add more fuel to the fire. person i know at work (girl, not a p plater, will add blonde but she's bloody smart tho, done a couple of degrees etc) has a Gen III V8 (5.7ltr) in her Wagon... gets pulled over for doing 103 in a 70 zone. Good Friday "Going a bit fast aren't we?" - Cop "But it's so beautiful out here, got my car, just having some fun" "License pls" - checks license... everything ok "Nice car..." start talking about the car, engine, general car talk "Alright then, have a nice day" - Cop WHAT THE F*CK!!!!! Here is sam being pulled over for not indicating enough and here's another situation where u'd lose your license, but because u'r in a commondore, not a p plater, a girl and not an import, or not anything that looks different (ie, 18inch rims) off you go on ur merry way! burn em to hell Sam, BURN EM ALL TO HELL, MUAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH!!!

the email contained the following: dude, seriously. It's a ****ing Ford Mustang, it's not a Nissan, and it's certainly not a ****ing GTR either!! Take those ****ing badges off u loser! I can't believe u are selling it as a. Ford Mustang GTR!!!! How dumb do u think ppl are!! That's about the saddest thing i've seen ever, right up there with the Honda Civic R34 GTR conversion... pathetic.

Silva, From what i've seen come thru on Prestige Motorsports newsletters is that an R33 GTR would be going for say... high 30's at the VERY cheapest, but more mid 40's. Prob average would be mid to slightly higher 40's. Prob wouldn't be surprised for nice, tidy example to go for a low 50. I haven't seen a R33 GTR come thru on the Geoff's updates for a while but i think that's what i remember seeing them go for. Importing wise. www.prestigemotorsport.com.au and www.j-spec.com.au are both highly recommened from people on this forum. Maybe check those 2 places out. With the new laws, i'd imagine that the compliancing costs for a R33 GTR would have gone up, say $1000? Also it has to be stock, or returned to stock form for the compliancing. cheers.

If u're really stuck, go Prosperion, guarantee the most u'll pay is about 1500/1600 full comp. Unlimited mods, as long as it's street legal. BUT (yes, there's always a but) It's a lot more complicated than normal insurance and it's not just an insurance company either, u pay all car costs thru them. www.prosperion.com.au sorta the same thing happened to me, Oct/Nov '02 was gonna get a R33 GTS-T but parents pulled out at the VERY last moment, i was at the place putting down a deposit on a compliance plate. I was paying for most of the car, parents were putting in $5k but they wouldn't let me cos it was Turbo. Didn't like the idea of importing either, stupid parents!! They suck! anyways, good luck. EDIT: roflmao at Troy!! hahahahah :bahaha:

Who here drove/driving a drive a skyline on p's??
SS8_Gohan replied to YnVmE4's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Vic power to weight ratio explained: no more than 125kw's per tonne... example: Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-T: Weight: 1370kg (give or take) = 1.37 tonnes. Power: 187kw (give or take) 187/1.37 = 136.5kw's per tonne. Illegal But cops don't seem to care, there are lots of P platers driving over powered cars aroudn but technically u can get fined etc for it. I've been driving a little Nissan Puslar hatch for a year now (got my P's April '02) as my parents wouldn't let me get a turbo about 6 months into my P's (80% my money too) So i've been waiting, saving!!! and most importantly gaining experience on the roads. And looks like i'm on target for saving $27k by October. So if i can make up my bloody mind, it will probably be R34 GT-T time. Still not sure. I'm sure all this driving in a crappy hatch will help in the long run, well it migh not as well. I think doxx's idea is good, get the car and learn in it. So when u are on ur own u'll be real comfortable with the car, and u'll know how it reacts in lots of different conditions. cheers. -
hahahahah, roflmao, brilliant!! sorry narkeh, that's pretty funny! :bahaha:

a little trick for wheel jobs, u can use a 3D transform in photoshop so u can get the wheels profile looking more accurate. I know it was just a quick job, but just saying if u wanna get a really good idea, use the 3D transform. anyway, looks very tidy!

just looking around for who invented the turbo charger, seems BMW had the first passenger car with one, the 2002 in 1973 but the renault ad says they "created" it? i dunno.. anyways, just came across this, and i'm like cool. Skyline gets a mention "Turbo looses steam Multiple valves and double-overhead camshaft designs developed reasonable performance without the complication of turbo-charging, and these methods were politically correct too since they consumed less fuel. Consequently today there are only a few petrol-powered road cars that still use turbo-chargers for enhanced performance. Computers soon started playing an even bigger role in cars. Engine management systems linked to fuel-injection systems meant getting more out of the engine was even easier. For example, one can buy chips that can boost power by 100 bhp for some Japanese cars, such as the Nissan Skyline. Moreover, on-road speeds were being restricted all over the world. Though most of the sports cars today are capable of doing more, they are restricted electronically not to exceed 250 kmph even in autobahn-blessed Germany" 100bhp from a chip or PowerFC or whatever, is that a bit of a strecth or realistic?

i reckon it will look smichk once it's back in "da bay", silver and yellow looks awesome. Polish up some silver parts as well, i think it will go even better. Now, can anyone tell me if Renault invented the turbo charger???? just saw the "ceramic turbo" silver plate from one of ni's pics, just reminded me of it.

how's the trip going Andrew? why u coming back earlier than expected? Go skiing? check out Montery?? Can i ask one more question to piss u off good to hear from ya.
-
well said 007 just getting back to the tare weight thing, so do u mean if you were pulled over, questioned about power to weight, but u had a full car plus luggage, and roof racks with ski's for good measure u couldn't say that u were under the power to weight ratio? Well from what i've read, GTS-t 187kw, at like 1370kg? Making it 187kw's at 1.37 tonnes = 136.5kw/tonne R34 GT-T, 206kw at 1410kg = 146.1kw/tonne (whoops!!)

Howdy Kylie Just got the car? Man, i'd be super excited too, yet to know the feeling.... hopefully in a few months. Welcom to SAU!! p.s. watch out for a guy called "Inark", he's like Saddam Hussein and Hitler roled into one New Zealander package!
