Ok I've figured out how to do it. It uses the existing plugs. You just cable tie the new ballast under the light assembly then put in the new globe and plug. Easy. I guess I should say I have ballasts, globes and wiring here to do the conversion for sale.

Your Advice. I Have A "good" Dilemna Here
Abo Bob replied to LatinR33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Those that tell it wont make any extra lag are not observant enough to notice. -
GCG don't do two stages anymore I don't think. The stage two had compressor surge issues. SAU NSW members get 10% discount at GCG. I reckon for an R33 GTST then a 2530 would get down the quarter quicker. Just so much mid range punch. Aquariz you should get a powerFC with your turbo upgrade if you want to take full advantage of it.

Who Can Replace Ex Manifold Studs In Syd?
Abo Bob replied to silver gts-t's topic in New South Wales
Imagine how weak they would be if they were aluminium. It's the constant heating and cooling that weakens them, age is the killer. Our R31 has about 4 or 5 missing but doesn't leak at all so I'll leave it as is. -
That's what I thought too but I'm glad somebody more knowledgable than me said it first.

4 speaker system I believe. We do have the coin tray. $40 plus post.

1. 2 piece is easier to work on. 2. dunno, you didn't give us specs on either. 3. Not a gimmick. Worth getting. The longer the split the better. 4. Probably longer than you will have the car. Mild is fine. 5. If getting a split one better to get a one piece.

BWA you need $85 for the licence and $29 for the extinguisher. Yes we do need them Mr Baron and there is no requirement for metal brackets.

Stan (satanic) and I have been stripping a R34 wreck over the last couple of weeks. A number of parts are already gone for personal usage / repair but there's still plenty left – it’s now time to clear up some space and help out fellow SAU members. As more and more parts come off the car, they will be listed and photos will be put up. R34 GTT Altia Wing - $150 It's white, it doesn't include the side parts but why would you want them anyway? Ugly as sin! Anyway, the wing is about twice as high as the normal wing and white in colour. And before you ask, the uprights are not the same shape at the top as the normal wing. Centre Triple Gauges Cluster and Cowling (ie the cover that goes over them). $300 These are the stock 3 gauges that go above the climate control area in the centre of the dash up top. I don't think they would work in any other car but I may be mistaken. They are one complete unit. Factory R34GTT Electric Mirrors in White - $400 In perfect working order, no scratches whatsoever on the housing or the mirrors! Damaged X-Force 3" Cat-Back Exhaust System - $200 SOLD There is a bend in the pipe just in front of the X-Force muffler that is a bit more bent than it should be. Any exhaust shop would be able to either heat it up and unbend it or replace the bend with a new bit of pipe. Couple of small dings in the muffler. The photos that I've got coming will help you understand. If this doesn't sell in a week or 3 I might fix it myself and sell it for more. R34GTT Factory Ash-Tray/s - $30ea. There are two ash-trays available, both are in brand new condition. Not too sure if they are R34 specific, they may or may not fit a R33 or even a R32. R34GTT Single Din Pocket with Spring Loaded Lid - $40 Single DIN pocket with flip down lid that comes standard on all GTTs. Perfect condition and is black in colour – good for having a concealable slot for all your personal items (mobile, wallet etc). R34GTT Side Indicators (amber) - $20ea There are two sets available. Need replacements for those cracked indicators after wear and tear or even an accident, this set is in good order with no scratches visible. Rubber seal around the light is also in top condition. R34GTT Coupe Rear Parcel Shelf - $80 Own rear parcel shelf a bit worn or faded? We have one that is in very good condition – no scratches, no rips or tears and both speaker grilles are perfect (aside from holes drilled for child restraint mounts). R34GTT Rear View Mirror - $10 Standard Rear View Mirror – will fit any Skyline as far as we’re concerned! R34GTT Standard Speaker Setup - $40ea Two sets available! Factory Speakers (4 piece) for returning that sounds system to stock form! NEO Engine Cover Mounting Bracket - $20 Used on RB25DET to properly mount the NEO engine cover. Two piece assembly that bolts straight onto the RB25DET NEO engine. Complete RB25DET NEO Package (Tiptronic) - $4,000 For more information please see: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...T&f=12&t=114416 Plenty more to be added in due course… For anything else you can pm myself or Stan (satanic). EDIT: A-Pillar mould SOLD Climate control SOLD Brakes SOLD

Overheating With Aftermarket Rad And Fan
Abo Bob replied to SkylineBNR32's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
16" thermo -
That's true. I have been in a near accident in the rain with cruise control on. I wasn't driving.

These lights were factory Xenon then converted for compliance and reconverted back again using JDM S15 ballasts. They've been in an accident so there's two options here; do the whole bake them and pull the covers off, polish up the plastic inside and out, find a way to mount them. They did need to be unbolted and seemed to stay in place pretty well but I can't tell if they would have wobbled when in place. Second option is to use the globes and ballasts etc to convert your lights to xenon. Could be the cheapest Xenon conversion out if you can figure out how to do it. Sydney $500

I got one made by Micks Metalcraft.

Overheating With Aftermarket Rad And Fan
Abo Bob replied to SkylineBNR32's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
How quickly does this happen? I suspect the thermostat if it happens quickly. A 14" fan will not pull enough air through even if it's working properly but on cool days driving along it should still be fine. I think some of them can be wired backwards which can spin the fan in the wrong direction. Stock fan or 16" thermo, stock is better. -

Where Do I Get Professional Window Cleaning Gear?
Abo Bob replied to Abo Bob's topic in New South Wales
when you pay me. -
By casting around and taking bit's and pieces from several cars I am able to offer the following package. It would suit someone doing the full job on another car like a R31 or something lke that. RB25DET NEO engine - comes with turbo, manual loom, coilpacks. R34 Auto transmission - all sensors etc. Stock auto ECU from R34 GTT. R34 GTT shifter and linkages. An R34 GTT steering wheel with shifting buttons and airbag can be supplied if needed. All wiring diagrams necessary for the conversion can be supplied. Everything is in Sydney and will probably be in the northern beaches for pickup. Freight will cost extra. I can't really give you pics at the moment because a number of these parts are still in various cars. Suffice to say they are all the standard parts. All parts will be coming off the cars for various upgrades over the next few weeks. Things of note. We don't have an AFM at the moment but quite possibly will have one in about a month. We don't have the engine fan either so a thermofan would do or I believe the other RB engine fans all fit anyway. Also, given that the manual loom is supplied rather than the auto one, you will have to run a few wires to the auto trans but I'll see what I can do about supplying those at least. Cost is $4000 non negotiable. Please pm questions or call me on 0421 301 061.

Anyone On Ns.com Able To Help Me Out?
Abo Bob replied to Abo Bob's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Wow no replies for ages and then heaps at once. I tried getting my 100 posts up in there technical section but I only know general stuff. Got 5 posts in 2 days though!!! Also not getting emails despite being subscribed to the thread. I will pm you cc because I know you and you know me. Thanks for the offer though Mr MAD. -
Nah it's probably trying to buck you out of the car Loz. It's scared!
-
Mine sucked shut at 228rwkw. It just loses power when it's warm particularly high in the revs. It was actually fine on the street but sucked at the drags. I didn't know the R33's etc had the same problem.
-
Bonkers, I've been sending you emails all along about extinguishers and the like. I don't think that's ok yogi. The easiest way I think is to get a strip of aluminium from the hardware store, two holes, one at either end then bolt it to the same holes that your front seat mounts are using. So under your legs. Then the bracket of the extinguisher bolts to that strip. I've never seen an accident either. Also we kick the idiots off the track so as not to endanger you.

There is a shitload of information out there about how much (little) oil there is. I don't know where you too get your info from. Probably Paul Wolfowitz (sp?). Interest rates wont rise anytime soon. They will just keep on hinting that they will to keep inflation in check. Also, fuel doesn't add as much to the price of things as you think. Australia actually has one of the most efficient freight systems in the world - if not the most efficient. When the last fuel price surge happened Dairy Farmers tried to put a litre of milk up 13 cents claiming increased fuel costs. Then someone leaked a document showing that fuel accounts for about 2 cents a litre total meaning that any increase would be likely to be around 0.2 cents a litre. Also, along with most people in this country there seems to be some confusion on what are State responsibilities and what are Federal. The RTA is a State based organisation and while the states do tax petrol, they don't take any where near as much as the federal government. In fact, the federal government taxes it twice. Gotta love the tax on a tax!!
