You mean looks like that came from a mould of E36 M3 mirrors? WHere's it all started. For that shape anyway, i'm sure lambo or ferrari or lotus have had the gap in the middle for prob longer than BMW, but that shape mirror is just a copy of the standard E36 M3 mirrors. I wonder if BMW knew the rice they were unleashing when they designed those mirrors I saw a lancer with those mirrors but in chrome, but it must have been real pov as the chrome was chipping and flaking off I can see why BMW didn't keep the design going on the E46, too many ricers with em -
Hey shan what's the deal with getting body kit stuff through Gareth and the crew? Do they fill a container and the ship stuff, or is there other way to ship stuff? If they do the container option, how often are they able to ship these sorts of things? Who from Vic decides who does and doesn't get in to MAS? I'd like to put my car in (if its f*cking ready by then!!!!!! )

well i'll be on my P's for about 9 months once i start driving the R34. So going on probabilities i might get pulled over once. I don't drive a lot anyway, couple of times a week, and most of that are 5 mins trips I'm not fussed bout the whole thing... one thing i know, i'll be driving a hell of a lot safer car that's for sure. 91 puslar hatch anyone? My bike has more rubber on the road than that car :uhh:
-
cool, definitely is a very schmick looking car, best of luck! kinda back on topic ... troy, you got a time you can do this meet up? cheers mate, chinny.

It's OFFICIAL - The Next GTR
SS8_Gohan replied to meshmesh's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I think it will sell quite well if it comes. I base this on the number of M3's. Relative to price and performance, there are A LOT of them around. And don't forget 996 911's and Boxsters. These are $90K+ (boxsters), $150K (M3) and $180K - $330K+ (911) cars. The hard part is always going to be convincing people to spend that much on a Nissan. But then again, Australia only got 22(?) M3 CSL's and at $210K a pop, they were sold as soon as people could place an order. I'd imagine the new GT-R will be sold here primarily as an R34 M-Spec equivalent car, to compete with the other Euro models. And a new M-Spec type GTR at $150k up against a BMW M3, ppl will soon realise where to splash their cash. But then again, can you put a price on a BMW badge? That's going to be only stumbling block i can see, i'm sure the car will be an absolute rip snorter, just gotta convince ppl it can be Nissan -
I'm VERY tempted to send his dad an email with the link for this thread /looking at mods - not a good idea? I work at the fraud department at ANZ, he didn't have an ANZ account that you wired your money too did he? I still think this definitely be taken further than just getting money back. But that's just my two cents.

R33 won't be listed down as a hi-po car at Vic Roads. Only OZ delivered cars. so R32 GTR will be there. I thought R33's were 187kw at the fly and 1360kg kerb weight? Did the po po tell you, you were 6kw's over? And show some figures etc?

V35 or G35 Coupe's look a lot better in the flesh than pictures. Especially with the subtle kit that seems to be an option. Saw quite a few in Nth America recently, pity about the rear lights but unlike the 4 doors, the Coupes do keep the afterburners in some form, but onll when the rear lights, light up. Can't see it otherwise But personally i want to see it as a Nissan GTR, not a stupid infiniti. I know it's just a name, and it's still a Nissan, but it just loses some of the 'gloss' for me if it's not a 'Nissan', and already lost a bit for not being a 'Skyline GTR' -

I reckon $150k - $170k for it. Considering what the car will be, and what else you can get (brand new from factory, none of this 1890's, datsun with RB26 crap pls) it will be VERY competitive. I'm going for "Porsche 911 Turbo (996) beater or equal, for little over half the price" Now it they can only make it look half as aggressive as the NSX protoype, we'd be set! mesh, u gonna place an order mate? cheers -
yeah, that's the stupid thing. Might have say... R33 GTS, throw a RB26DETT in, get the engineer ok, you're laughing. The car is registered as a non-turbo R33, easily under power to weight.
-
Not sure yet, up to ylwgtr2 By the sounds of it, fairly soon as his car is a bit all over the place at the moment which is actually a good thing, means it's easier to measure up some certain parts, how's ur schedule looking for the next few weeks Bass?
-
Hmm... 6kw is some random guess if you ask me... 187kw 1360kg = 137.5kw/tonne Send akeenan a PM, he's in japan, but got some engineering certificate for a restrictive air box, which brought the power down. Altho the value of the cert. and the benefit to the car (restrictive airbox) was in question. Not sure if even a cert. was ok, but i think andrew got by with it fine. And the air box mod thingy was easy to take in and out as far as i can recall. This doesn't sound good if the po po are actually enforcing this, as they've seem to have let it slip so far. I'm still gonna have about 9 months of P's left when i get my R34 And that's definitely over. What are the restrictions now that you've been pulled over for it?
-
If you want to get this organised as soon as possible Troy then that is fine with me, so you're just over the bridge on the west side yeah? Well Bass Junky how would feel with meeting up with us just over the west gate? Do u live on west or east side? That would easiest for you Troy? if we came over to your shop? This is to fit around when u've got the time, so you say when and where, what suits you best. cheers.

Howdy everyone, As the title says, i need some help from the R34 owners out there. I've been speaking to someone about a custom kit job and i need a R34 to sit side by side to a R34 GTR *cough* troy *cough* (by the way, how is the car going?) I will confirm a time and place, but would someone be willing to come along with their R34 to help me decide whether what i have in mind is feasible? Don't need to fang it or anything, all the R34 would be doing is being parked next to a R34 GTR. Maybe a few body kit bolts being unscrewed here and there No driving of the car needed. There maybe some brewskies involved for intereste parties If you're interested, drop a post in here, and then i'll try and give a time a place, see if it suits all parties. cheers!

Dude, could u get me a CD? it's an NZ artist called Brooke Fraser. Her CD comes out here July 11, but i can't wait that long. She's like X2 Platinum/Platnium (sp?) over there, but no one knows her here (except for those that went to the John Mayer concerts, she was the support act) Brooke Fraser - What to do with daylight I'm gonna put my molly meldrum hat on and say this girl will be big here

www.xe.com - anyone used the money wire services?
SS8_Gohan replied to SS8_Gohan's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Thanks razor, i'll have a look at ozforex.com.au - my import agent told me that they've used xe.com before, but sometimes money "disappeared" in transit, never to be seen again - So i think i'll just stick to checking the exchange rate at xe.com cheers guys! -
hey SAU brethren! i always use www.xe.com to check exchange rates, like i'm sure quite a few of you do as well. But has anyone used the new service they've got that allows you to wire money to other accounts? I've still got some Japanese payments for the car left. And with the Aussie dollar going backwards, and then the banks taking a further 2 yen less than the actually rate when you do a telegraphic transfer, it looks pretty good to use the xe.com service. The exchange rate that you get for the transfer is pretty much the same as the actual exchange rate. No commission etc... So if anyone has use it, i'd like to hear how it went. Could be quite handy when buying things from japan, yahoo auctions, etc. Or any o.s. stuff. Looks like you can skip the banks "reduced" exchange rate. cheers

Hey queenslanders! Just listenting to Triple J and they're currently discussing crap driving or road conditions, just general venting about why road laws are the way they are, etc, etc... Anyways, i wasn't really listening hard, but i thought i heard the Triple J DJ say "G.... T..... R..??" questioningly, as if she didn't know what one was. The guy said he was from Mackay, but i didn't hear whether he was asked what car he drove? Any Mackay GTR owners who gave Triple J a call just then? cheers
-
I tried to PM u the other day, but ur inbox was full! . Looking to sell yours hey.... so were you interested, or not intersted in the full kit swap? Nismo (altia) for Standard? Cos it would actually help compliance side of things a fair bit if i had the complete stock kit on. I'm interested, so what would the details be? cheers

R34 GT-T: COMPLETE suspension makeover
SS8_Gohan replied to SS8_Gohan's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
That helped A LOT! You word is bible in these here parts, so i'll follow the steps to the letter Stage 1: Sounds good. I was kind of under the impression that the Pineapples block the HICAS? something like that? Realistically i will probably take the car to a track a couple of times a year. I've never done anything like it in my life before so i don't know if i'll get the bug and can't stay away from the thing, or whether it will be something i just enjoy a few times a year. To the point With relatively little track usage, should i be getting rid of HICAS? Cos if it's something i should do, then as you said, better to get it done at Stage 1. Stage 2: Cool, again, sounds good. Stabiliser bar same as Swaybar? There seems to be lots of interchangable terms  Would you do strut braces here as well? Stage 3: Going from my FWD Pulsar hatch, i'm sure i'll be impressed enough with the stock handling! So you're probably right, i'll most likely be happy with Stage 1 and 2. But i know like all stock cars, it can be made better and i think if i do all of this, i'm hoping the car will be a lot safer and more predictable car to drive. That's why i'm skipping power mods to start with. Despite all that, can't beat the look of a car lowered a touch And i want to lower it, but lower it right with performance ahead of looks in terms of priority. So are you saying that if i'm happy with the handling after Stage 1 and Stage, maybe just get lowered springs with a slightly higher rate than standard springs to compensate for the decreased wheel travel? So i get the lowered look, but keep the performance advantage of having it lowered? Just on a side note, have you worked on any R34's before? I know camber is how the wheel tilts towards (-ve) or away from the car (+ve) - but i'm still not too clear on what caster is? Couldn't find a good explanation on the whiteline site. Lastly (sorry!) is there any point looking elsewhere? As in, should i just stick with the whiteline solutions? Or should i be looking at some Japanese brand alternatives? It seems Whiteline is the most respected complete suspension specialist in Oz. I've heard nothing but shocking (excuse the pun ) things from Pedders, don't think i'd even take my Pulsar there! Thanks again SydneyKid, just had an update on the car and hopefully it will be on a ship 28th/29th June, and here in Oz 11th July. So a few weeks off, but i can see some light at the end of the tunnel. cheers -
jamesh3: do you live your life a quarter mile at a time? or when you race, you take the win and the respect, cos that's more important to you? couldn't help myself!
