the whole "deposit" thing was such a f*cking rort anyway

^ not so good news for the fringe dwellers though because doesn't a Nissan OZ GTR on the road by March mean not even low volume imports can be done by a RAW?
-
you might have got extra parts perhaps?? i got some extra parts when i ordered my kit, but admittedly they were extra camber kit stuff... i can't seem to see the ring in this pic (my car) is it perhaps to adjust where the circlip grooves sit????

A Little Help From R34 Owners
SS8_Gohan replied to SS8_Gohan's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
what year is your stagea?? i'd also doubt they are projectors.... OEM Xenon projectors look like this... i appreciate the post but every reflector assembly has a different light patern, so i was kinda chasing someone with OEM R34 shots. Having said that though, we might have diagnose something with your car that needs to be checked... The more i look at the front pic of yours, the more i think they're not Xenon. You should be above the cut-off line there with the angle you took the front shot, but you can still see a fair amount of glaring. This is a hallmark of an aftermarket HID kit in a reflector assembly not designed for it. A Xenon bulb (D2s, D2r, etc) has a certain light "signature" and the reflectors are designed to suit. You put in an H1 or whatever globe, the "pattern" of light doesn't match up and you get flaring everywhere, hot spots, etc. The front shot does make the light look too yellow to be Xenon, could just be the pics -

^ stagea? are you sure they put back EVERYTHING? that light output looks halogen, and if xenon, looks like a kit output, not OEM stuff... -
1) technically it's not "Brighton" it's on the wrong side of the tracks, ie... wrong side of Nepean hwy, it MIGHT be east brighton, but i think really it's another suburb altogether 2) Have you been there???? I get my fuel/oil filters from there and the parts/service desk has Nissan on the left and.... wait for it....... HYUNDAI on the right. Same desk, about 3-4 metres wide, 1 side Datsun, 1 side Hyundai. I don't think $150K+ GTR owners are going to line up and try and talk over the discussion a metre to their right about when Thelma should bring her excel in for the next service. Nobody gives a shit there, showroom is shithouse, and the "service" desk it laughable, the workshop looks pretty agricultural as well. There is not a snowballs chance in hell you could sell/service a GTR there.

need R34 guinea cops?

that's what i thought originally... hmmm.... will have to double check clearance of front bumper again... i did fiddle with the reo bar the other day, was drooping a little, may have picked up a 1cm i'm going to have to watch that then...

Want To Sell R34 V-spec2 Nur And Get New Gtr35!
SS8_Gohan replied to mines's topic in General Automotive Discussion
be prepared to wait, it seems 2010 is the kick off for the GTR in OZ Keep the Nur for a bit, because lets face it, it's an awesome piece of kit in it's own right. Wait for the fringe dwellers (RAWS workshops) to get into the swing of bringing these things in, and pick one up after the initial rush has died down. Oh and don't hold your breath for the importers either, they have a bit of song and dance to perform before they're road registering the new R's, but it will be a lot quicker than Nissan Oz, that's for sure -
hey Blitz does the horses mouth have a name and position title within Nissan? so this means that the gamble has paid off those fringe dwellers? because 2010 puts it WAAAAY outside the 18month window yes?
-
Blitz has ze connections, sounds like good info to me... that pretty much means it's go time for imports yah?? hahahahhah, Nissan OZ.... you bunch of retarded f*ck wits.... i reckon that explains the recent Nissan OZ letter saying "we'll be scrutinising all workshops importing GTR's", 1) scare tactics as they have no auth to scrutinise jack 2) they know they're going to miss the 18 month window and hence they're being poopy pants and saying "well yeah!.......... we've got our eye on you... so.... yeah, yeah... think about it!" hahahaha, ANOTHER wasted opportunity...
-
hahaha, this is what Traction Tyres told me, and i thought if anyone is to know, they would (they run a tool under the whole car to check clearances) And i asked about the front bumper, and they're like, don't worry, it's just the body of the car. i'm more than welcome to be proven wrong though, cos i'd like to know if my car is infact illegal... i've been pulled over a few times recently, all officers checking the front of the car, nothing said yet
-
don't spray them, won't last. No where near hardy enough to cope the abuse wheels do.. powder coat, that's what i did. Place i got them done was $70 a rim (including wheel caps)
-
i've prob got 7-8cm clearance up front you get use to it... This is not a legal issue in Vic... it's the BODY of the car (including exhaust) which can't be lower than 100mm... side skirts/body kit can be lower... i also have a plastic front bumper, not FG, this gives you a lot more flex, and i surely would have snapped it quite a few times otherwise... it's more expensive but it's save me what... 2 resprays at say $800 all up? something to think about if you drive a lot of the same roads, and go to the same car parks, etc... that it's easy to manage because you know what clearances you have and don't have. I dread new car parks. I tried getting into the Melb Central car park from lonsdale st (under the walkway) in heavy traffic... and i couldn't f*cking get up the ramp! So if you drive pretty much the same places, a low front bumper can be managed...
-
^ anyway... FG was definitely a given... but Werribee.. is well ..... strange.... i've never been to that stealership, anyone else know what it's like?
-
couldn't agree more. You're living in fantasy land if you think a stealership is going to provide better service/do a better job than a well sorted auto workshop. dad's 335i coupe oil change (first one at 25,00km mind you!! ) was $440, and it was ONLY a filter and new oil, and this is after I had to top up the bloody thing with oil because it chewed through about 2 litres before the so called first service interval of 25,000km! BMW have specified bout a 12 min window to do an oil change, half the time the car won't even make the hoist. That's why from here on in it's going to Southern BM for servicing. Just a specialist BMW workshop. be interesting to hear the reports out of the US, how they go with their stealerships

picture?
-
hehe, you are your contacts the 33 coming along ok?
-
doski, was your front bar meant for a GTR and it was modified? Or has someone gone and made a TS front bar that fits a GTT? You can see the nose piece is different to Forged's
-
still interested to hear Mario's thoughts on some of the questions i asked....
-
^ this i did not know, cheers for the info Ash/Ruffels i have a HKS Super Dragger catback (modified from an R33) that is as quiet as anything.... at track days and what not, where the cars are idling, get numerous people asking if my car is even on. The rest of the system is full 3" stainless, split dump/front pipe, 3" hi flow cat. So it is possible to have a 3" system, with a jap aftermarket catback that is legal. I don't know what db my exhaust is, but not one cop has even bothered to check it when i've been pulled over. But it's f*cking huge exhaust though, 5" tip i think and the main part obviously bigger again, might have something to do with it, i dunno. Shelter for the homeless exhaust i call it

^ i believe adam might have been referring to my 2 posts, i could be wrong...

i did SK's kit in stages. bars first, big difference, noticeably flatter cornering springs/shocks second, bigger difference again, car felt more planted, more stable, and cornering was even better again. Camber kits installed and setup to SK specs. bilstein/whiteline ride is fairly firm, but felt great at Sandown... all the damper adjustable stuff can be a bit of a wank really. Just get adjustable sway bars, that's what matters more. what coilovers you looking at?
