It's been 2 long years, but the R34 is coming...
SS8_Gohan replied to SS8_Gohan's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
hahha, yes, i noticed that stain too! I was told it was nothing major, should come off with a clean, J-Spec know some ppl to take it too once it lands. Yeah Adam, thought bout no wing, it will come off so i can see how it looks then. cheers, Astroboy. And Dale, where could i get a wing for $400? u talking copies or genuine Nissan? I can get one for $350 fibre glass copy, but if i can get a genuine one for $400 i'll def go genuine. You sure you don't want the wang? It's a nice big wang, i heard you could do with a bigger wang But might be a goer on the kit swap tho (plus a little cash adjustment ) have to compare quality of the parts once it lands, i don't think either of us wants to inherit a chipped kit. Hopefully i'll get some more pics before it goes. If anyone wants to get rid of their stock GT-T rear spoiler (black preferably), let me know! and the head unit. Apparently the mob i'm shipping the car with, this stuff is covered under insurance or something, and if it gets stolen, i just say i had a 21" flat panel, touch screen display with DVD sat nav , cash pls! -
hahah Never seen the black one at RMIT, altho, i'm not there a lot Use to see a black one parked on Beach rd, just a little bit down from 'The Stokehouse' a fair bit. Use to have gold rims, but now has black P1? Buddy club rims. Haven't seen it for a while tho... So you bog the holes up, then paint over them? Wouldn't that mean the whole qtr panel needs to be sprayed cos you could tell where you painted? Know anyone who could bog it up for me? guess i should go update my profile! yay! lifes little pleasures... one other thing, do both the rear afterburners light up when you have your front lights on? Or is one only for braking? cheers
-
 i miss something? i usually do
-
u get the bonnet Adz, i'll see if he has his stock rear spoiler lying around anywhere? but not nice to hear a skyline getting smashed up
-
Thanks everyone. and Jevan, the guy who wanted a R34 for free compliance? I took that But downside is that i have to wait for their vehicle inspection to come around. But i do save a fair bit of money, hard to say no to free compliance. Mobility Engineering in Sydney and Cross over car conversions in Melbourne are currently doing R34's. With Calcars hopefully ready to go in a few months (the place where my car is going). When is the next autosalon by the way? I have a few things planned and the car "maybe" worthy enough... Still waiting for Dale to start a rant about the number of black GT-T's j/k Yep been a looong time, basically the "Join Date" for SAU plus a few months, that's how long.

Thanks guys, i'm one happy chappy except for that bloody wing!!! - nah, the km's, condition, price and few extras more than make up for that. Hopefully it won't be too hard a fix.. 3 piece? shit, didn't even think how the boot was going to open, now that i look at it closely, i can see the line at the end of the 'T' bit, where it doesn't join the side pieces. Maybe i might just loose the 'T' and leave 'fins', 60's style!! as for the respray, still not 100% sure. pretty expensive process. I just remember that my dad use to deal with Dupont all the time with this business, so maybe some cheap connections there to some TV2, they might lose a bucket or 2? I'll get the kit/suspension right first, then sus out a few avenues for respray, call some friends. cheers y'all -
My Pulsar NEEDS 5th from a little under 60km/h onwards, she seems to struggle too hard otherwise poor girl. I thought having lower revs is better for fuel consumption. I noticed on my dad's 530i, on the dash, even at 60 it will shift to the highest gear (M5), lower revs, better fuel consumption?
-
Talking about power per litres etc, what about the BMW M3 CSL? 3.2ltr, Straight Six, N/A 265kw's - that's what i call impressive. No turbo, same number of cylinders, less litres than the Ford. Plus a shiteload of carbon fibre Carbon fibre roof anyone?
-
haha, so if you bought from direct from Dupont you'd have a better chance of a closer match? Does Nissan get all their paint from Dupont, so technically u'd be getting factory paint? oh and troy, not sure if you've looked at the pics of the car from the link, but apparently the heinously ugly rear wing is BOLTED onto the sides of the car! i thought if u unbolted the middle pillars it would be off, apparently not. Is it a lot of work to fill in some holes, and clean up the area where it was bolted? cheers.

damn it Nissan not happy jan! is it hard to fix? fill the holes in, and clean it up?? gatty-> better hope it hasn't been driftin' It is an 1998 car, and not everyone cleans their engine bays i guess.. And my Pulsar is actually 1.6ltr, 57kw at the fly, FWD, - So yeah, a "slight" step up -
dude, that is hella PHAT!!! what rims and suspension u got going there? sorry, don't know of any 350z sites, but maybe you could just search for 300ZX of Fairlady sites, i'm sure there would be a few of those forums. And would be a good source of VQ engine info, mods etc. i'm sure there are enough knowledgable ppl here tho to help you most ur q's! again, awesome ride mate! cheers

Cheers guys, Sorry Munky, but can't say i share the same feelings about the rear wing Do you know if the rear wing is stuck down on the sides as well?? Or is the only connecting place the pillars?? Cos i'm def taking it off, but not sure if it's gonna leave marks on the side, or even if it's stuck to the side? cheers -
go Midnight Purple 3!!! if it was getting mixed up, is it spot on? Like, you either get TV2 or u don't? There's no, it's nearly the right colour? Will it still change colour slightly depending on the light? Cos i know TV2 looks changes a little.
-
hehe, thanks shan, greg. Yes the wing is a little "out there" i might find a happy home for it, cos it sure ain't going to be my home yeah greg, bit of step up from the 1.6ltr Pulsar ah yes shan... i remember you have the Dupont prices/catalogue for all Nissan paint codes or something?? I'd be VERY interested in how much some TV2 would cost, do you know how much i would need? Maybe i can get an Iridium finish on the car to match my Oakleys heheh

cheers Brendan, does the engine look normal to u? Engine pics aren't usually taken on the that angle, so not sure if it's meant to be angled like that? -
http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=42472 Some Vic ppl like to stay in Vic, which is fair enough. Victoria, it's the place to be! so i thought i'd post this here as well. Yes, i know, ANOTHER black R34 GT-T But plans are underway, and hopefully will stick out from the crowd and be unique. It's been a long time peeps, and even though u guys haven't been all snobby just cos i don't have a Skyline, still feel like part of SAU more now that i've bought one. cheers everyone!
-
hey everyone, well i wasn't sure when to start this thread, when i had the car in my driveway or when i bought it, but i'm kinda excited bout the whole thing so i'd thought i start it now . As the title says, it's been 2 long years and close call with a R33 GTS-T (nearly got one back in Nov '02) and also property investment, but i've finally purchased myself a Nissan Skyline R34 GT-T! yay! All i've done since joining SDU and SAU was save, save, save. Still haven't driven a Skyline yet, and i've currently got a '91 Pulsar hatch (1.6ltr) so it's going to be interesting to say the least - Anyways, you prob just want pics/details, so here they are! 1998 Nissan Skyline R34 GT-T Black 5 Speed. 48,000km's 17" AVS Model 5 rims, Advan Neova tyres (255/40) rears, not sure what up front Carrozzeria FH-P7000MD head unit CD/MD (99% sure of this, hard to tell from the pics) Nismo/Altia kit. No accident history. Here she is: Car is currently still in Japan, should be here, towards end of the month. I was thinking the other day how the hell i even found out about Skylines, i can't remember for the life of me. It's really only been 2 and bit years i've known about them. Either way, it's been a long wait as i'm sure it has been for many of you guys'n'gals with your pride and joys. Many things are planned, and hopefully i'll be on the road soon waving to every Skyline that goes passed! cheers y'all! EDIT: Whoever wants to swap the rear wing for a stock one is MOST welcome. Not the biggest fan. Even keen to swap body kits if ppl are interested. EDIT 2: I'm getting the car through J-Spec - www.j-spec.com.au - There has been that 'which imported is the best' thread pop up again recently, and from someone who is currently in the middle of the process, J-Spec has been great. Been dealing with Gareth mostly, and has been great with everything, and my million questions. Really recommend these guys if anyone is trying to decide who to import with.

Could be an oldie, but damn this is fat
SS8_Gohan replied to Ronin 09's topic in General Automotive Discussion
hahahaha, apparently not! That is one MEAN Skyline. Damn.... no expensive spared on that baby. 18" Do-luck chrome rims!!! Are they nice or what!?! Haven't checked ur site for a while IanH, man, car's changed a fair bit! Last time i looked it was stock kit and GTR rims. Looking very nice tho! -
Anyone tried this Octone Solution?
SS8_Gohan replied to meshmesh's topic in General Automotive Discussion
hey, if they pay for a free dyno run, why not?? altho if i had a GTR i don't think i'd be letting these sorts of 'pls come try my product, it's great but i don't know why no-one else is using it...' ppl sticking anything it it. Anyways, i've been sold on Roil , so maybe this works as well? cheers -
i think i get it, only cos i'm half chinese and have heard the term used before. In my very little understanding of Japanese, i believe 'gaijin' should have be used, as a 'foreigner'?? and Justin go check your 'Rezz is back' thread, pls , i believe i know what pose you guys were all making at the pub was, the seal that 'some' of u guys had made with your hands. This Silvia 270R sounds interesting, never heard of it, have to go check it out...
-
Well i did read the pages, well most of them. And these's aren't going to kick off until shan has organised various other SAU shit - ie, logos, and then merchandise with logo's, beanies, t-shirts, etc. THEN the key rings will come. So no prices yet, except for estimates of $5 - $10 and won't be coming until the SAU logo is finallised along with SAU merchandise. patience is a virtue
-
hey narkeh, how long did it take for your import approval to come through, from the time you got it sent off?
-
Didn't CR3ATION get his first Silver R34 from there? He should know if the cars are quality or not, or Bass Junky who has the car now... What's he asking for the R34 GTR, the not-sold one? Or if you know the price of the sold one? oh... have a ball with the 34! That's def a dream, to drive a R34 GTR one day... cheers
-
Yeah, COPYME is SAU nick as well, i'm sure you'll find him posting a bit in the S.A. section. And before the 'parents/rich kid' shit starts, he's answered that a few times so if you wanna know u can do a search. Yes it was UPI (Dean's) old car. He started a threat the UPI forums, www.upimports.com.au - looking to sell it. So it's been up for sale at a few places. Very impressive car though if you ask me. And all at 21! I say congrats to him, nice work. cheers
