  1. did the quote come with a price break-down? ie, what the ecu component is worth? you might find getting a Link G4 from NZ is cheaper than the aussie G4 but definitely have a look in the for sale section for second hand PFC's
  2. 4wd or 2wd dyno?
  3. You may as well get it all done at the same place, don't see much point getting install done a place a) and then alignment done at place b) - make the drive to Traction Tyres, definitely worth it. Do you have sway-bars?
  4. performance workshops wouldn't be licensed roadworthy places, that i know of
  5. you're probably better off to SMS the mobile on the website, as opposed to email. get a Link G4 and go flex-fuel setup
  6. yeah, Ash is right, for our cars, mods done properly will definitely add value, but obviously not at a 1:1 ratio of what you paid you could probably work out a very rough idea of $ spent on mods vs value added to car, like say 30% or something like that. I sold my GT-T last year for low 30's, compared with say high teen's for a basic manual GT-T - so done properly with quality mods, should definitely add value A nice V-Spec II, low kms - fairly stock, low $60K's sounds about right - nicely basic modded one for around mid-high $60K's i'd say.
  7. also look at a Link G4 for some more features.
  8. from memory we all met up at some Mobil/BP/servo just out on the start of the ring road - i'll be going from the bayside area if you're anywhere near
  9. anyone driving up Sat morning?
  10. Trent will still be tuning, but i believe will just have limited days to do so each week. Otherwise, Paul @ Westside Chasers would be your next best bet. But definitely try Trent first as for mpc........... go Trent or Paul
  11. it's worth just paying the extra for someone who knows what they're doing Racepace would be pretty close to you?
  12. ok, got it. for those that are interested... "DECA Rounds Each Sub-Event of the Event will be scored individually. Points will be awarded in order of finishing from highest to lowest as follows: 1st = 50 points, 2nd = 49 points, 3rd = 48 points, 4th = 47 points etc, and so on down to the last competitor. All points from each sub event are accumulated and a total is created with the highest score winning. Classes are AWD and RWD. Penalties: Hit Cone (Make a cone move from it's spot) = +5 Seconds Per Cone Missed Gate/Cone (Wrong Direction) = Slowest Time + 10 Seconds. Did Not Finish = Slowest Time +10 Seconds Did Not Complete Full Course = Slowest Time +10 Seconds (Missed more than 3 Cones) Did Not Start = No Score - Nil points" what's classified as a decent time for the short and long wang?
  13. so how exactly does the competition side of things work? you've got the short and long wang, which are timed... does this get converted into some sort of points or is just +mins/secs from the fastest person? and from memory, there were some penalties for hitting cones etc? and the skidpan is a mixture of time and penalties for cones?
  14. you in melb?
  15. hahaha, i'll drive up with 98, prob like half a tank or something, so when i get to Shep it'll be pretty low, then i'll put in a couple jerries of E85, which i rekcon should be plenty for a day and then fill up with 98 on the way back if need be will prob bring the laptop to see what the E% mixture is before the runs start, but not much more i can do as i have no tuning knowledge. But if Trent says he's happy for the car to do track work with Flex-Fuel active, then i'm happy
  16. Mick_o - what state are you in?
  17. i'll give you my R34 GT-T experience as that's a closer representation to your car. I was running Nistune, 740 cc injectors, high flow turbo, z32 afm, drop-in Walbro replacement i could get low 300km's to a tank around town. So with the turbo you're getting (great choice by the way) you're probably best off to get some ID1000's (injectors), should be able to get into the 300rwkw's without too much drama I wouldn't worry too much about your sards being compatible... as you'll need bigger ones anyway to be safe. You'll want to know what the fuel pump situation is like though. With that turbo and E85, you'll be needing some decent suspension to help it stay on the road though! I had ku36's with bilstein/whiteline shocks/springs and pretty much the rest of the whiteline catalogue, swaybars, camber/caster kits, pineapples etc. That was enough to handle the 285rwkw i had with the GT-T The other option is to sell the Nistune board (should go in a second if it's ready for the 33) and get a Link G4 and ethanol content sensor. Then you can setup flex-fuel and run any % of E85 or 98 unleaded. Never had to worry about running out of E85 as your ECU will change things on the fly for you depending on the fuel
  18. just a quick q, can other people drive your car if they're a registered entrant?
  19. that's a good point, cheers i'm in! so long since my last deca, nov 08 i think... shall be her first time driven in any real anger.... should be interesting
  20. sweet thanks guys Ash.... oh so tempting but i just have too much mechanical symptahy to do it not sure if i'm in yet anyway...
  21. for the GTR owners, is it worth upping the oil weight for a DECA? or will the streeter 10w40 still be ok? i'm thinking because most 'events' are short and sharp, i can prob leave the normal oil in there? that's if i'm even in.... ooo the suspense
  22. they use to be fairly strict on that. back when i first got my GT-T and insured it with Shannons i was 21 (maybe even 20, not sure) and they said the only reason they were willing to insure me was because i was a member of a CAMS affiliated car club and that normally they don't go that young. But it definitely seems to have relaxed over the years, perhaps they just don't like to advertise this though...

    Stolen!

ok, not where i was thinking. If you were down the other end you might have some CCTV options. definitely check though if any of the buildings might have CCTV looking at that part of the street.
