  1. That one sounds like you need to bleed the brakes.
  2. I wrote mine while Bass was posting his so I missed it. Damn you Bass for making me think.
  3. 1. No 2. Yes, 10-20rwkw 3. yes 4. no 5. on the highway it was for me. 6. You will lose zip but that's not relevant to the power curve. It will be the same. 7. later 8. same 8. Debateable. Dan is right about insurance. Might as well get it and put the boost up but don't get it and not boost.
  4. There are a number of manual gear boxes out there that use ATF in them. My dad's 4wd uses engine oil!!
  5. Ok we are talking in 3 different threads now about soft brake pedals. What makes them soft? What can be done? We are not talking about brakes that don't work. It's just that doughy feel you get at the start of the brake pedal travel. I actually thought mine were completely stuffed when I upgraded my master cylinder but it seems that lots of Skylines have mushy pedals at the start of travel then get hard further down. How about you? How does your pedal feel? How far does it go before you get the hard part if you have the mushy part as well? What rotors/pads/master cylinder? How recently was the system bled? I want to get an idea of what is normal.
  6. Haha, this same thing is in 3 threads now.
  7. Has it ever been hard? We are discussing a similar thing in this thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...p;#entry2548068 And I'm wondering if most skylines are like this but I don't know how to change it yet.
  8. Talk. how much power are you going for?
  9. Got Ultimates in there now but got some Ferodo DS2500 going in this week.
  10. Further to previous discusssions in this thread about master cylinder size: I just put what I think is a standard R34 GTR master cylinder on my car just cos it was there. Everything else stayed the same. I actually thought I had stuffed the whole operation up because first press of the brakes yeilded next to nothing. The end result is that I press the pedal and it goes further than before with only the lightest of braking happening then it gets to a point where you push hard and it really stops. So I think you could say that the pedal travels further and that it's harder once you get the meaty part of the braking. Before my brake pedal always had a bit of travel before it started braking properly. Are all Skylines like that? You know how you drive a newish falcon for eg, and the pedal barely moves before you are braking hard. They are really twitchy. Mine is the opposite. How would get that if you wanted it? Should I start a new thread about this?
  11. I had a real good look today and can find no nipple, however, my brakes now seem to be fine. I think they are just different to before and it freaked me out.
  12. I heard you can wreck the seals in the master by pushing it too far when it's dry. I've got a spare master here you can borrow for a short while if you pay postage.
  13. That's a weird wang. I wouldn't want to catch an R34 cab unless I was in the front seat. Not much room in back.
  14. No experience necessary. Come one, come all.
  15. :salute:
  16. Hmm, I don't think I have that. I have two little ball bearings instead.
  17. Hmm, Duncan just told me to remember to bleed the ABS. I forgot. My brakes are mushy now. I replaced my booster and master cylinder. Then filled and bled the brakes at the calipers. Then test drove and they are mushy and don't stop that well. So yeah, I would like to know how you do it.
  18. They're called skids now n00b...
  19. Spotted Kennedy in West Ryde. I gave a big out the window wave. Got ignored.
  20. My tip is after you pull out the cage holding th stereo be very very careful what you are doing with the back of while all the cables are connected. Heaps of people have scratched the crap out of the plastic surrounds on both sides of the stereo area.
  21. Spotted ECL twice yesterday. Also spotted Malecki and Satanic in North Sydney.
  22. I think you can fit the fronts too. Oz did it to his GTST.
  23. This thread should be made a sticky.
  24. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...mp;hl=valvebody There ya go.
  25. You get a valvebody upgrade from MV Automatics in Adelaide. I had it done. Absolutely awesome. They do exchange so you buy it and put it in then send yours back for a partial refund. There's an old group buy thread about it with heaps of info.
