need advise in selling an R34 gtt
SS8_Gohan replied to letemlaf's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
hey letemlaf, send an email to 'DarkCoupe' or something like - have a squizz in the Wanted To Buy section, he's been looking for a GT-T for quite a while, and i think we've got the message in his head (, j/k) that if the condition is good, don't worrry bout km's, cos it's a little more km's than he wants. Besides that, if it's in as good as condition as you say it is, throw $36k on it - don't go below $35K if it is immaculate. That's my theory anyway. $36k would be a good buy for a local, immaculate manual turbo. -
Hehehe, see my thread (a few down from this one) Hard to tell from those agent pics. What i did, just like bOneR has done, was ask if anyone knew just the general layout, or general style. See if the knew what brand it looked like it belong to. I was told mine was a 'Carrozzeria' style head unit, or that it looked like one. So i went to auctions.yahoo.jp - and plugged that in. Couldn't understand a word, but just started clicking on all the things for sale and looked at the pictures. Eventually found it, Carrozzeria FH-P7000MD So yeah, looks like you've already got a starting point. Hit the yahoo auctions, and see what comes up for Alpine (a shiteload!) then see if u can fin the Japanese for 'dual din' or '2 din' - that maybe even listed in english. best of luck cheers.

Yes to cash! I saved for 2 years and have got the Poosar in the mean time, paid outright and still got some left over for some investement, smart shit like not buying a GT-T No loan, crazy interest rates. I think the way that insurance companies don't worry about P's and power to weight is because Vic Roads allows the car to be registered. The only prob would be if you went to register a locally delivered R32 GTR.. well prob any R32 GTR. Only one on record. Just Cars seem to pay out for p platers on turbo cars afaik, so they don't seem to have a prob with it?

It's been 2 long years, but the R34 is coming...
SS8_Gohan replied to SS8_Gohan's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Cheers Absud, Terreto. I have thought about no wing, i'll see how it goes. Cos it's coming off so i can stand back and have a look, see what she looks like. Nismo R-Tune?? Damn, stepping out aren't we! I really have no idea about suspension, so i better read up. And Dale, the kit could be a problem due to ADR's. As my car is a test vehicle, it needs to be relevant to the engineering evidence for the R34. It's kinda complicated, but it's being checked out at the moment. There is an engineer checking it the pics, etc, see if there are any ADR's the kit doesn't comply with. The wing may be a problem. As if it wasn't a big enough problem already! cheers guys -
How long u had the R31 for? I've still got my Nissan Pulsar hatch, '91 1.6ltr. Had that for... 1.5 years? Like what Intensevil said, good to get some experience, and i'm glad i didn't get the R33 in the end when i was 18 (nearly 19) so i saved a bit more, got some driving experience with the Pulsar and just got the GT-T now. But sounds like you've got a bit of driving under your belt anyway with the R31. So i reckon you should be fine, but yeah, just check out insurance first as well. cheers and best of luck!

Cheers Franks, Guilty. You know how long it's been Franks, i remember you popping your head into a few threads of mine when i was asking about the R34 GT-T, and various other R34 things since Well officially it's $28.9K + on road costs. Bout $2k worth of those. But unofficially it's a little less Got compliance pretty cheap But to give you a relevant figure, i think it was gonna be about high $30K's on the road. It was a good price, and i had to wait a little while for that. Locally tho, Manual turbos still don't seem to be going under $35K yet. I'm sure they will tho. Dale, i may need that swap when it complianced or vehicle inspection. I'll let you know what's going on closer to the date. I'm considering the dorifto look as well.. see what it's like. oh and Franks, i'm looking to get a real good suspension setup. Is a full whiteline pretty much the best you can go? There differen't packages? -
I've actually already spoken to Mobility Engineering (only place to have engineernig evidence for R34's) about the Xenon headlights. So i'll give them a call and ask what's the go with the kit. And i might even give DOTARSEHOLES a call, get the word straight from the horses mouth. But i don't think i'll have much luck there. Hopefully all i need to do is replace the rear spoiler.

I just to say that NO GTR engine, 32, 33 or 34 has 206kw's from the factory!!! That is the same for the Twin Turbo Supra, etc. For a stock GTR to make about 190kw's at wheels (some mag did it HPI or something, and also someone over at SDU ran their stock as a rock GTR on a dyno) taking into account roughly 30% drivetrain loss, GTR engines from the factory make about 250-260kw's. R34's prob more 260kw's. Which makes 100% sense as a R34 NEO RB25DET makes 206kw's, yet the R34 GTR with the RB26DETT is also suppose to make 206kw's? I think not. GTR engines are 250-260kw's. End of story. It was the stupid 'gentlemans agreement' between the manufactures and i think maybe the government? 206kw limit. THat is no longer. You have a GTR? cheers.

hey dark, good to see ya back mate. There was a thread started not long ago about a trip to a hospital?? i didn't get details, anyways, hope all is well. and that is great piece of comical writing! blower valves, 10sec 0 - 100, fires under bonnets, tacho's making cars go faster, drilling holes in rims?? wtf?? maybe they meant exhaust?? it's quite scary what comes out of the mouth of some police ppl.
-
hahah, DOTARSEHOLE, oh how i WISH i could get those as my number plates! hahah yes the wing is poo! hence my signature! May go dorifto look as well before the GTR wing goes on after rego. Yep, indicators are original, i don't think they move even with GTR's? Looks to be same same spot across all R34's, Nismo kit or no kit, GTR or not GTR. hmmmm... looks like i'll have to get onto the ppl that did the evidence package for the R34. See what they think.... Cheers Troy, Shan... fingers crossed...

There is another mornington 'liner here, can't remeber the nick exactly, Rhett or something like that, might on P's too? he should be able to give ya a bit more geographical relevant info. I just bought a GT-T, got about 1 year left on my P's. From what i've heard, if you don't drive like an idiot, don't draw attention to yourself, you should be fine. Well i hope so!
-
heheh, i'm sure i couldn't tell even if i had the hubble telescope, knowing the work that you do. did u read my post about the kit being a problem for compliance? i'd like to know what you think about that. I thought it would be ok, like shan, cos it was factory. But apparently it's more dependant on engineering evidence, rather than whether it's factory or not.
-
Thank Sam, yeah, hopefully won't have a 'total tool moment' and do something stupid. Then again, i don't know if it was the owners fault in the other thread.
-
that's what i was saying to Dean, but i was missing the point. That being, doesn't really matter if it's factory, cos the original car the was crashed and engineered (the first R34) was most prob bog stock. Meaning there is no engineering evidence for the kit on the car. Dean was saying things like the rear wing being a hindrance to... f*ck it, i'll just paste in what he said. He explained it really well. first post: hi, that kit will not pass compliance, i doubt anyone will do the required engineering for a kit, if its factory fitted by nissan its a possibility, but for a kit that is supplied to a car as an accessory will not pass. there are specific guide lines as to how a car should appear and bodykits factory fitted or otherwise will not be allowed, if it was a normal compliance car, its possible to do, but as a sample car that inspectors are going to crawl over, they will pick it and it will become a discussion item that u will have to prove is factory fitted and does meet all the adr requirements, which u wont be able to do. there are a number of reasons why a kit wont pass and just a few would be. rear spoiler will impede the view through the rear window, front spoiler may affect air bag deployment and side skirts will change the height of the vehicle from the road, all these specs have to be supplied with the engineers reports. stereo systems dont affect adrs. second post: your missing the point, when an engineer does all the testing for a particular vehicle, it is generally a bog stock car. if your car is not identical to the engineered vehicle, it simply wont pass. everything on a r34 that does not meet adrs has to be modified to meet adrs, the spoiler etc wont have engineering evidence and without it, it wont comply. put simply there are 2 sample vehicles, the first one the engineer does all the testing on and then your car, your car must be identical in virtually every way to the original engineers test car.
-
Troy do u think that kit is going to be a problem for compliance? It's a factory kit, but i've just been talking to Dean over at www.upimports.com.au and he said i could have a lot of trouble with it?? you have any thoughts bout it? It definitely is a Nissan kit, just not made by them, but came from the factory like that.
-
oh kool, so many things to do ONCE the car is regoed! if you welded the holes up troy, would u then have to strip back/respray the entire quarter panel? they are definitely going to be filled up somehow. Do you think it would stuff up compliance if i got it fixed before vehicle inspection and put a stock spoiler back on? The stock rear spoiler wouldn't be a problem, but i'm not sure if a little fix up like repair the holes would be... i'm guessing this is a fairly expensive process to fix what's left behind from the rear wing? cheers
-
oh kool, that would be tops. I'm sure i can find one in Japan though if need be. Was it for sale here? Or somewhere else? cheers
-
Would it be hard to make all 4 lights come on when braking, AND when you don't have your parkers/lights on? Hard to wire that up?

at least my wang is bigger than urs!

SS8_Gohan replied to SS8_Gohan's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
lol, haha, but TV2 is my friend! Altho black has grown on me considerably, and due to the costs of full respray, the idea is floating away. Especially when u see black cars like this one.. makes it hard to change colours oh yeah, kit staying for compliance, and will have to stay till about september, but AFTER that, the new kit will be ready to go. But a standard GT-T wing isn't going to bother the compliance place either, either way it will be factory parts. [yoda] rare the kit may be [/yoda] but whatever kit the car came with, was always going after compliancing and vehicle inspection. Someone can get it then if they wish -

AH! so confusing! But i think we agree it's a kit offered from the factory by Nissan, but is made by Altia. oooo, TV2 GT-T I'm actually not going to touch any engine/intake/exhaust mods to start with. Going to deck out the suspension side of things first. Like a FULL whiteline kit, altho i think i read somewhere that they aren't that great? - My theory is make the car go faster, without increasing power Don't know if it will work in practise tho! -

hahahha, so much wang!! ahhhh!! I'd be more than happy with a original GTT rear spoiler, i'm trying to find one here, but i'm sure i'll find one in Japan before she ships if i have to. The WHOLE kit is going anyway, so the wang is gonna have to go! Nothing of that kit will be staying (hopefully...) cheers. EDIT: ooooo, my profile has been updated. I now have a Car(S) listing! yay -
Yeah i know, i'd like a genuine rear wing but if i can't find one i'll have to get a fibreglass one at least it's not something that is going to get hit/chipped as easily as say a front bar.
-
Cheers Dale, but i can actually get fibre class copies for $350 - carmate.com.au - I was hoping someone wanted to sell their genuine rear spoiler, perhaps i should change the title to 'genuine' thanks anyway tho!
-
As the title says, i'd like to buy a standard R34 rear spoiler, car is black, so preferably black. Car currently has a Altia rear wing, and will swap if someone wants it (plus a little cash adjustment) Pics here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=42472 cheers!
