  2. Well with the old ECU, auto and stock AFM I was making around 255rwkw. Then I did a manual conversion and put a pfc and Z32 AFM in. Tuned on a dyno that seems quite happy it made 300rwkw. This was at 11.8 A/F ratios I'm told. Tried to run it on a dyno I knew and it ran 225rwkw, pinging and rich as feck. Didn't get too close to redline cos of the pinging. Cubes - is that standard turbo but RB30? Fuel is new and fine. 3 types tried. I don't think there are any air leaks but I will check tonight. The pinging doesn't seem to happen with heavy boost low to mid rpm, more like any boost high rpm, like over 5000. My theory at this stage is, AFM tells PFC there is much more air than there really is, PFC puts lots of timing and lots of fuel in. The only other thing I can think of is that the lambda sensor used to tune it was out and something is wrong with the tune although that wouldn't account for the pinging since it wasn't pinging at all when it was being tuned and on my test drive (and I gave it a good quality test drive).

  8. The L stands for Laser, can't remember the rest. I'm still not convinced it's for real.
  9. Just trying to confirm something. I got my car tuned with a z32 AFM that up until that day had been sitting in my garage for about 18 months and I've just found out had been unused but presumed to work for quite some time before then. Anyway, the tune was good, it ran well but over a few days it seemed to deteriorate and I put it on a dyno where the air/fuel ratios went under 10 and it pinged. I have since been steadily dropping the boost to now 7psi to stop it pinging. The z32 AFM I believe maxes out at 4.5 volts. I have seen it at 4.4 volts at 5000rpm with as little 10psi so it has been suggested that the AFM is dying or at least has something wrong with it. My question is: If we are right about the AFM showing far too much voltage for the actual air flow, it makes sense that it would be overfueling but can overfueling cause it to ping? Or is something else up?
  10. This thread will have particular problems with posts like this. R33 GTR's and all R34's have pull type clutches but R33 GTST and most R32's have the push type. Also Randy, you say R34GTT intercooler and wheels work and fits fine. Fits what? Sorry mate, not trying to pick on you. The only way this thread will work is if it goes forever and the first post gets continuously updated as new things get posted. Are you prepared to be custodian of this thread for a couple of years west? Are you prepared to do some work trawling the forums for things you can put in here so that people don't have to repost stuff in here that already exists elsewhere? If you put some effort into it it could be really good. If not it will die.
  11. Wow. Interesting. I wonder what car it was in originally cos I've never heard of a 5 speed auto R33 but the box is obviously around that age. How much power are you punching out of the VL?

  13. It wasn't me that got the beating. The guy was clocked at 242 in a 80 zone but after a chase the cop told him that and he said something like 'I thought I was going much faster than that' which is when he got beaten up. I think the Seargant back at the station let him go so there wouldn't be any issues about the beating.

  15. Umm yeah I think it is Ralph sorry. Refunds or holding of deposits for the next track day will only happen if the day gets cancelled or if it goes ahead and someone takes your spot. If you paid and can't go and we can't find someone to take your spot and the day goes on we can't refund the money sorry.

  17. I know a guy who says he does 1:10 around Wakefield in his Zed. Reckons the suspension was easy to tweak to make it handle properly. He also hinted that he had spent around $15k on it. So easy must = expensive too.

  20. Thank you Stan, James, Paul, Liz. Last day to pay is just before all the spots sell out and you will know that you've missed it if it gets cancelled due to lack of interest. To be honest there is a slight chance of it being called off due to lack of interest but I'm sure there are a few people out there who intend to come but haven't paid up yet. If that's you, get some money in now to secure the day. I'm not saying it's definitely going to happen but just that it's a current talking point.

  22. It up to cops discretion but there are a few charges you can get for going massively over the limit, two of which were mentioned above. A guy I know just got a beating instead. That was in Vic though.

  24. You have to take the pan off to clean or replace the filter but not to drain and refill the trans a few times. Also I'd love to see some pics of the 5 speed R33 auto
