  1. I think your plugs should be gapped to 0.8 and Iridiums are the new platinums and you can buy them already gapped to 0.8. As others have said you can gap your current plugs down. As for fouling your plugs straight away... hmm I don't think so. Yes your car will be running richer but it is not going to foul the plugs unless something else is actually wrong with the car. Don't go buying copper plugs for that reason. All that said, I don't think this is your problem. Assuming you are right when you tell us there is no stuttering or misfiring type behaviour, this is R&R and there is not much you can do about it except get a piggyback ecu like a SAFC or an aftermarket one like PFC.
  2. It's not so much a head gasket choice but a compression ratio choice. I spent weeks on this issue with my rebuild. I would use about 8.5:1 CR if I were you. I know that you can get better response and power with a higher CR but it's easier and safer this way. Don't let anyone tell you to drop it much further or you will hate your car on the street. I would also suggest you use a stock thickness head gasket like a cometic or whatever and get your head machined to create the CR you desire. Your engine builder/head reconditioner can do this for you. Pfft to using same brand pistons, rods and rings. Arias are good. I used Wiseco. There are a few good brands that don't cost too much. GTR rods should be fine at that level I think. I would use a 2835 ProS with the 0.82 exhaust housing. Get a crank collar put on for the oil pump drive, cheap insurance. www.proengines.com.au can help you there, they can sell you one or fit it as well since you can't fit it yourself at home.
  3. This might be helpful. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...topic=69380&hl=
  4. But you don't recomment this for the street do you? I changed my oil recently and as I had a track day coming in a few weeks I overfilled. Car goes fine, a bit more oil in the catch can (or spewing out of it in my case since it is a crap can) but the one thing I noticed is that when I start it up in the morning (or stone cold anyway) it burns oil for about 3-5 minutes. I can see it coming out the exhaust and my garage fills with fumes. It didn't do this before. Can you explain it and is it ok?
  5. It's not but this one still has time to run I think.
  6. There are two kinds of third party insurance. Third party personal which is compulsory to get your car registered (often called CTP or green slip) and third party property which covers you for the damage you may cause to other people's property, eg their car. The cost of rego is separate to either of these and is paid to the RTA whereas the CTP is paid to an insurance company.
  7. ahahahahaha. Nice one Toulia.
  8. A bit harsh... What court? What was the judges name?
  9. I like the fact the title of your thread is actually the name of the place that does it but you didn't realise. Those guys are not cheap but they are good and there is not much competition at their level of quality.
  10. I wonder if it's real. Do you have any pics of the rear? The LM has no rear wiper or a hole in the windscreen for one. If it is... Nice one!!!
  11. Does it look a bit like this Is it this exact car? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...87&hl=powerplay
  12. I like the engine bay. A little different. Reminds me a little of an RB25 I know...
  13. I guess everyone was right about me going faster in the arvo. 1:24.379 WOOT!!!!!! And thank you. I was planning on making a post on forum thread but I can't get in anymore.
  14. Not even close although my gf has been known to make sacrifical offerings to the tyre gods on some occasions.
  15. Look, it's not the worst turbo in the world and they didn't have surge issues with all of them, just a fair few. It might be ok but it might be the reason the current owner is selling it. I get full boost of 0.9 bar at 3200rpm but I do notice that it spools very early, just takes a bit to get full boost. I think 2530 to run 12's is a proven combo. For some reason I don't seem to notice decent times with highflow turbos. I'm running 13.4 atm and I wont bore you with my issues but the weird thing is that I run very good times on the roudy roundy tracks. Maybe I'm just no good at the short one. But still there it is, I've got 255rwkw with a highflow but I can't get a 12 but it has been proven that 220-240 from a 2530 will get you one. Watch this space though. I might get there yet with a little practice. Going to a test and tune day soon.
  16. Glad you had fun Matt. It is a neat package Primordial. 1:30 is pretty damn good for a newbie.
  17. but but but, on R33 GTS4's they have 4 studs so I kind of thought it would be the same with R32's.
  18. This is the simple, to the point and relevant answer. There is one other possibility. Take it to a shop with a dyno and tell them to install it and set it to Xpsi. They will do it charge you about $150 and you can happily drive away. I think the real issue here is that you have dissed our cars despite owning one. I can understand you being skepctical of a single post but you have plenty of people here backing it up. Like GTST I get a bit annoyed when I give a detailed and thought out response to someone's question who then ignores it. I think I'm getting old because so many 18yo's come across as arrogant little c**ts to me these days. No offence to those that aren't like that. I bet you come from Sydney.
  19. You could always get it made out of titanium. I have a Fujitsubo system. Not sure what it's called but I was at a shop once and there was a car there with it so I said I want that one and they got it for me. My system is 3" from the turbo back (GTT) and is not restrictive. I have 255rwkw at only 0.9 bar of boost from a highflow turbo so I think that proves it's lack of restriction. 3.5" is just louder if you ask me but in terms of power you can't relly go wrong going bigger.
  20. Interesting. Buster's right. They all have their place and not just from a performance perspective. There are other things to consider. I looked at the rebuild NEO or go RB30 thing recently when mine blew and decided that the rebuild suited me best. I'm happy with my choice and enjoying it.
  21. Yeah some pics of em would be great. Maybe we could get some linky happening with other forums.
  22. Sweet, it's looking like yours at this point in time. Do you need it in any rush?
