Cams is more generally a workshop job as there are a few things to know before attempting it at home. More than one person has snapped a cam shaft by tightening it up wrong.

Putting the cams in doesn't involve taking the head off so no don't worry about head work.

R34 diff knowledge is not easy to come by. I'm about to pull out my viscous diff so we can check that out but build date is about july 99 I think.

I cut one of the hoses going to the trans cooler and put in there a brass device that pritek made for me on the spot. Basically I went in there with a bit of the hose to get the inside diameter and the temp sensor. I ended up with an T shaped thing that has an inlet and outlet for the hose and another hole which you screw the temp sensor into. Works a treat. I looked at those covers. I don't like them.

Yeah that's different because that involves the law of ownership and conversion.
