  1. I want to know. Just for general discussion. I think the LS1 boys think cams don't stop it from being 'unopened'.
  2. What kind of power did you get? What transmission? Might as well add what you got once you had a PFC or other engine management in place too if you have it. Thanks. I got 162 with zorst and 12psi. Auto.
  3. Thanks man, legend. AM I reading that right? R32 RB25DE uses the same spec rods?! Wow.
  4. Hi guys. Never needed this thread until now but just want to check something. If someone could help out it would be much appreciated. Can this software give part numbers for engine parts? Am I in the right place or is there some other software for this sort of thing? I have been told that R34 GTR RB26DETT rods have the same part number as R34 GTT RB25DET. Could someone please confirm this for me or send me to the right place? Thanks a lot. Adam.
  5. I guess not.
  6. Sure DAVE!!!! You're always starting fights. I know I'm in the wrong thread here but I'll probably go to the joint cruise.
  7. That's funny. I was just about to write a similar thread. I spotted Mik's GTR in HPI yesterday. Looking very clean and nice. Of course everyone knows he stole the 'keep it looking stock' idea from me.
  8. Sorry mate didn't mean to be offensive. I just meant that 108mph sounded about 8-10mph too fast for the ET and power. I might add that I'm hopeless at the quarter mile. Always have been.
  9. Which model cars are we talking about? R32 GTR and GTST plus R33 GTST takes push type clutch. R33 gtr, r34 gtt, r34 gtr takes pull type clutch.
  10. Skyline engines like to rev. It should pull 40k's in 3rd but still that's in a very low power area of the rev range.
  11. bahahahahahahaahahaha As for the other guy, umm more info please. Speed related sound? Engine speed or road speed? Whe is it coming from? What do you mean locked diff? Mechanical? Welded? How do you know?
  12. Dunno but ask Slide if he's got one for you.
  13. No fair, can you get me some for that price? Also, regarding the the gasket. They are not the same as the R33 ones however you can reuse them if you are careful on removal. They can get stuck on the top part in one area and the bottom part in another area then break with you lift the top part off. That said, they don't stick like with gasket goo so are easy to separate as long as you are careful.
  14. With type b poncams you might just get there. Either that or a 2835ProS with the 0.83 rear housing which with cams will definitely get you there.
  15. I don't think you ran 108mph mate. I have run 12.7 @ 106 with 255rwkw. I suspect that for some time now I have been getting more power on the dyno than on the road because I think a restriction is created once I lower my bonnet. Auto has been fully rebuilt by Mike at MV Automatics in Adelaide. Uprated valvebody, kevlar bits and bigger servo's etc etc. Stall caonvertor is something like 1800 but the flash speed is the same as the stall speed. Normally the flash speed is lower. Stock auto, panel filter, full zorst, 12psi Same mods plus Powerplay ROM tune: New tune, 480cc injectors, GCG highflow turbo, FMIC, blew the auto transmission at this point: The engine was then rebuilt with Tomei type b Poncams and the below 255/256 dyno sheets are for this stage. Timeslip UAS dyno run 256rwkw Bel Garage dyno run 255rwkw (same mods as UAS one) Then I converted to manual for a bit of fun.
  16. So what is supposed to happen with all the area whore threads that are currently in existance? Are we closing them and telling them there is one whore thread only?
  17. Yeah 480 Nismo's. They are in the 90%+ range now.
  18. For all those that have pm'd me and msn'd me this morning it cost $1500 for Greg to do the conversion. I supplied the parts. I wrecked a GTT to get the parts. If I hadn't done that I would suggest that people use an R33 gearbox because they use push type clutches rather than the pull type that the R34 box has. Push type clutches are always cheaper than the equivalent pull type clutch. For general reference, R32's and R33GTST have push type and R33GTR and R34's have pull type. I used an R33 GTR clutch and got it rebuilt by Jim Berry - check the drivetrain thread for his details. The car ran fine on the stock ecu but it now has a PowerFC in it.
  19. Ok so I was going to go for a bigger bike just for the torque but it seems perhaps a 250 will suffice since I'm not getting into bikes for speed. Thanks everyone.
  20. The secret is out! I collected the parts, Greg from Autosport Engineering did my manual conversion. Great guy, nothing is a problem. In and out in 3 days. Not expensive either. I've got a Jim Berry rebuilt R33 GTR clutch in there. PowerFC was today tuned by Mark at Hills Motorsport. The lower line on the graph is before the ECU change. The upper is the after obviously. He spent a lot of time on it and you can tell. It's much smoother than the other ECU and no big clouds of black smoke out the back any more. I forgot to get a graph of the AFR's but they were off the scale before. I'm still running low boost as I have run out of injector head room. I will get it onto a Dyno Dynamics dyno (hopefully one I've been on before) at some stage to give people a more easily tranferable idea of the power. Of course I'll also head out to the strip at some stage. Does anyone have any comments on the power curve?
  21. Ok those people who are already in the know have to keep quiet for a minute... Here's a couple of pics. Interior: And a dyno readout from today:
  22. Cometic are pretty good. What compression ratio do you want? What turbo are you using/do you intend to use?
  23. It's the pipe that is restrictive.
