/away - angles down (WRX style) - trumpets out (tip) - sticks out too far from rear bar. I dunno, something about exhausts shape not suiting the car really puts me off. I'm sure that's probably going against performance, but would it make that much of a difference to rule out the above style exhausts? Lastly, they seem to be a hollow piece of steel, so are there really MUCH better brands than others? Obviously not going down the titanium route, but something in the style of the Mines R34 GTR exhaust looked nice. Finish pretty flush with the rear bumper and was parallel with the ground, not all angled funky. And if it's good enough for the Mines car, i'm sure it will be fine for my GT-T (minus the titanium-ness ) So yeah, long post but just any brands or exhaust models that aren't like the above mentioned, and what are the best specs for getting better response, not top end. cheers.

looks very bling in those sunny pics. Must be like christmas still a go-er for the whole front/rear bumper fitting, looks like it's still off your car? cheers.

dude, i have a feeling our cars were on the same ship! Land sat morning, 17th? - My RAWs import approval was approved 9th July, mailed out 12th July at the compliance place hasn't got it yet!!!! We don't know what is happening, if this goes on much longer, i'm going to have to pay to keep it at the dock. AUST POST ARE THE SLACKEST PIECES OF SHIT!!!! I pray that both our cars are unmolested ni. I wanted to get a picture of the odometer before it left, so i could see (minus roll on/off) if it's been driven. I can't believe ppl let this shit slide at the wharfs. /prays further for import approval to arrive

/rant - where's my car..
SS8_Gohan replied to raz0r$harP.UK's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
ah, other "it's taken forever to import" people!! - I bought a R34 end of May, missed a June 3 ship (no import approval), more problems with import approval but i'm going through RAWs, so you can submit import approvals online and it takes 7-10 days to approve (altho took a bit longer) - Ship lands in Brissy Friday 16th. , then trucked down to Sydney for compliance, then 6 weeks to wait for Vehicle Inspection as my car will be a test car for the compliance place There seems to be sooo much more waiting involved with importing and from all these posts, it seems to be the absolute norm. This is my first time importing, and if i do it again, i'll def get my shit together better and make sure things are done asap, because it's such a linear process, if one thing f*cks up, everything else gets thrown out of whack. Despite that, i've prob saved bout $10k on what R34's are going for (thanks to some luck with compliance) so i guess the wait is worth it. But it's sooooo hard. I can just say, i can definitely understand what you guys are going through, the whole process seems to be really slack no matter whether you've got good ppl like J-Spec or Prestige doing it for you. This shit just takes a crap load of time. Hope the Brisbane wharfies don't rape my car cheers. -
OMG I just put a deposit on a R33GTR!

I was watching some doco on National Geographic, and for the smoke that comes out of the back of those stunt planes, or the formation planes at the air shows, they said they dropped oil on the exhaust and the heat from the exhaust causes the white smoke? So don't know if that applies to a car, with an oil leak on a hot exhaust? Altho, if it happens as soon as you turn it on then goes away when it gets warm, that contradicts that idea a bit doesn't it?? Oh well Good luck with the buy. I bought a car in japan a few months back, description was good and pics look ok, just hoping she's alright when it gets here. Hard to tell even when inspecting a car in person, let along not seeing the bloody thing -
oooo VIC track team now, i'm so heading out with you guys once my car is regoed. R34 GT-T, one of the reasons i bought it was so i could race it. Have the Mines R34 GTR to thank for that Need to do anything to be part of Team Wang

R34 GT-T (black) with GTR kit, lowered sus and AVS Model 5's? Don't know if the car will be ready, but if this meets criteria, i'll do everything i can to get it ready. No point rushing things if it's not going be to good enough. cheers.

watch out when dox asks you to "play with his huskies". There have already been a few restraining orders and court apprearances involved. Needless to say, dox can't go within 1km radius of any school now.

Guitar Been teaching myself since yr 12 (2001) so that makes it 2 and a bit years. Just started playing with a Uni band (but we need a drummer! ) Got a Cort M500 (will post pics later) because i wanted a PRS but couldn't afford one, so i got the only model that makes a rip off of the PRS shape. Basically a non-turbo GTR kitted R33 Pretty much play John Mayer exclusively, cos i love acoustic style guitar and need a semi-acoustic if anyone wants to sell or knows someone who wants to sell. Love any guitar playing which is interesting and fun to play, something different than power chords and 4 chord songs. Hence John Mayer and Dave Matthews, really fun stuff to play. But don't mind to venture down the heavy path either, Tool have some killer riffs, Deftones, Incubus has a kick ass guitarist.

SS8_Gohan replied to bryanlee38's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
yeah, i don't think there is an after market R34 GT-T kit that i like - Hence i'm going custom -
Ah... the Mines R34, the car i look up to and aspire to make my R34 like. It's not a GTR (GT-T) but that's exactly what i'm going for. Response, response, response. So i've decided to do suspension first before any power mods. All ready got good rubber. One day, i'll get a R34 GTR, and send it to Mines for the full treatment
-
Ehlooo Troy? you found a time u wanna do this? If you're too busy, should i just buy the parts and then find a way to fit them? Or you think that's a bit risky? cheers
-
Comparing mod changes is a definite use. But comparing to other cars? Give u can indication but the other cars weight and tyres would probably make things very comparable. Personally, i'm going to try and make my car fast WITHOUT increasing rwkw's, (suspension/tyres/brakes) and then make it like Joel said, lots of lowdown/mid range power/torque. You gotta have a goal i think for it not to be rice. If you wanna run 9 secs, or do less than 1min around a certain track, etc. Just doing it for the number sake would most probably classify it as rice. 1/4 quite frankly isn't very comparable for a cars abilities. A real track is a much better indication, a real track being one with turns. Because 95% of the cars at SAU are ROAD cars, with a little track time. Meaning, to be able to compare cars a real track time is a much better indication as it encompasses everything you would do on a road. Go, Stop, Turn, Go Aagin. Every part of the car is tested, unlike a drag. I think Gojira makes a very good point about rwkw getting to the stage of being rice.

Usually around $5500. I'm not aware of any S.A. places yet, but def 1 in Sydney (Mobility Engineering) and one in Melbourne (Cross-over Car conversions) - I think there is one in Qld coming up soon, Shogun??? also the DOTARS sites has a search function to find RAW's for certain vehicles, just do a R34 search. cheers

I'm sure someone would give it a go, but would prob get fed up pretty quick as everything would keep braking. engine, clutch, drive train, gear box. Then they'd be like "fark, someone just hand me a RB26 pls! this aussie stuff is a piece of shit!" - or i've heard they asked for the BA XR6-T engines, but they have some t-e-c-h-n-o-l-o-g-y behind them, say it with me Holden "technology"....
