sorry, i got things backwards a bit. They are probably a 'not ordered much' bilstein shock, whatever the model # that fits the R34, but then i think an engineering company here Oz re-valves the shocks to SK's specs. I can't be assed, but it's somewhere near the beginning of the thread. I think that's how it works. so normal shocks from germany, then revavled in oz so, no, i don't think you can get these shocks anywhere else in oz
-
So you guys have heard from Matt?? yeah, as i was saying a few posts back... if there are supply issues from Germany, unfortunately it can take a while. Basically something along the lines of they won't make SK's shocks specifically, they have to like tack on the order onto a bigger order. SK did mention something about it near the beginning of the thread. Sorry you guys had to run into the Bilstein issue

Nick, didn't know you were a hardcore rider (it's r34skyline from ns.com, one of m's victims ) been to whistler/blackcomb a couple times, my god is there a lot of terrain!! Never had a full on pow session though, disappointed. But for the fresh snow that we did have, Big White blew it away in terms of powder quality. Whistler really does suffer being right on the Pacific. If you're serious about your pow, head in-land. But if you're doing a full season at whistler, i'm sure you'll get some corker days though. Will you be instructing/liftie/ski shop/bar job?

imo, there is no point going to the trouble you're going to if you're not going to ski or board. Sleeping in the car is what my hardcore mates do for a cheap ski trip, but they are serious riders as well. I don't think it's going to be much of an enjoyable weekend away without any amenities and having to sleep in a car with 4 other people. 4wd or not, that's not going to be comfortable. Lift/lesson/rental packages are not that expensive. Call Mt Buller accomodation hotline (all major mountains will have a booking service) and i'm sure they'll hook you up. And if you're all beginners, don't feel there is a need to rush up to the snow, there will be enough to stick around in the areas you'll be skiing. Showers? i know hotham has public shower access, don't know about other mountains. call Buller direct, you'll find accom. Have a ski, you'd be silly not to after going all that way, there is only so much "snow play" you can do. If you want, just do half day lift tickets if you really want to muck around in the snow.

is it full synthetic or a group III oil? ie, not quite full synthetic, but still marketed as one

^ don't listen to him, he's moved to retirement ville, obviously the heat, cardigans, high wearings pants have gotten to him i'm with dan completely on this, i didn't read much of anything into dan's first post and.... BAM! original poster fly's off the proverbial handle. sorry for asking the power figure in the first place i guess i started this 120rwkw is bout what... 170kw at the fly? that's not too bad for a 1400kg car. In vic, that almost puts it over the power/weight ratio.

west, whoop whoop, seems the same to me just remember the impression it was far andrew, you don't really do mobile type stuff do you?? (i'm bayside way) problem? i "think" there is a bigger than normal current draw somewhere, that and i need someone to chop off the old positive battery terminal clamp and attach a new bigger one to fit the Optima's terminals. Managed to get the negative one done, but don't know what to do with the positive, and it really was a stop gap measure, would like to get it done properly. At the moment, the positive terminal clamp has just been stretched waaay open to fit around the terminal, prob quite dodge, but contact seems good. also want to check current draw when alarm is on... that drains the battery at a silly rate. That might be a special trip to Ash's alarm guy (ben?) who's helped before but i thought i might at least be able to diagnose and perhaps get everything done in one hit with an auto elec.
-
As per title, after a good auto elec... a search revealed... -------------------------------------------------------------- The guys name is Wayne He owns / Runs an Auto Elect business in Clayton. Shammy's Auto Electrics 9 James Street, Clayton Ph 9562 8213 --------------------------------------------------------------- ^That post was from 2006 and Ash has mentioned acsplit as another contact. I have a feeling acsplit is west side though, and i'm bayside, so prob not going to work. I've gone to Ash's alarm guy before, great guy, but it's a hike to get out there and would prefer local or someone who is mobile cheers, daniel

Author blythe senior should do his homework... if it hasn't been released outside of japan, what the hell are the yanks/middle east customers driving then?

man, you think you'd get someone to proof read the listing! You're trying to sell an item for $145K and you word it like you're selling a 99 cent led bulb from hong kong.

every where were saying they were selling them and taking deposits, most knowing full well they wouldn't be getting them. what's the setup like at Bundoora??

what power does the 34 usually make?

R33 To R34 Exhaust Question
SS8_Gohan replied to A31cefiro's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
i have a R33 HKS Super dragger on my 34, 34 is a little shorter with slightly diff mount points. I had an exhaust place modify it for me. They just cut out a section and welded up a new bit to make it fit. Not too hard, any decent exhaust place should be able to do it -
my car courtesy of DT Panels and Final Inspection DT Panels = good work, and very cheap prices comparably. If you want better work, be prepared to part with perhaps $6-$7k

unless you know how the Bilstein shocks have been revalved, then no, you can't get the same suspension... ANYWHERE - sway bars are made to order from whiteline as well (adjustable ones) if you guys have been unlucky enough to run across supply problems with the Bilstein shocks, it can take a while to get them from Ze Fatherland hope SK, Son of SK or the other guy (Matt?) gets to you all soon. I've been running the SK kit for a while, track days, Great Ocean Road... it's a VERY tasty piece of kit i must say and i hope to finish everything off soon (sub-frame align kit, castor kits, etc) hang in there guys, i know it can be frustrating, buy you WILL get your parts.

ended up getting an Optima Yellow Top, rang a few specialist places and they weren't too fussed about Pulse batteries. but the terminals are too big!!!! i gotta go buy some bigger clamps now.... at least i think that's what i need to do
-
sorry, thought this meant that a RAW can plate up straight away... ok, so it's something different
-
ash, i prob need your mate to look at the alarm install because it's prob draining any battery quicker than it should. my car does fit into the quite a few short trips, lives in garage, type scenario so we'll go with at least a dry cell, and maybe just leave it at that. A good, basic dry cell and i think that should do me. are the pulse ones dry cell?? cos i got 20% off coupon for autobarn do RACV do dry cell batteries?
-
oh forgot to mention my alarm is fairly heavy on the battery... i know a lot of batteries will work fine, just need to know if there are benefits for the car/ignition systems/car's ecu etc, if you run a better/certain type of battery. And if track work requires better batteries? but it seems like RACV might be the go
-
660cca is a lot... but then again, i heard you just can't go off the CCA rating?? i don't mind paying for good quality, long lasting battery. But having said that, i don't think i need anything too insane either, car has no ice it's just whether i need a beefier battery for track work? That would be the only reason (if it's even a reason) to go a chunky battery cheers for the reply nis, i was learning in the RACV direction... i'm a member, so i don't know if i get a discount? EDIT: 15% discount for RACV batteries for members

Hi guys, long story short, my car is at FI at the moment, but i think the battery died (been there a few weeks). Tried trickle charge/charge but it's not happy, it's been playing up a bit recently and i think it's officially dead. I'm picking the car up tomorrow, so i'll have to buy a new battery on the way. Where am i going? Are there specialist places (i only know of battery world in Mentone). I've got a 20% coupon for autobarn, but not sure if they'll have anything decent?? Figured i'd just go Optima or Odyssey, don't know anything about batteries. Won't be too hard to find a battery to fit a R34 will it?? Options are.. -Marshalls to come to the car? (possible OH&S issues with non-employee people being inside work area) -RACV to come to the car? (possible OH&S issues with non-employee people being inside work area) -Autobarn? -Battery World? If i buy before i pick up my car, i gotta have something that i can plonk in place of the old battery and be done with it, something that won't need major modification. In terms of what i need, i don't need to run any "ice" but the car sees the track, so i don't know if for whatever reason track work creates any extra strain on battery/ignition systems? any help appreciated cheers, daniel
