like i said before, tentative sale... back on market. $450 delivered anywhere in oz. no point low balling because i know it's a good turbo and i have a few people around the mark. I'm not going to jack the price because of the interest, i'm just going to sell it for what i first posted it at. whoever meets the price first, has it good luck -
yes, put i for one would not want to put a portable Sat-nav in a $170K car and make it look all Excel spec sat nav is overrated anyway.

funny, for a car that is suppose to drive itself and suppose to do everything on it's own... there sure are a lot of crashed R's iF you turn VDC off, your warranty isn't VOID!! good son of rajab, it's not a hard concept to grasp. Nissan will deny a warranty claim if it thinks the damage or fault was caused/related to VDC being turned off, which it would to prove in some way shape or form going from the US experience. And considering there's really no need for LC anymore, ONE of the main issues with VDC has been negated anyway. If the electric seats f*ck up, if the stereo doesn't work, if your mirrors fail, if your brake lights are dodgy, if your computer display packs it in, etc, etc... even with VDC off, warranty will still cover all that. It's very misleading to say the whole warranty is void, because it's not. as Jeff has already pointed out, for basic servicing, you have options that won't cost anymore than any other car. It's the post track day checks which is the sticky point.

not raining on your parade, but you must have been looking at half the replies but you're right, some people have had no issues with them. It's one thing for them to work ok, it's another thing for them to be nice to tune. anyways, good luck and let us know how you go

if you're referring to this sale, it's a good question. I'm chasing up the with interested party at the moment. -
^ your intake pipe was most likely sucking close, can do that with that sort of power. look for 'rev210's intake pipe mod' or buy a silicone one. as has been mentioned, stock airbox is fine, but you might need to get a silicone intake pipe to stop the 'sucking closed' issue

you just need to get that kit on and give it to Trent or Ben

get your oils from here, and mention you're from SAU www.performancelub.com afaik, Shell don't make any TRUE synthetic oils that are available off the shelf. Without going Redline, i'd go with either Motul 300V Royal Purple German Castrol If just street driving, 5w30 would be my pick, or even an 0w depending on the State i guess. If the car is given a bit of stick regularly, or a little bit of track time, 10w40 should cover it.
-
the german sounding ones are just high flows, most likely of stock 350z injectors. high flowing can be done in oz for much cheaper, so no point getting from the states. Just high flow your factory ones.

the 100K km tear down, as far as i know, has not been confirmed in ANY market, US, europe, Japan, etc. I know it's being technical, but the whole warranty doesn't disappear with regards to track work. If your side mirror stops working and you had a track day and not had the post track check, they're not going to deny your warranty claim to get your mirror fix, etc. But i suppose the main concern are the $$ bits, engine/gearbox, etc, which would be under warranty threat post track day without an official check.

looks like you need a fuel rail and a dropping resistor?? 480's are the same price as the Nismo by the looks of it...
-
you most likely have an H1 base plate inserted where the D2R globe would sit. This would need to be removed if you wanted to run a D2R globe. I'll be running a Kaixen ballast, philipps D2r globes and these harness thingies i got off ebay. So you can effectively return to stock without actually using all stock components.

I always knew the Lada's day was coming

wait wait wait... for Vin.... they pick (i know it wasn't your choice Andrew)....... an IS250!!!!!!!!! doesn't that strike anyone else as rather... effeminate? .... i mean, seriously.... IS250?? Good son of rajab, he'll look like an asian int'l student Paul would be laughing his head-off.... congrats Matt... knew those stickers would come in handy one day i kid, i kid

a lot (i'm not sure if ALL) paste waxes can be applied by hand. Dodo waxes maybe UK based, have some rippers, some a pricey. Paul Dalton also has his own waxes, can't remember what they're called. Clay when the paint surface feels a bit rough. Put your hand in a plastic bag (one of those freezer ones) after a good wash and run it along the paint, it will help you tell if you need to clay or not. Or just clay when you want to prep it for a nice wax or sealant. Even if it feels smooth, you're best to clay if you want to lay some layers down of something I've had Zymol Royale on the 34 and it does look and feel insane, but you'd have to have a bit of an eye for it to really tell the difference. (Royale is $18K AUD, but probably way more now due to the exchange rate) OCW is the best quick spray wax, about $30 from final inspection. And i'd take P21s paste wax any day over anything from Meguiars, etc... P21s is about $40-$50 i believe.

some other guy i just noticed recently was running Bosch injectors, drop in BUT you just have to fiddle with some wires or something. Apparently very easy and you could practically class as plug and play. username is Luke ENR34 or something like that

don't know much, but i'd imagine bigger discs would give you better heat resistance as there is a greater surface area to dissipate the heat, and if there isn't much to modify and the prices are relatively similiar, could be a cheap upgrade ontop of the slotted upgrade
-
i think there is a trader on here (Kudos?) that does a kit of OEM nissan stuff, so basically he has a 100K service kit and you can buy it all in bulk. Sounds like a good idea, not sure how the pricing stacks up

Hi guys, was looking at the RDA rotors group buy and had a thought whether i could get R34 GTR sized discs and put them on my GTT, ie oversize the standard OEM diametre... Not sure of the rears but the fronts are 324 vs 310mm comparatively, but the height difference is only .05mm, which doesn't sound huge but i don't know, could be a massive difference. Would it be a stupid to run oversized rotors on standard calipers? I thought it might be a cheap upgrade because i doubt there is much difference price wise between the GTR and GTT discs. If it is possible, would it be a huge headache to modifying whatever to make the GTR sized discs to fit? cheers, daniel
-
apparently the difference is very little, this is from a friend who was looking at the RDA line-up "Hey do you know if the GTR rotors fit your Skyline? As far as i can see from the spec sheet they GTR ones are 324mm vs 310mm and th eonly other difference is the GTR ones are 53.8mm high vs 53.75mm..." so that's a .05mm difference, which doesn't sound massive. I'll start a thread in the braking section to see what people think, if it's not a huge job it might be worth getting bigger rotors if the price isn't much different. Actually, is the price much different between standard slotted front/rear for the GTT and GTR?
-
yeah, that's my point which i didn't make clearly. Just take your R's to places you trust or places other people trust, ie our family BMW's go to Southern BM. If i had a 35, i'd most likely take it to Race Pace. I'm sure there are a few workshops in every major city that can more than handle most the R35 stuff, and then maybe just have a specialist Suspension place to take the car as well. But re: grey imports... you can ONLY get pre-Series II cars? oh wait... you can't actually get them anymore can you? not even the '07 or '08's?

Equivelent Suspension To Sydneykid
SS8_Gohan replied to Rekin's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
fair point, i shall move on. For the record, i got my stuff installed at Traction Tyres. On topic, back in the day the Fulcrum spec'd Tein super streets were the equivalent to the SK stuff as i think both parties realised that jap stuff was a bit over the top for aussie conditions (in general) but if all the SK is available off the shelf now, is there a need to look for an equivalent if you can build it all yourself for a cheaper price? Any reason why you just can't copy everything? Happy for anyone to take a look at my swaybars if they want to see where they've been drilled out, etc... And what's the story with the Pedder's stuff? no one would have touched any of that stuff a few years ago... and they're doing coilovers now?
