$400 is about right for a days work, about a Stage 2 price at Final Inspection. And i sure as hell hope you didn't get Meguiars products touching your car for that price, because i'd be severly pissed if that happened to me. Soft clear coats are a bit of a norm these days as car makers try and make their paint processes more environmentally friendly. Subaru has been notorious during recent years for their soft clear coats. Some of the new BMW's have very soft clear's as well, Nissan it seems fairs no better from factory. Just the way the cookie crumbles i guess. So no, there's nothing wrong, just a lot of soft clears running around these days straight from the factory. It can be managed, but with most cars you need a ~6month maintenance detail anyway, so with the correct washing technique you can keep it in a good enough state that when you get the maintenance detail you'll only need 1 pass of something with a light cut, like Menzerna's Final Finish. What buffing pads did he use? What polishes did he use? What product did he finish the car off in once after the pain correction? cheers, daniel

R34 Bodykit, Spoiler And Wheel
SS8_Gohan replied to MusolinoGTR's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
they're just Nismo lower skirts and rear pods, Z-tune just used the Nismo parts avaialable to all R34 GTR's -
whenever this pops up i'm always saying it's just internet rumour b.s., like so many other things floating around this car. the logitics of a complete re-lining of all cylinders is so far beyond what practically all dealerships around the world could ever dream of being able to handle, should tell people enough that there is no way at 100K km you'd be able to drive your car in for it's scheduled "major" service. that and the fact that despite all these cars being officially delivered, there has not one dealership anywhere in any market saying you'll need to come back in at 100K km's mate, we'll just need the car for a few months all complete fantasy.

you have PM

i'd doubt that mi-colour would do detailing work... Stage 2 can be done in a day, perhaps a bit quicker if D's got some other people to work on the car. There's a bunch of stuff at the Boutique to keep ya entertained... ps3 i think, plasma, dvd's, wireless net (i think)

and the 100K km tear down, afaik, has not been confirmed anywhere in any market. So this recoating business is just rumour until someone says otherwise. And now they're officially here, could someone ask a dealer specifically about the fabled 100K km tear down?

Joeyjoejoe's E85 Tuning Adventutres
SS8_Gohan replied to joeyjoejoejuniorshabadoo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
don't think this is Australia wide as United website has dropped the SA locations but Vic and NSW remain http://www.unitedpetroleum.com.au/distribu...5-locations.asp maybe it's just banned in SA? hope so.... (no offence , we can run a smuggling ring across the border ) but seems a bit strange with the new E85 commonwhore coming out, Holden was saying the fuel will be widely available... -
Dirty Headlights On My Nissan Skyline R33
SS8_Gohan replied to twinz's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
i use an RO polisher with paint polish to correct my headlights. Edge green pad with Menzerna IP 3.01 does the trick. If you have access to someone who can detail cars, just mask up around the headlight and polish it with a machine and paint polish. -
i reckon you'd do well to make a special trip to Melbourne to get it looked over by a specialist workshop. Book it in, find the time, and make sure everything is ok. Personally, i wouldn't take it anywhere but Status Tuning. Are you sure all the fluids have been replaced? not all compliance places would do this and plus you don't know what they've put in. If i were you, i'd - change ALL fluids (all synthetic) - change panel filter - change fuel filter - change oil filter - change spark plugs - get wheel alignment/balance - check brake pads/discs - polish/wax car - make sure tyre pressures are right (17" should be about 38psi) - check tyres get your oils/fluids from www.performancelub.com, mention you're from SAU the 1000k's in the previous year... has it had a service in a year? you can't just go on km intervals with servicing, you either go time or km's. I go time because i only do around 5000km's a year, so change oil every 6 months. But, i'd check those things for starters but i'd be keen to find a time to come up to Melbourne to get it all checked out at a specialist workshop... and then you can chat about mods as well cheers, daniel

why do so many cars these days look better in real life but shitehouse in pictures? and they do kinda look like LED's along the inside of the headlights....

look up the 'rev210 intake mod' if you want a cheap $5 diy solution. or these guys sell silicone intake pipes that are up to the job. http://www.racespec.com.au/ good luck and let us know how you go because i'm very interested in your final power and how that spec'd turbo goes.
-
those intake pipes do suck shut, that's for sure.... hmm... guess you won't know until it gets back on the dyno. did you have a specific power goal/figure in mind when you ordered the highflow?

Powersteering Pump Giving Everyone The Shits
SS8_Gohan replied to Wacky Dee's topic in General Maintenance
i have the exact same symptoms Delta. Thanks for the thread mate, i'll get all these others things checked first before we talk about rebuilding/new pumps. hope it's just a hose somewhere... -
i'd say 6 months would be fine if kept in a cool/dry place. You either want to change oil on km intervals or on time. For me, it's more time these days because i'd only do around 5000-6000km's a year, so i just change oil once every 6 months. I've used oil kept in a cool/dry spot that's been sitting for at least 6 months, no issues for my car.

was OP6 stamped on the hypergear you got sent and OP6 stamped on your old turbo?
-
it's a bit of a bugger for us, but think about it though. You order 6litres one time, then 4 the next, 6 the next, 4 after that. So it's the same as buying 5 each time. So really, it's no difference. That's what i do with performancelub.com - order 6 one time, then 4 the next using the 1 i have left over from last time. Works out fine and it's nice to only order 4, it "seems" like a cheaper service
-
oh so you didn't send off your old turbo??
-
i guess it is possible. Might help if you're able to find out the compressor wheel size. how do you know you got the larger of the OP6 rear housing? looks like you've got all the supporting mods there, and i too agree that the manifold idea seems a little strange. when's the next dyno run booked?
