R33,34 / R32 Attessa, Hicas And Torque Split
SS8_Gohan replied to GTR32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
There is also some DIY type controller that i was reading about in some online AutoSpeed article. From the author, he was apparently amazed at how much faster he could push the R (32 as well). He had quite a few different settings, i think a scale from 1 - 10. I can't remember whether 1 was super dry conditions, or 10 was. I couldn't quite follow the theory behind the little thing he set up but i think the HKS system may have been mentioned. I'll try and find the article for ya. -
Nitto's new CIRCUIT racing semi slick!
SS8_Gohan replied to Merli's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
or the Michelins Pilot Cup (?) tyres on the new BMW M3 CSL, they are practically slicks! Altho with the CSL running 19inch rims as standard, i'd hate to think what the price would be. EDIT: I think those tyres are the reason u need a CAMS license to drive a CSL. Don't think they are the best for the wet. Altho in the last MOTOR mags, PCOTY (performance car of the year) they were fangin around the hills in the wet, and in the CSL and said it was fine, so who knows. -
SuperGimp: All the info you'll need can be found at: www.prestigemotorsport.com.au - www.j-spec.com.au Very detailed outline of what is required and what you have to pay. Prestige has a little flash thing as well going through the whole process step-by-step. As far as i know, you can't just rock up to an auction yard and bid for cars. You might have to be a member, or you might have to pay some fee. But i'm not 100% sure. hope those sites help. P.S. Keep in mind also that the above places can import a car for you no troubles. Also www.upimports.com.au - But that's only if you want to import a car and that's it. Obviously you want to go and explore Japan but don't feel you have to actually go there to get a car, there are people (like the above companies) who can do it for you. cheers

All the captions in the Photo thread have very much piqued my interest! Unfortunately, no pics at the moment ... run out of space Rezz??

APC is a very good band, but just a talented rock band. Where as Tool is just in a league of their own, APC can be likened to other bands where as Tool cannot. Tool is vastly better than APC. Get rid of Maynard from APC and you wouldn't be left with much... well except maybe the guitarist. And who the hell is in APC these days? i've heard things have changed a bit...

Absolute kick ass concert, anyone else here manage to go see em? I was GA and managed to get myself pretty close to the front after all the teen boppers hightailed it out of the mosh once things started. Pretty crazy mosh compared to their last show at Festival hall. Anyways, support band sucked soooo much, they must have sucked something else to get the gig as well. Pardon Me, Waltzing Maltida (yes, that's right. Ben Kenney by himself on Bass led us through that one! ) A Certain Shade of Green, The Warmth, Sick Sad Little World.... many highlights. now, Counting Crows and John Mayer to come at Rod Laver. yay!
-
NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and Maynard was wearing like fur hot pants at the Tool concert with like fluro body paint. Freaky.

So after compliancing, u just need to find yourself a pair of Xenon bulbs? (unless you somehow get to keep them, and put them in after) So they don't change the WHOLE headlight assembly? Cos i guess then if u can keep the original Xenon assembly, it's not TOO bad if u have to find some bulbs. Daz is ur car being complianced by the INTERNATIONAL mob in sydney?? cheers

SS8_Gohan replied to Revhead's topic in General Automotive Discussion

North American car experiences
SS8_Gohan replied to SS8_Gohan's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I'm almost 100% sure the billboard was a G35X -"Coupe"- Anyone wanna send me back to Vancouver to check? It was just outside the airport, oh wait... maybe that was L.A.... oh well, someone can send me to both places and i'll check for ya Another few interesting tid-bits. There highest rating fuel was 91 Octane Now if that is comparible to our petrol, then that's shithouse!! It usually went 87 Normal, 89 Premium, 91 Top stuff. And i thought Australia had shit petrol! Altho i'm guessing 91 Nth American isn't 91 Oz. Saw the "240sx" - or 180sx or 200sx (S13 and S14) - Oh yeah, also i saw quite a few convertible Sil80's. It seemed that every convertible i saw of an S13 was a Sil80, as if you couldn't get it in any other variation. 180sx front, Silvia rear. Weren't too bad looking. And last thing i forgot to mention, practically EVERY car and model has a 4WD variant. BMW 3 Series, or BMW's in general have X-Drive. I think just the X3 and X5, and 3 Series. I don't think it was avaible for 5, 7's. I would LOVE to see an M3-X or Z4 3.0i X - that would be absolute grip central Can't remember what Merc's 4WD drive system was called. But BMW's had an 'X' in the badge. that's about all i remember, oh.. DODGE VIPERS ARE F*CKING PHAT!!! Low and wide as anything!! Would love one. hahah, how could i forget. I went to the "Nissan Open" PGA Tour event. Watched Tiger Woods Rezz - sorry mate!!! I was on holidays and being a lazy bum, so i just looked and would sometimes reach for the camera, but was either too late or couldn't be bothered. I kept thinking of ur thread too! But u take pics of cars we don't have, i'm sure u've seen all the ones i've mentioned. Except maybe the Escalade with the spinning rims cheers -
R34 Compliance Now eligble to import.
SS8_Gohan replied to EVO83's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
So anyone else besides INTERNATIONAL that are close to getting approval for R34 2dr's? Evo?? -
howdy canuck! I was just in Canada in Feb, Vancouver and Whistler. I must say that Australia has flashier cars and Canada has a lot more practical cars, SUV"s etc. Everything has 4WD! BMW 3 series, everything seemed to have a 4WD variant. But being over there in Winter i can see why the big 4WD's are so popular, u bloody need them. I didn't see that many 240sx's in Vancouver. A few here and there. prob a more S14's then 13's. anyways, great country u've got there. And good luck with the car. Oh, and get a R32 GTR, u know u want to!

A must see for all performance enthusiasts!
SS8_Gohan replied to gslrallysport's topic in General Automotive Discussion
oh, and i use Bi-Lo oil in my car!!! yeeeee-haaa!!! If something can make that super-glue like oil better, then i'm all for it!! hahaha, bi-lo. But it's got a checkered flag on the bottle, it's gotta be good! -
A must see for all performance enthusiasts!
SS8_Gohan replied to gslrallysport's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I have a 1991 Pulsar GL Hatch (1.6ltr, 57kw's (@fly) of pure, un-adulterated, front wheel drive GRUNT!!! ) - I'll be a guinea pig if ppl are a bit hesistant with their pride and joy Skylines. -
Thought i'd share some of my car experiences whilst i was away in Canada and USA in Feb. Rice? Not as much as i thought there would be. Obviously USA had more, altho the Canada's were still into it. Basically where-ever there are Honda's, there will be Rice. It's just a given, a law of Nature if you will. But on the whole seem to stop at one mod, either just exhaust or rims or lowered. Saw one Honda with twin exhaust 350Z style, but llike 5 inch tip. But unfortunately, they one side was CONNECTED to anything! Just stuck on under the rear bar, i thought that was pretty pathetic. I was in L.A. and Vegas, and really didn't see too much rice. I think Melbourne has a heap more rice cars. Mustang are REALLY popular and not sure why Ford OZ sell them here more widely, i'm sure they'd real well. V8 and all. There was one which sounded absolutely nuts and looked really mean, any of u Mustang enthusiasts, know anything about a "Mach 1" I think that was the badge i saw. And yes i did see some spinning wheels on an Escalade. L.A. had an abundence of Ferrari's, Porsches, BMW's, Mercs. Some absolutely pimpalicious Merc's. CL500's, jet black tint, lowered, 18inch chromes. Not shit chromes that u see on celica's with the swirling sun-flower look, that look like friggen plastic. But mean, phat chromes. Nissan is doing EXTREMELY well over there. A HEAP of Skylines, or G35's. Coupes and Sedans, 350Z's (lots of those), Altima's, and Murano's. The new 4WD which Nissan oz is having a little trouble with cos of the name, sounds too much like Monaro But yeah, Nissan was doing very well and i must admit the G35 Coupe looks a lot better in the flesh. Another interesting thing i saw was a billboard ad for a G35X Coupe. Yep, that's right a 4WD Skyling Coupe. Just a couple of Turbo's away now! I think the first skyline since the R32 to have the top-spec engine (non-GTR) to go with 4WD. So GTR is looking promising if they've already got a Skyline Coupe with 4WD. In terms of Speed camera's and speed enforcing... NONE! No fixed camera's, no red light/speed camera's. No patrol cars i saw on the many highways of Vegas, Arizona, California, L.A. checking speed. Only time i saw it was in Canada, on the road to Whistler/Blackcomb. It was a particularly twisty, wet and bad conditioned road where they set up shop. I have NO arguments against having patrol cars with speed camera's on a stretch of road like that. That was ALL about safety. WRX's no where near as popular as here. They've also got 2.5 ltr WRX's the bastards. I'm sure they'd go alright Kinda like a 3ltr Turbo Skyline i guess What else was interesting... um, oh. lots of XENONs, lots of cars had xenons, very popular. Lots of M3's too. Saw a couple of new Evo's, not too bad with the visible FMIC that's about all i can remember, sorry bout the long post!

Worst GTR badge placement EVAR!!!
SS8_Gohan replied to Merli's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
also not sure whether the Front GT-R badge is right in the middle of grille either? Looks a bit off set to the right maybe my eye's been so thrown out by the rear badge i can't tell with the front one! -
Worst GTR badge placement EVAR!!!
SS8_Gohan replied to Merli's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Whilst i was in Canada i saw a GTR bade on.... wait for it.... the END of a T-Wing... but wait, there's more. On a car that looked like it was from the 80's, called a Sirocco or something like that? Look like some sort of Hatch from the 80's or poss early, early 90's. I'm almost 100% it was not a nissan of any type. Hopefully some of u guys know what i'm talking about, not sure if i got the 'Sirocco' spelling right. Merli u r right, it is a pissa about the placement of the badge, but maybe the original owner thought the GTR badge was too common, so he 'purposely' mis-placed it? -
I'm quite interested in what you come up with, cos i'm trying to find out costs on Full resprays as well as good places to go. UPI quoted $2250 for a full respray, nothing special tho. anyways, good luck in the search oh... shit dude, so sorry for not replying to ur PM. That's the EXACT car i'm looking for. Altho for $34K it's quite cheap as that colour started in 2000, altho the site doesn't actually saw what yr the car is. 2000 R34 GT-T in TV2, $34K is a real good price but unfortunately more than i wanna spend (Hoping about $28k on the road, with respray). But thanks so much for sending us the link tho!

How many ppl would be here on SAU? 10,000? Maybe? No idea, so that's 170,000 tress. Not too shabby. Does it say where they are being planted?

If i don't buy this property i'm looking at, the 34 i'll be bringing in has always going to be a "response R34". Don't care about the drags at all. I think Troy aka ylwgtr might be the man to ask about a Carbon prop shaft. My plan was to get a kick ass supsension setup, with some real good paws (light rims and tyres). Whiteline had quicker cars at the drag strip with considerably less engine mods on their cars bcos they had much better suspension setups. So make ur car go faster without making any intake/exhaust/engine mods. And then i guess once u got that down, try and trim some weight. But i suppose things like, FMIC, more boost, exhaust, CAI would be needed. And i guess a really good tune. Altho i really know nothing about internals, so in the search for response, i'm not sure what priority would be. I think i would head suspension first, with good rims and tyres. anyways, would love to hear bout what other ppl think would be like the Top 5 things to do in search for response!

woh.... nice work. Just wondering about the guards tho for the front. You've got a 4dr front cut yeah? So the guards aren't going to be as wide as a standard GTR? You just going to beef them up at the end?? anyways, looks like a fun project cheers.

We all know that the cancer man from the X-Files killed JFK, sheesh! Sounds like a crazy crash tho, would love to see some pics.

which one is this? This one of his cars? Or one just in the shop? Or just happened to be there? I think there was one for sale which had had a fair bit done to it. at r33skyline.com or something like that. I think it was silver or white, something like that. Does he still have the Silver R34 GTR, or that get sold? I know the TV2 one went, but i wasn't sure about the Silver one...
