  1. not looking to go highmount on the 26 - would have to be low mount twin option, so i don't think your trial turbo will be that useful. what sort of response loss would you expect from not using the roller bearings? Trent and i talked about VCT on exhaust side on the 26, didn't seem to be worth the hassle from what Trent said. Maybe why HKS ditched the idea for their 26 R+D
  2. Trent and I played with the airbox, lid, no lid etc etc when i had the GT-T - no difference. 285-290rwkw E85 OP6 highflow, one of the original HG turbos 17-18psi i believe. Manual. Stao, do you have any VNT turbos running in cars other than your own? How do you think they will handle motorsport applications? I'd be very tempted to try it in a twin low-mount on my GTR (if it can fit) but given costs involved in working on GTR turbos i'd like to know i wouldn't be taken them off again for a refresh etc after a few track days
  3. aaahhh... they sit a bit high don't they......
  4. hmmm.... interesting.... so how much is a ready-to-go kit, twin EFR 6258's? had a look at the full-race site but it's just the price of the two turbos
  5. my fueling is a single Nismo intank pump, good for 400 - United E85 i'd have a crack with your injectors as well... you might be surprised.
  6. so just to clarify, would these 6258's be classified as bigger than say HKS 2530's?
  7. make sure you have the right Edge 10-60, i think there are a few versions? a sport/platinum somethine-a-rather variant? They might not be all SN rated.... possibly....
  8. can help out with some Nismo AFM's if need be
  9. Shane's always looked after me and plenty of other SAU'ers at Traction Tyres - got a killer alignment setup now too. They're pretty heavy into their motorsport, so they know what they're talking about...
  10. WV2 - kv2 is the pewter one i believe.... def no pewter look/shade to my car. She's now more Midori too
  11. doesn't that cut off airflow to your airbox?
  12. i'm sold, techedge it is http://wbo2.com/2j/2j9.htm So all i need is 2J9 + cables + sensor? (17123)
  13. sounds good to me, i'll email him to explain my setup and see what he recommends.
  14. so where is the point of difference in all these products? the sensors will be quite similar yeah? just bosch units or what-not? is the difference in the controller bit? i thought all we want it to do is send an accurate AFR and that's it and let the ECU handle the rest?
  15. just find an SN rated oil, it's as simple as that. And really, unless you're doing regular UOA, there isn't really much to tell by just looking at it. You need to monitor for a few changes to see any trends in particular metals you're looking for to indicate wear, and to see how much (if at all) the oil is breaking down.
  16. is the 'no calibration' feature something unique to the AEM? because i think that's where my innovate is going shitty
  17. i have a Link G4 plugin, and i believe we put it in there as a back-up to the ethanol sensor, so if it packs it in, and there's a weird mix in there, the wideband can jump in and changing timing etc. i think Trent had it set to trim to target AFR on cruise as well? not sure if that's on at the moment. So given that, i don't need anything serious yeah? Do i need a controller at all? or do i just need a sensor that feeds a signal to the ECU as that will control everything? Or do you always need that controller as an intermediary?
  18. Zeitronix: http://www.zeitronix.com/Products/zt2/zt2.shtml around $280 USD - no disply, that's fine. Some specs 0.1 AFR accuracy Operating voltage 10V to 18V Switching power supply for oxygen sensor heater Precise sensor temperature control Reverse polarity protection Integrated self-resetting fuse Positive lock connectors Protected inputs and outputs Flexible Plug and Play Sensor Harness with a small, easy to route through the fire wall, connector Wideband Oxygen Sensor included Easy to install plug and play kit Adjustable Narrowband Switching Point Warning Alarms and Triggers Bosch Wideband O2 sensor Input Linear Wideband Output AFR = Volts * 2 + 9.6 Serial data output to the Zeitronix LCD, ZR-1 AFR, and ZR-2 Multi-Gauge Displays Serial data output for real time datalogging (PC laptop required) RPM Input (tachometer, primary side ignition coil, crank, cam sensor). The RPM input works in any car and any ignition system. No additional adapters needed! Simulated and adjustable Narrowband Output to feed a stock ECU Throttle Position Sensor Input Boost (MAP) Sensor Input: - 50 PSI (3.5 Bar) MAP Sensor, or 75 PSI (5.0 Bar) MAP sensor or 150 PSI (10 Bar) MAP sensor Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) probe Input User1 Input: - 0-5 volt analog input. Voltage data is viewable on all models of the LCD display. Software support for the display of Zeitronix pressure sensors. - Customized data conversions can be entered to match 0-5 volt sensor specifications. All converted User1 data values are displayed only in the software. User2 Input: - 0-5 volt analog input OR configurable to be used with Fuel/Oil/Boost pressure sensors and Air/Water/Oil/Transmission temperature sensors. - Data is displayed on the 2010 Model LCD and ZR-2 Multi-gauge as a pressure or temperature. - Zeitronix Data Logger software will display and log data according to sensor type. - Customized data conversions can be entered to match 0-5 volt sensor specifications. Customized data conversion values are displayed in the Zeitronix Data Logger software only. Warning Output for use with ZAVT-1 warning/trigger box 5V output for sensors Is that overkill in terms of that inputs and TPS/MAP sensor inputs? I don't need that info going to the wideband yeah? 3A Techedge is fairly pricey.... i take it there is more to just feeding an AFR reading to the ECU? http://wbo2.com/home/products.htm
  19. hey ho thinking of changing my innvoate wideband over to something else... getting some weird readings from it and they appear to be fairly hit and miss units at the best of time anyway (lots of calibration required) interested in who's running what.... zeitronix, aem have some decent rep from my google trawling (but mostly U.S. forums) - aem getting a lot of love. don't need guages etc... just the sensor to provide a reading to the ECU, that's it. thoughts, keen i am chinny
  20. just find an SN rated oil, pretty simple - then choose desired weight/viscosity - we all probably change oils enough that any SN will be fine i think there is SN+ now as well
  21. Trent's the best to go to see for tuning... anything, unless it's a wolf Go to unitedpetroleum.com.au or unitedpetrol.com.au - search for just 'E85' and see how the locations of those servos work for you.
  22. good answer E85 time!! You could go flex fuel for not much more, would fit in your budget. Or just full time E85 considering how much you drive it. Madness not too.
  23. How often/much do you drive your car.?
  24. Chequered Tuning - 110% How often/much do you drive your car. I'd seriously consider getting a Hypergear turbo as well. As for ECU's, i think Trent would pick the Nistune over the FC for a GT-T - but i'd be seriously looking at the offerings from Link/Vipec/Haltech as well. Not up-to-date about who offers what for the GT-T. Best to check this with Trent. If you went with a newer ECU, you'd be running MAP sensor, so don't need a Z32 - but will if running Nistune and a bigger turbo. Add some whiteline adjustable swaybars into your budget as well. You'll need some injectors too. What Walbro you get?
  25. thinking of maybe just renting out a little 1 bedder in docklands - price doesn't seem to vary a huge amount docklands/cbd/sth melb etc.... anyone in the area currently or have rented there? anything to avoid or good places to check perhaps?
