  1. 18th? You are confusing me oz. Also, got your sms and organised it. I'm there.
  2. woot. Happy birthday you young whipper snapper.
  3. Moved to Mexico because that's where it is. As keen as I am, I'm not going to drive 10 hours to Melbourne to get on a dyno.
  4. It's not really a national event is it? Moved to NSW events.
  5. I tried an afm with no mesh. no problems.
  6. What exhaust and intake mods have you done?
  7. I think 2500's work from 0 degrees but 3000's need some heat.
  8. Some one on here was selling a complete running RB30DET with an RB20 head so I guess it's possible.
  9. Great post Geoff. I guess my caliper seals are slowly going then. I suppose I will have to go for braided lines at some stage too. What do these cost? Where do you get them?
  10. I love how they put in a low tax additive and charge us more for it. Where did you get it Sam? I still haven't tried Extreme yet cos I haven't seen it at a servo I have been at. Also, what a bunch of pansy arse, wanky featured, boyracer, bullshit names they have. It's enough to put you off buying it incase someone actually sees me filling up with it and starts laughing at me.
  11. Forget the whole hot air thing. 12-12.5 psi on the street I think is safe. The fact is that if you run 14psi all the time you will have to be very lucky for the turbo to live long. Just because your grandma smoked a pack a day and lived to 90 doesn't mean that millions didn't die of lung cancer. No one gives a f**k about the odd one that survives. We just say congratulations, you are rare. Power is good. I think the curve is rough because they are both single runs. Dyno operators often print an average run which smooths it out. Also, when you have under 200rwkw you have a higher reolution on the page compared to someone with another 50-100-200 more. It seems looking at the power flattening and even dipping late in the rev range on the high boost setting that you have a restriction in either the intake or exhaust or both. This is confirmed by the boost dropping off. Are you still running the stock cat? I guess it could also be a crap boost controller. The stock actuator should have no problems holding that amount of boost.
  12. Ahh but I wont be standing still waiting for you. I've got a new mod going in this Saturday. Look out John. My mechanical diff will shave 10 seconds off my lap time at least!
  13. I haven't. I assume, but haven't checked, that all R34's have ABS.
  14. I think that's how I shaved a second off my time when I was chasing Oz.
  15. I think some cars have power assistance as well as the hydraulics that we all have. Maybe that's where the really bitey life is. Mine still aren't bitey, just firmer.
  16. Thanks DIF and thanks for flagging.
  17. I'm thinking about getting one but not sure yet.
  18. I think they will fit. I'll take them if you don't want them.
  19. I don't think going over the engine will hurt your intake temps. The air isn't there for long enough to transfer the heat. Feel free to hack your front bar though. 32 knock is still bugger all. 12 is nothing. Push it and see.
  20. Well mine hasn't changed. It read the same on day one as it does now.
  21. They haven't been getting the results they should have and I think this is all about practice. It can work well but the first people getting it - and there are a few already are not getting the value. Are you auto or manual?
  22. Who from here actually emptied their extinguishers on the RX7? I know Ando did. Who else?
  23. I was playing around with the timing on my car at Eastern Creek on sunday and I can tell you that 5 degrees of extra timing is a shipload of extra power so I think it is certainly worthwhile dropping the boost a little and seeing how much more timing you can stuff in there. Not only that but if you add a bunch of timing to your lower revs you should be able to get your turbo spooling a little earlier too. Interesting article Cubes.
  24. That seems a little over zealous but I suspect that if you take a common sense approach of, no doubt it is secured completely firmly then they wouldn't have a problem with it. They don't like things that move around. My dodgy sensibilitties say that I'm wearing a helmet so there's only so much damage a video camera can do to me in a crash. They hate my amp in the boot cos it moves slightly on it's mount. It doesn't move more than a couple of mm and it's in the boot so can't get me anyway but that's their general philosophy so that's what we aim to deal with. The strange thing is that of all the track days I've been to (about 20) it's only at the two RENEW days that anyone cared. I've asked around and people say that each scruitineer is slightly different and has his or her particular foibles. Next track day I will inform you all again in advance that this is where it's at. All that said, they are there to make us safe, not make our lives a misery.
  25. Thanks Toulia. I'll be in the 1:20's next time snowy so you might as well stay home.
