Not sure if sewids car was strapped or not. Andy has owned the car for about 3 weeks so doesn't know much about it. Has stock ecu but seems chipped with that power. he was quite surprised.

Legend you did win your class. I've got some motul oil and a filter to give you whenever I can next see you thanks to UAS. Beer Baron R32 GTR stock turbo was Andy with 250.5 rwkw so you would have been up there. He is not on the forums yet but joined the club on the day. R32 GTR aftermarket turbo was Morgs with 364.8rwkw. Both the R32 GTR categories won Turbosmart oil caps which look pretty trick. Wilch you better appreciate that trophy - cost a packet. (a packet of chewing gum that is)

I just had a call from the V8 Owners club about a drag day they are running this sunday. They are 10 cars short and so would like some skylines. I have dealt with these guys a few times in the past and they are a good bunch so nothing to fear especially if 5 or 10 people go. I have other things booked so I can't but otherwise I would. The deal is this: $250 for the day. Includes entry for 5 spectators, which you can sell to your mates for $10 each or something to help cover your costs. Lunch, drinks and other food is included for all 6. 2 corporate boxes with air con booked for everyone to use to get out of the heat or whatever. Only cars 11.000 and slower can go. You get a DVD mailed to you after with your car and a general video of the day. If you have 2 cars (eg race car and tow car) you can drive both on the track at no extra cost. Ring Peter on 0407 376658 preferably today or tomorrow to sort out payment etc. Tell him you are form here.

1. Happy to be corrected. No drama in the end and yes it was a very respectable output. 2. Ok I guess I have to be more explicit with the rules. Since its supposed to be a friendly club event I would have thought it was obvious that race fuel and nitrous were not going to be things many people had so best left out of it. I will in future assume nothing. that is a very kind offer I'm not having a go at any bezerkers and I suggest you ignore El Bee in this regard meaning there is nothing there for you to be upset about. E_Lu-SHun hurry up man. How dare you keep us waiting.

This thread is closed until I write a complete answer. Anyone who starts a new thread about this (unless it's just a pics thread) will have their account temporarily suspended. Elbee I will get a reply to you shortly. Ok here is my wrap up post. I bow to all those who have thanked me for organising the day. I was wrecked when I got home but it was a good day all round and worth it. Sometimes it seems the only way we can possibly keep you all happy is to run only non competitive events. Perhaps the compromise solution is to give no prizes to the R33 GTST category as that is always the problem category. El Bee – you are a grown man and have seemed at all times prior to this to be a decent and nice person. I can’t believe the fuss you have been making here. You have embarrassed yourself over the many hours you posted here. I rubbed your car off the board. I did it because firstly, you told me you had the turbo high flowed and rebuilt at GCG last year and secondly, because I know that GCG do not do standard rebuilds of RB25 turbos – they only highflow. A stock turbo is stock when it comes out of the factory, any modification or rebuilding (or in your case the machining out to within a mm or two of it’s life and the stuffing of a GT30 core in it) of a turbo causes that turbo to cease being stock. I left the board blank while I tried to find Primordial to ask him what he got because I thought he had the previous highest. A little later I came back and a new name was on the board and I think it was Charlie said to me something like ‘the figures are saved in the dyno computer so you can easily get them out’. I misinterpreted this to mean that he had got the figures from the computer and put them on the board but all that had happened was the next highest figure was put there. If I was you, the question I would have left the dyno day with would not be ‘why didn’t I win the stock turbo category with my non-stock turbo’ but ‘why am I only making 205rwkw with my bigger turbo, PFC, injectors, etc.’ when most other people with similar setups are getting 220-240? As to the various power figures that everyone got; do you need any more proof that the dyno is a tuning tool rather than an accurate measuring instrument? That said, for those interested I got 255rwkw at Bel Garage on a similar day a month ago and without making any changes I made 256rwkw on Saturday at UAS. Ben tried very hard in difficult conditions to give everyone a fair go. Imagine if your workday consisted of an 11 hour day, 9 hours of which were spent in a hot, humid, noisy, fume filled and stressful room with quite literally 5 minutes for lunch. It’s possible you might not get every car/job exactly right, especially since you are rushed for time trying to get 48 cars through. The nos run by 2rismo I don’t believe should count and I told 2rismo this before he even ran. RBFIRE should have won that category – despite the apparent happy reading - but because of the misunderstanding we didn’t know. It’s a bit hard for me to now find 2rismo and take the prize off him. We may find out later that RBFIRE’s car had the stock ECU chipped in Japan and runs some very aggressive timing to make that figure realistic. (Do you feel like posting your graph for us to see RBFIRE?) Yes Adrian/2rismo can come across as arrogant to the uninitiated and perhaps El Bee, you found him so, but you have been around for a long time and so if you haven’t figured him out yet you can at least come and ask me or any of the other people you have known for a year or two what our opinion is. If you or anyone else wants us to devise a system that 100% ensures that this sort of thing can’t happen I can tell you it is possible but it will quite likely cost everyone about double. Skylines Australia NSW is a club run by volunteers. As for a ‘circus surrounding the Bezerkely boys’ – I can assure you that they hold no sway over me or UAS and if you don’t believe me I don’t care. I would have appreciated 2rismo telling me that his mate was a workshop car (as it appears to be) because I would not have allowed it to win. I'm very glad I didn't have to worry about that in the end. We run these days for the enjoyment of the majority. I do try, but it seems I am doomed to failure when it comes to pleasing everybody. Prizes are there to add to the fun of the day and create a talking point. They are not the be all and end all, they are nothing but a diversion from the true purpose of the day which is to entertain people. It’s a social day out – not a bloodthirsty competition! I’m glad the majority of you did have fun. The winners and details will be posted shortly.

What usually happens is that most people come at around the same time so that you will get on the dyno at the same eventual time whether you arrive at 1pm or 3pm probably. Give me a call 0421 301 061 before coming down if you like and I'll give you a quick rundown of whats happening. Remember it's 9am til 4pm.

I think I might just try some of John's super fuel. See if I can hit 300rwkw by cheating!
-
Maybe it has air brakes?
-
Roy - you just put your foot down and it doesn't really slow down like it should so you push harder and harder until it slows down. Kind of like losing 3/4 of the vacuum required to make them work properly on normal pads. I have just spent about 2 days reading forums and other sites and have decided to try some Ferrodo 2500's. Apparently they work from 0 but are a good step up form the Ultimates without breaking the bank although they still cost about $450 for a full set.

Spotted MADGTR on Castlereagh street this morning about 7:40am. You work in the city Oz?
-
Which is bloody great news!!!!!! This car will be there and I have a video here that says it's capable of at least 449.2rwkw. but I can't tell you any more than that because it's top secret.
-
hmm not sure about that. I suspect it just means non member dyno runners will get it too.
-
Man, SAU only sees about 15 posts a day these days. It's boring. It's called A-manning duncan!

Somehow I missed all these extra replies. _8OO5TED_ - 255rwkw at 0.9 bar GCG highflow turbo Nismo 480cc injectors Tomei 260 degree Poncams Wiseco Forged pistons (8.75:1CR) Pro Engines oil pump drive collar Blitz LM FMIC CES and Fujitsubo exhaust Nismo panel filter MV Automatics valvebody upgrade and rebuilt trans to handle 300+rwkw Bilstein Shocks Kings Springs Powerplay ROM Tune Apexi AVC-R Dual core copper radiator Oil cooler 97r33gtst-typeM - they are still not common here in Australia. silver gts-t - yeah something like those would be nice. I'm not abo or arabic, I'm 6th generation aussie from 50/50 Irish and English blood. I will keep the nick so as to add to my online allure. POOMBAH - Yeah it is good. Sometimes I wish I could stretch it about 3-4cm down without wrecking the lines. Maxx - I've never seen series two in the flesh. In some pics it looks great, in others awful. JUNR34 - The factory eyelids are the way to go. Better than the aftermarket ones unless you have a black car with CF bonnet and CF eyelids like E-Lu-Shun. That wing you are referring to is the Altia wing and is ugly as. When you take off the side sections they leave dirty great big holes in the rear quarters too.

Bring it to the dyno day for a test run darko. That will tell you where it's at.
-
Ok I think I will have to go then. I haven't been for ages. Maybe see if I can line up and get beaten by mona. :) No shame there. Car is running good these days... finally. So I'm interested to see what I can do. I'm coming around to your place to practice my burnouts shonen.

My car is a july 99 GTT and has 101000k's on it. I know for a fact that when it arrived here it was barely driven for 6 months and it spent half of last year off the road while it was resprayed, new turbo'd, rebuilt transmissioned and rebuilt engined. The car is still in very good interior condition as well as things like bushes and other areas of wear. So I'm basically assuming that it's k's are real which makes me sound hypocritical when I say I reckon 90% of them have had their odo's wound back but I don't care. 30,000 k's in 8 year old cars. Pffft. Ya dreamin'. I once inspected a GTir which I think was a 1991 model. It had 20,000 k's precisely on it. The car salesman seriously tried to tell that "the japs don't drive their cars much". Bullshit. Just accept that the k's are unlikely to be genuine and look for other signs. The only other thing I'll add is that it appears (and I've never been there so I could well be wrong) that the roads in Japan are a lot smoother than our shitty potholed crap heaps (esp. Sydney) so a large number of parts of the car will cop less wear for the same k's had they been all done here.

Nice one mona. Does dave = to4gtr? I think I'll come out next week. Let's see if I can get the twin records of worst burnout and highest powered car running 13's!!!
-
FWD need more power to get the ET don't they?
-
I think there are too many thing to be changed to make it worthwhile. You would be better off getting some second hand poncams from someone that are made for that engine. I mean at the very least you will have issues with the cas fitting.
-
That can be done on the day.
-
If both of those tyres were new the first would 2.08 metres in circumference and the second 1.91 metres. That doesn't sound safe let alone able to be put on the dyno. Could you put another stocker on there?
-
Well make sure you pay up on pay day so you don't run out of money. This will be a worthwhile day for you to get a good feel for your car. There will be plenty of people around to instruct on the day. --- About time fatzzzzzz. Let's see how that thing grips!
