hmmm... hopefully all is working with my unit. Although, yours sounds a bit more complicated with TV and SAT Nav. I'm just happy i've got an MD unit, cos i've actually got MD's. Such a good audio medium, Sony wasted it completely, didn't put any marketing behind it in this country. Could have been very big.... oh well. fingers crossed regarding the remote, if i don't get it, hopefully i won't need it Remote do anything more, than a 100% working head unit would do?

Xenons would have been removed during compliance (self leveling and cleaning issue) So you have 4 door R34 headlights most prob, or R34 GT headlights. There were factory standard Xenons, so prob best to hunt around or some original factory R34 Xenons. Just check whether the bulbs are the only thing different, does your headlight assembly have 'Xenon' written anywhere? Some places just changed the wiring/powerpacks for the globes. but i think most places replaced the entire assembly unfortunately. I'm sure there would be quite a few places in Brisbane that would have R34 Xenons, seem to be quite a import capital up there.

so, if it was a race car, to be rebuilt, it pretty much returns to factory levels? is there someone who signs off on this rebuilding work at some stage?

Does anyone make gear knobs like the BMW M3 ones? well the non-SMG ones... The M3 Logo and H pattern are back-lit? Does anyone make back-lit H Pattern ones? Cos that's always tickled my fancy when i saw the 6 sp M3 gear knobs

raws: um... i haven't been able to get onto you directly, but have organised everything with millisa??? You've got the VIN number of the car, the Build date, i sent you the invoice - car is paid for, shipping is being organised. I thought we had worked everything out, or at least Millisa had told you what was going on? EDIT: PM Sent

pre complianced mods and compliancing

well i can't help a lot, but i just got a car from Japan and it has 17" AVS Model 5's on it, i bought some stock rims in Japan. So when it hits the compliance place, stock rims will be on, ticked off, and then i'll put the Model 5's back on. I think it's best to do as much as you can in Japan. So the car you are supplying the compliance place is stock. www.upimports.com.au should have R33 compliance up and running pretty soon. Maybe give them a call. cheers -
hahahahahah - nice one. keyboard warriors, UNITE!

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA - man, i think back at SDU or even here a while ago, there was a thread for 'funniest threads' and this would soooo be in the running.' i have NO IDEA what's prev gone on with all you mofo's but keep going, cos i'm laughing my head of. especially... hahahah :) am i correct in saying Duncan, you were at Targa Tassie? If that doesn't qualify for "getting your cars out and racing them" i have no f*cking idea what does, full F1 team??

UPI - Ultimate Performance Imports - www.upimports.com.au Dean or Chris should be able to help you out with pretty much anything there. Starting to compile R33's soon as well. Have their vehicle inspection tomorrow i think? cheers.

i had no idea how much work goes into repairs, crazy stuff but sounds like a very high quality repair. i didn't really want to post this in here, but it's easier for you to reply here than PM, so how's $2000 cash upfront for the body kit work? front/rear bumper? Am i ball park here $ wise? (can edit/delete this later if something is worked out, keep the thread strictly ur repair updates) yeah, pics would be nice. wanna see all this black dust, wet sanding, 800 grit stuff.

i don't think a contract would be a waste of time. Doesn't have to be a manuscript, could probably put all the conditions etc, on 1 A4 page. Just list their conditions, contract (payment for work) is null and void if the following are not adhered too.. >5km. blah blah. I think the point of contracts are to return you to the same position you started at, if something goes wrong. That means anything you've paid etc. Sorry to hear about the 86km's mate, especially for a gem of a car like yours. I'd be keen to hear of some of the things ppl do to stop this sort of thing happening. ie fuses being pulled as was mentioned earlier. cheers.

Only know the very basics of reading these things, but that's look like a nice linear power curve yeah?? Good result, so what have you done to the car since the conversion to a +T?
-
i don't actually have the car yet (bought, but stilll in japan) hence the bad quality pics. just wondering does anyone even recognise just the general layout of the head unit? Does it look like a Sony or JVC, etc? I've tried Clarion, Addzest, JVC, Phillips, Pioneer, but none of their cd receivers look like this one. Not surprising, this head unit could be quite a few years old, so could still be one of the above brands, but just an older model and hence not on the site anymore. cheers.
-
Hi everybody! Does anyone know what head unit is this?? Even a company/manufacturer would be very helpful! sorry about the bad quality, was cropped and blow up from smaller pics. if anyone has any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated. I was told could possibly be cd/cassette, but doesn't look like a cassette could fit anywhere. Looks like a CD slot up the very top, but i don't know what the rest is for cheers!

Hey AFRO, beautiful car mate, as you can see from my avatar, it's the car i want, but unfortunately my budget couldn't stretch to a 2000 model (year Nissan started producing TV2 GT-T's) so i've just bought myself a 1998 Black R34 (but most prob get full respray to TV2 as there are a SHITELOAD of black R34's in Melb! :P) I rang Just Cars, they quoted me $2467 - 20 yrs old, no bad history at all (touch wood), rating 4. Unfortunately no monthly payments. And for those wondering about the rims, there are a few differences between SI and SII R34's. Interior: Two tone (whitish, kinda more cream, and normal black colour) steering wheel and gear knob. Exterior: Different front bar (altho AFRO's is an Altia item) Darker rims, more GTR colour. Engine: More torque, not sure exactly how much, bout 20nm prob. Differential: Helical as compared to Viscous from the SI I think that's about it. Congrats on the car mate, and that is an AWESOME price too! Wish that car was advertised more widely, i would have definitely be contesting you for it! cheers.

thousand years of pain jutsu? Is that from Naruto? The hand seal that one of you guys were making is kinda like the one they use to perform ninja techniques in Naruto. But not quite

BMW are more drivers car, period. Aren't C class FWD? Even BMW's 1 class is going to be RWD. Yeah what bills exactly? Every car has to be serviced regularly and when you are buying a mid-late 90's BMW you don't have to go the expensive BMW service. Sure you might be able to grab a free latte or whatever, but it's not really worth it. The only expensive thing i could see is the parts. But then again, genunine 'anyone' parts are expensive, be it Nissan, Merc, etc. It's all relative, and relatively, i don't think it costs a lot more to maintain a BMW, and add to that the fact you are buying a very well built car where the chance of something going wrong is a lot less. I definitely think you will be very happy with a E36 M3 (3.2 ltr)

but even if the cop was following to prove speed, and then use the supposed recordings of their speed, what if they were slowly catchin up to the car, therefore technically following, but going faster than the car they were following, therefore making their speed recordings of their car not comparible to the car they were following??? or if a cop says they were following, that's taken as bible?
