  1. One time this woman comes up with her trolley and we're asking her about all the stuff on the top which we could see and she makes a big thing about not speaking english then as she pushed the trolley away I noticed some bowls of yellow wobbly on the bottom shelf and I whispered to my friends at the table, "What the f**k is that?" She turns round right then and goes, "TAPIOCA PUDDING!"
  2. I had a good look at the new turbosmart reg before I let Adrian have it and it's a great looking piece of machinery. You need a gauge to set the pressure first up but from then on you can turn it by hand in 0.25 psi increments.
  3. Obviously you have to do what suits you but we need to get people to enter as early as possible to confirm the viability of the day.
  4. Sorry I didn't say hi MYS013, Every time I was about to come over something else was happening. Is yours the screamer car MR331307?
  5. Sounds cool. I wonder how big it would need to be to put out 2-300kw.
  6. The rule is actually self leveling suspension.
  7. MMM yum cha. How about we organise an SAU yum cha. Sky Phoenix is run by the same people as Golden Century but less attitude. We could get one of the private rooms and cut sick! Yum cha is best started early like 12 or 12:15 and allow an hour and a half to stuff yourself. Who's up for it? Shall I start a specific thread in events? Tell your bosses you are networking for their benefit. All we have to do is tell each other what we do for a job and we're not lying.
  8. I should have asked someone to take a pic of my burnout. I just went for a little drive to release some pent up energy and log some data. The removal of the radiator air flow panel has definitely defintely improved the power. I can't believe I was choking it so badly before nor can I believe the tortuous route the air is required to run to get eaten by my engine.
  9. Hey mate. Ignore that last pm obviously. I was going to say that I don't know what timing but I went out to the car and took it for a run and logged the data for you. Porting is still an issue. Bigger ports will always give the escaping gas a lower velocity and your turbo needs high velocity, high energy gases to spin it quickly. Stock compression ratio is 9:1. Are you sure this didn't change when you had the head work done? Run_1.zip
  10. Instead of an SAFC you could try the new fuel cut defender 3 from Turbosmart. Cheaper. http://www.turbosmart.com.au/index.php?s=fuel-cut-defenders
  11. Damn Mona with her impressiveness. Ahh sorry Ben. Yeah it was one of those brainwaves that results in more money being spent on the car. At least I did some good burnouts. My speedo saw 180km/h in a couple of them!!!
  12. The day is structured in groups that go out together one every 10 seconds from the pits - not a grid. The groups will be of cars that are doing similar lap times. Last track day we did two car sprints in the middle of the day for 5 laps which was fun and I think we are doing this again if there is enough interest. Mr Plunk - perhaps you could start a thread for us to help you with your cooling problems. Jay - we are always willing to help out newbies. We want you to be addicted to the track like us. There is no test for the licence. You need a helmet. There are a few threads on here about getting your car ready for the track but we can easily tell you the basics when it gets closer to the day. Also, one of the more experienced and level headed guys will be coming out with you on your first laps to give you pointers on saftey and how to get the most out of your car. There are not many track days better for newbies than SAU/RENEW ones but the fast guys still get free rein in their group. Does that help everyone?
  13. Well I'm home now because we got rained out. I got 4 runs in, all of which were crap. I got to thinking and decided that the radiator airflow panel might be restricting me so we took it off and then the rain stopped another run but on the drive home it definitely felt more powerful. The airbox itself is not a restriction, it's getting air to it that's the problem. I would say my 256 dyno kilowatts are more like 220 road kilowatts with my current setup.
  14. I have been to a number of workshops around sydney and would happily recommend them. I've had nothing major done there but their attitude is in a different class.
  15. Looks fine out here. I'm going down now.
  16. HAHA SteveO I got online eventually and had to start the thread myself.
  17. Well it rained earlier but the roads seem dry now as it's pretty warm. I've got my drag tyres on and de-punctured. SAU is up and running finally. So what am I waiting for? 13.4 here I come Who's coming?
  18. I work in law in Sydney and have a lot of contacts. I have helped a few forum and club members out in the past. I am not a lawyer. I am a Barrister's Clerk so I basically hook the solicitors up with the barristers. I am more likely to give you practical advice than definitive legal advice because that's what I know. Eg I might say 'it looks like you were in the right there but in these sorts of cases both parties usually lose due to the costs involved so you're best to forget it'. The unfortunate thing is that we are living in an era of a new conservatism and the result is that the pollies think they know better than the cops and the judges so they are increasingly putting automatic penalties in place, thus overriding the judicial authority. Eg automatic licence suspensions for exceding a certain speed or losing all your demerit points. They exist for drink driving too. People can pm me for help if they like. I can tell you it's scary how many incompetant lawyers there are out there. Also a recommendation from most people is worthless because they only know one or at best two lawyers. I know hundreds.
  19. How much do you want to spend? I know heaps of places to eat in the city. Lunch or dinner?
  20. Nothing to do with the boost but get that heat shield and put it back on. Your exhaust guy is lazy.
  21. So ya wanna fight?!!!! hehe. You certainly do have some serious lag there and I'm wondering whether you have cams or not. Your engine or associated hardware may have a restriction on the inlet side causing the compressor surge. Perhaps some cams or adjustment of the cam gears would bring the boost on earlier if you can get some more overlap. By way of comparison here is my dyno sheet from the SAU Dyno Day last saturday. I can get 1 bar by 3200. Also my car hasn't been tuned for this setup. My AFR's a very rich and all over the shop so more power to be had without requiring more boost. BTW Disco - Did you realise you were agreeing with me there?
  22. Agree if that's as far as you end up going but you may get the bug for more power and then you will regret not going for forgies.
  23. Yup a nice split dump will free up your top end nicely and add a kw or 3 to the rest. It's running a bit lean for my liking. You might need a new fuel pump unless that's just the tune. I wouldn't run that much boost either. It's commonly found that 13 psi will give you no more power than 12 psi with the stock turbo.
  24. Same with stock R33 GTR.
  25. As usual I will point out that there are two different GT-RS's. The one for SR20's and RB26's in pairs is smaller than the one for RB25's. I think the GT-RS is a slightly bigger possibly better turbo than the GCG highflow with R34 or VG exhaust housing but the 2535 is on a par with it.
