  1. guys, if a "hand job" won't do it... just get it machined polish with paint polish. prep it (ie, remove polish residue) and apply any wax/sealant. it's pretty damn simple. my car was detailed a year ago, and my headlights are still clear as day.
  2. damn, still having problems mate i've got the G3 (OP6 rear housing) hypergear and with stock airbox, still getting 255rwkw, if you've got a pod add maybe 7-10rwkw more. Is you car auto? My car with the G2 only made around 220rwkw (see the difference between the graph above, that car had a pod but same turbo). If you have an auto, i'm not sure what you would expect from a G2? i don't really know much... but have you dropped the exhaust and done a run?
  3. Hey Ross, clutch received on the tuesday, installed yesterday/today and just doing the run in km's now. Bit heavier than stock, lower take-up point but otherwise an easy live with clutch. Gotta be kind to it for a bit though To anyone else wanting to buy parts, Ross was real easy to deal with, packaged up the JB clutch great and everything arrived as described. good luck with the rest of the parts cheers, daniel
  4. from the wrx forum "I am confident the event will go ahead regardless so we wont need to refund!! If for some reason any of our events are cancelled then there would be a complete refund yes. Cheers"
  5. i take it money is refunded if the day is cancelled?
  6. is there a 'critical mass' to be reached before this goes ahead? or will it go ahead regardless? looking like a lot of track time for those involved at the moment
  7. pfft who needs tuners... haven't you seen the most recent FnF, you just bolt stuff on and start racing! i sense a new reality TV show... "Master Tuner" or "The Biggest Tuner" +1 Trent @ Status and +11ty for having $20K to spend on a new build... dreams.. EDIT: "Changing Tuners", "Backyard Tuners", "Australia's Got Tuners"
  8. how are the spots looking? got a new clutch going in next thursday, plus a few other things being looked over. Just not game enough to pay up yet just in case any gremlins pop-up when fixing the car.
  9. advanced alloys = advanced rip off I've been to my guy in Highett a few times, Craig @ Color(sic)ur mags - Just fixed my bro's rims last saturday. He can do all the polish work, and will make sure he polishes with the grain of the alloy as well. Whatever you want to do with rims, he can do it, and do it properly. As others have mentioned, there are so called "big name" places around who do utter shithouse work and it will just flake off. he's got all the ovens, spray booths, etc, etc... everything can be done in-house unlike some other places...
  10. not sure how this gets you around cop troubles if you have a FMIC, would still stick out like dog bollocks - don't know if other states have the 2 intake mod rules, but if you do, doesn't help if you're running a FMIC
  11. GENUINE west yoko doesn't look much chop IMO i reckon your best bet is the JSAI stuff, from all accounts, you do get through eventually. You'll get what you want without the massive EB price tag
  12. have you factored in rims and suspension? kit will look horrid without. And don't JUST get lowered springs... Front bumper is urethane (hence the price) but i there might be a fibreglass version as well. But everything is fibreglass, skirts, lower skirts, rear bumper. I don't believe you can get anything else in plastic. So price difference would be negligible even if the front bumper is fibreglass.
  13. unless c-red wants to lose money, they won't be able to do the whole kit for $3k. Here's the YEN ONLY prices direct from East Bear 157500- front bumper 58800 - bonnet 63000 - rear bumper 56700 - side skirts 50400 - underspoiler kit there are some slightly cheaper prices if you buy a combo of stuff. So YEN ONLY you're up to 329700 @ 76 yen = $4338 AUD - that's JUST parts. Doesn't include GTR components needed for the bonnet, fitting or spraying either. Oh and a little thing called "shipping" as well. Plugging the PARTS ALONE into importmonsters calculator gets you a $6k price tag delivered @ 77 yen. Then perhaps add $1k for spraying/fitting (cheap price) and we're back at that ~$7k mark.
  14. looks like an east bear bonnet, which would suggest it's originally something else check the big names, top secret, jun, c-west, etc etc. But you can get it from East Bear and no, they're still two completely different bumpers even without the middle things and you can tell from ebay link that the shape of it is shite.
  15. dude, look close. They're two completely different bumpers. The one on the previous page looks like dog crap. the ebay link should not be using pictures of a completely different bumper
  16. ^ don't you have a R32 GTR already?
  17. ok guys, i've ended up with a JB clutch 4400lb clamping pressue hoping it's not going to be too harsh for my GT-T gear box. But thought i'd update on some info i found when ringing around... Ok, the top 3 QLD clutches places, as most know are... Race Clutch (Jim Berry) NPC Direct Clutch JB - $1012 delivered to Melbourne (if you're in QLD, minus ~$30 from that price) This is a rebuilt clutch, standard flywheel (JB does not recommend going lightened flywheel, and this seems to be the current prevailing logic amongst other places as well) New clutch plate, rebuild pressure plate, and i think he said to get a new rear main seal from Nissan, i assuming this is the for the gearbox itself. I would have to send him my clutch though, which is different to the other workshops though... NPC - $753.50 (organic) or $863.50 (ceramic) For some reason pull type clutches (GTT, R32 GTR V-Spec, R33 GTR, R34 GTR) are more expensive to make? go figure... NPC does NOT need my clutch, they just build one I think they use Exedy pressure plates, but it seems like Exedy pretty much make all the parts for most the jap brands. $753 one said that would be fine for my power requirements, etc (300-320rwkw) but that's a clutch that won't be seeing much abuse/launching. They said if i wanted something that can handle drifting, clutch dumps etc, you would need to upgrade to the ceramic (6 puk??) one for $863. They did say it was NOT as street-able as the organic, so even though the price difference was not much there is a choice to be made in terms of what you want in a daily driver. I reckon you'd still get use to the bigger option pretty quick though. Direct Clutch - $462 (organic) or $740 (button, sprung button?) Another nice bunch of qld clutch makers, what is it with clutches and queenslanders?? Anyways, these guys reckon i'd be fine for what i explained, the power requirement and the fact the track work would be circuit work with rolling starts, etc. The guy i spoke to said he had the organic equivalent in his car (well over 300rwkw i think) for a decent amount of time and he's had no drama's. Was a XR6 turbo ute i think, can't remember. But said i really wanted something that could cop some abuse, to move up to the $740 version. Again, Direct Clutch did not need my old clutch or another GTT/GTR clutch to build from. I know what you're thinking, the prices seem a bit cheap... and i must have inferred that somehow when i was speaking to him because he mentioned that they were cheaper than other "QLD" clutch builders, and that "for example" if you put his $462 next to a JB $1k, they'd pretty much be the same thing, something about jb waving a magic wand over those clutches I went with a JB in the end because i found a guy in QLD selling his one that's travelled 80km's for a very good price (not as cheap as DC organic, but decent amount cheaper than all the other options) and it was built with a 4400lb clamping force, which is a lot more than what other people have been saying so i'm confident it can handle some punishment. Hopefully the rest of the drivetrain is up for it. If i hadn't been able to find a clutch in the classifieds here, i would double/triple check again with Direct Clutch, re: what the car would be used for and for them to confirm again that the organic could handle it, and most likely give it a bash. The way i see it, there are some damn fine clutch builders here who make stronger clutches than the "strong" Exedy/Xtreme clutches, so why pay more for a name and get something local made. Clutch install is booked for the 11th June with Status Tuning. I'll let you guys know of my thoughts once it's in EDIT: just to triple check, a R33 GTR clutch will fit fine in my car yeah? GT-T is pull type, R33 GTR is pull type, it'll fit yeah? i'm getting my standard flywheel machined as well when the clutch goes in
  18. haven't been on a cruise in a long time, good to get out and see a nice range of cars. met a bunch of new people which is always good adam - birds johnny - maroon r32 gtr ashneel kris chad and mark/daniel in the afghanilised 33 i kid, i kid -daniel, black 34-

  20. so where's this going to again? starts at monash and heading to a kebab place in mitcham?
  21. referring to the group buy ADR lines as they were crimped in the wrong way. i don't know the specifics, but i can't speak for any other lines outside of the group buys ADR ones already mentioned in this thread i'm pretty sure if you got braided lines made up by maltech, etc, they would be a different design to the group buy ADR ones from Brake West
  22. ADR approved (or compliant with the current rules) brake lines will give you ultimate FAIL on the race track. ADR brake lines are NOT designed for track work. You need CAMS approved lines for that, but you guessed it, CAMS approved lines are not ADR approved, ergo, roadworthy. They will cope with the pressure but i don't know why they are not legal. I would get CAMS approved lines and forget about police troubles. Brake West do CAMS lines after i brought this up in the group buy. If you're planning to track the car at all, you're playing with fire if you get the ADR lines.
  23. oh no he didn't...
