  1. I'm sure it is guys.
  2. Insert :wavey: smilie here.
  3. Well if you put the 2530's back on you would most likely win the aftermarket turbo section. You're welcome ports and deviat. Fixed the first post with the typo. 10% of all punches thrown on the day will be to 2rismo . This looks like being huge guys. Firming up for the 11th.
  4. I couldn't find that. Can you link me up?
  5. haha I found out accidentally that that line is pretty good for getting all the coolant out. Not too easy to get to though.
  6. I would say he emulates for sure.
  7. Just to let you guys know my stock cooler is about 280x160xwhatever and has been moved to the side out of the way of the radiator and intercooler. I decided to put a temperature gauge in to see what the temps were doing. I asked an expert what temps to worry about and was told to keep it under 130 degrees C. I then went to Wakefield on a hot day and did numerous laps. The trans fluid temp never got over 105. The conclusion I'm drawing here is that the cooler is smaller in size but handles the job no worries. I have no idea whether more heat is generated towing or racing. I have a tube without the fins for my power steering stock. Should I be worrying about cooling this fluid any more? For some weird reason it's on the other side of the car to the power steering fluid reservoir. Maybe because of the steering box being on that side.
  8. Well that's interesting. Has anyone got a pic of the JE piston lying around? Do they have short skirts? I went for the wiseco's recently for the abovementioned reasons basically. Teflon coated skirts from factory, clearances are smaller than some, fairly quiet compared to some, nice long skirts for keeping square in the bore, not expensive. This weight saving says to me you have even less reason to get a new crank. Just my opinion.
  9. Of Course. Early March may be the go. 4th 11th or 18th? I might turn this into a poll unless people offer other more distant suggestions. So sooner or later peoples?
  10. auto, 255rwkw, bilsteins, semi slicks.
  11. Hey guys, Time to start the year off with some events. We will be trying for a drag day at some stage (cough cough) and have several track days lined up as well as a skid pan/motorkhana in the pipeline. Anyway, a few people have been asking for a dyno day so here it comes. It will be on a saturday at Unique Autosports in Castle Hill. How soon does everyone think we should do it? I guess we should wait for some cooler weather but who wants to wait forever? Give me some feedback here on likely attendees and when you think we should do it. Costing is $45 for SAU club members and $55 for non members. There will be prizes for each category of: Stock Turbo R32 GTST Aftermarket Turbo R32 GTST Stock Turbo R32 GTR Aftermarket Turbo R32 GTR Stock Turbo R33 GTST Aftermarket Turbo R33 GTST Stock Turbo R33 GTR Aftermarket Turbo R33 GTR Stock Turbo R34 GTT Aftermarket Turbo R34 GTT Stock Turbo R34 GTR Aftermarket Turbo R34 GTR Dyno is a rear wheel drive dyno but GTR's will have their fuse pulled or drive shafts removed free of charge. UAS will be giving everyone attending 10% off the price of parts in stock. There are some other things happening like a Nismo V35 in attendance and perhaps the mighty zed will hop up on the dyno so people can see what 400-450 rwkw looks like. Also looking like having DVD giveaways and other stuff like that. What do you all think? EDIT **************** Confirmed for Saturday 11 March. 9am til 4pm or later if there are still cars to go on. I will be there a bit before but first car goes on at 9am. Unique Autosports can be found here ---> UAS This looks like being a big one guys. I will be taking money and names on the day so that everyone goes on the dyno in order of arrival. Bring your membership cards club members. We will have membership forms available on the day for those who want to join.
  12. Unfortunately I'm out. Maybe next week.
  13. 350cc x 6 bumped up rail pressure it's possible. Maybe it's a slightly happy dyno too?
  14. Not crowded at all. Water temp over 100 is ok. Not great but ok. Mine went nuts. Need a new radiator as I already have an oil cooler.
  15. The weak point on that crank is the oil pump drive which the collar deals with. How is the crank getting weaker with age? A new crank is never perfect anyway, it still needs some machining. Also please note I tied your 500hp power figure to my statement. Forged pistons are generally heavier than cast but you are making up for it with those rods - whether you need them or not is another story.
  16. Has anyone pointed out yet your choice of turbo is overkill for your stated power goal. Get a GT-RS or something like that.
  17. I don't see why a crank collar properly fitted would not be good enough for 500hp. It costs half as much or less 'but I might as well throw $500 in the river since I'm rebuilding the engine anyway'. Note sarcasm - not rudely meant, just easier to use. Also those pistons will not likely be lighter will they? More likely the opposite. Dunno about the rods.
  18. Ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding.
  19. R34 GTR or R34 GTT? If GTT then replace it now!
  20. I looked at getting a second hand engine but ended up going for a rebuild. You might as well for the cost difference.
  21. One of the SAU NSW club members helped me out with TNT to transport it. Best to get your engine builder to book it on their account and then bill you, that way you get proper trade price. I drove to an industrial area (not far for me) and looked around for a pallet of the right size (you want one about half or even less the normal size). It was easy, had plenty to choose from. Companies just stack them up near their rubbish bins. I bought a twin pack of those snatch straps for about $10 and strapped the engine down tight.
  22. Well hope you guys are having fun on this hot day. I did a 1:12.04 which was good.
  23. Auto are usually longer. Ie 3.9 in the above case.
  24. Did I miss it or did you not tell us exactly which turbo you are getting?
  25. I went to Pro engines www.proengines.com.au and the experience was good. Check out my thread. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=95854
