  1. That's right. You get around man. And no, it's hot full stop.
  2. I know I already kind of posted this but this pic was just before the above one. 5 white Skylines!
  3. More pics http://www.stifflerimaging.com/renewecreek/index.htm http://s111.photobucket.com/albums/n125/Fi...iasts%20081006/
  4. Thanks man. Muchly appreciated.
  5. Another vote for the really long extention bar for those top two bolts. I actually used Duncans wobly ended extension bars to take it out then my long extension to put it back in. If you have the right angle your ratchet is about where the cat goes in a straight line. The other thing that is handy is to get your chinese/australian mate to put the socket on the bolt for you with his little hands. (Thanks Ed) Takes me about 500 hours to do anything. The only thing I can really add to this thread is why are you undoing your tailshaft? And are you marking it when you do to make sure you put it back together the way it was before? I just undid the 2 bolts holding the middle section of the tailshaft to the body then bent the 3 uni joints until the yoke part came out of the box. Easy.
  6. Have you tried TM Autosport?
  7. No worries. I'm just a cog in a machine. Makes me happy to see so many people loving the track.
  8. You can file two flats opposing sides onto it and get an open ended spanner onto it.
  9. Update. I installed some Ferrodo DS2500 pads all round and the pedal feels much firmer now. I would say I have to push harder on the pedal than I used to but I think that is master cylinder related.
  10. I use 2 degrees negative camber on the front and drive fairly hard but I think the highway km's I do have contributed to some inner tyre wear. That said it's not outrageous. The tyres need replacing anyway.
  11. I have an R34 and with Ultimates I have belted around the track lap after lap and never got any fade. They are dusty as hell though, prone to squealing and eat rotors for dinner. They wear out fairly quickly but for a performance oriented pad they are cheap. They do stop well though. I just put some Ferodo DS2500's in last week and went to a track day on sunday. I'm told they last twice as long as Ultimates but yet to find that out. They give a firmer pedal. They stop well but have to push harder. They didn't fade. No noticeable dust after one track day. Only squealed when really hot. Apparently my rotors were glowing red yesterday after 220 down to 170km/h stab and then 190 down to 70km/h stop straight after.
  12. They are a bit hard to find. Competition Frictions in Canberra sell them. Apart from UAS that's all I know.
  13. Hmm interesting. I never thought about that. I think I reused a diff t piece and mine reads 1-2 psi too low.
  14. Actually don't do that because the kit only comes with the 0.68 rear housing and the 0.87 is much better.
  15. Ahh Reedy has a diff. Mine is sitting around waiting to go in. I've got a Nismo 1 way. I had major headaches getting the power down but I think swaybars would help. Steve and Shaun told me I was lifting my inside rear on turn two for long enough that it stopped spinning. No brakes were applied!! Wow Jason did really well then. I just thought since it arrived on a trailer it must have some serious mumbo. I think you got a 1:44 John. Also I found the temperature differences during the day interesting. It really does have a major effect on both tyres (grip levels) and knock levels.
  16. Haha. You were in Neutral Bay. I saw you there and thought, 'what is this hot beast?' then noticed it was a ceffie when the lights changed.
  17. Yeah, interesting. I really need to get some in car footage the next time I am tailing you around a track. It's a surreal look as you are slipping around the place pushing a bit hard then regaining control within a single second because we are both doing between 100 and 200+ km/h and often within a 1-2 car lengths of each other as it's happening.
  18. The RX7 had a split fuel line. The reason the guys couldn't put the fire out probably is because the lines were on fire from front to back of the car. I've been over to the RENEW website and they have been effusive with their thanks for the flaggies efforts. We all really appreciate you guys. Here is the combined times. I slipped down to 13th in the end from 10th earlier. Reedy snuck into the 1:53's, OZ close to 1:51 flat, the love boat stormed around in 1:44, Majanal did a 1:54 before his intercooler hose blew apart, he and Chris Easton showed what the RB30DET's are capable of. Both had low peak power and crappy tyres but put in some really good times. Good to see Ando in the sub 2 minute club too. Check my new sig Here is the rest of the times.
  19. Hey Toulia, I didn't get to catch up with you today. Didn't even see you. I'm sure he would like to see some pics. If he got hurt it would be a different story.
  20. haha, 10 years old is like ancient dude. I also have never heard of honda being unreliable. I had a 99 SSS pulsar. Goes hard, looks ok. It's a Nissan.
  21. controversial yes. but I agree also with the above. I ran mine similar to that for 1000kms then gradually upped the revs. You will find it feels tight the first few thousand kms. As it frees up you rev it harder until it doesn't feel restricted at high rpm then it's done.
  22. Wow. What a day. What can I say. Many condolences to the Rx7 owner. Day was slow to start but over all great fun. As is usual with these things, if your car is still running after lunch you will have plenty of track time. Good to see most of the liners running still. (No giving the thumbs up until the cool lap mmkay?!) Big thanks to RENEW, I see Nathan readin here. Big thanks to the flaggies for helping out today. We really appreciate it. I tried to invite you all back for drinks at my place but some people had left before I found you. We owe you one. I had a great day. Nice tussles with Oz late in the piece. Any more pics anyone?
  23. Crazy. See you guys out there.
