  1. Pro Engines in Queanbeyan now sell these. I am told that they are made from 4340 Chrome Moly which is as hard as what the crank is made out of. $150 supplied or $350 fitted. These are not the sort of thing you can fit yourself at home. http://www.proengines.com.au/
  2. That is right. I don't know what type the r32 gtst is though.
  3. There is an australian one being made and as I type is being fitted to my crank.
  4. No offense intended to you or anyone else but I think putting 15" subbies in cars is one of the stupidest ideas out there. Eg; a average kick drum sound has most of it's energy at around 63Hz. A 63Hz sound wave takes 16 feet to travel one cycle. So unless you are 16 feet away from the speaker or more, a very large proportion of the awesome output of a 15" subbie is completely wasted on you. All you can hear in the car is reflected waves. This explains why people on the street can hear perfectly the sub bass created (and the number plate rattling) but the idiot in the car doesn't even think it's turned up that loud.
  5. I think the VG30DET valves are the same. I only read this exact info last night but I don't have it in front of me right now so I'm not 100% sure.
  6. That is the Nissan Aero bar on my 4 door . I think you are correct Luc. The R33 poncams are 256's but R34 are 252's which is where I went wrong. R33 = 8.5 lift; R34 = 9.15 lift. Yeah baby! That extra half a mm says it all, at least that's what all the girls say...
  7. Yeah it's obvious you have the stock ECU there. Should be interesting.
  8. You will need the NEO harness and ECU. I can't see why the R33 alternator wouldn't work. Not sure on DE loom. Maybe. edit: too slow.
  9. In the high 20's you can get R32 GTR's with fully rebuilt engines and turbos and some other goodies. I can't believe the prices people pay for stockers when there are some really good modified ones out there at low prices.
  10. There wont be much in it. It will probably be slightly slower off the line than something that was manual to start with but there are plenty of other variables to change that anyway. Put it this way; at 100km/h in 4th (manual) with auto diff you are doing about 2340rpm but change the diff ratio to the manual diff and you only slow down to 99.3km/h. Disclaimer - this presumes I've done my calculations correctly...
  11. You do need a new manifold for the TD range.
  12. 4.111 for the manual and 4.083 for the auto.
  13. One of the major problems with private track hires has been that until yesterday there were no officially communicated rules. They have not at any time published or provided to hirers any reasons. I have been told by WSID that it is to do with safety, and similar to what Mr Blonde was saying, they are calling cars faster than 11.000 "full blooded race cars". The safety aspects cited were track preparation and staff numbers. The preparation aspect falls over because I was told that "the track is only prepped to street meet level" and then they allow cars faster than 11.000 at a street meet. And the staff numbers aspect has little credibility because they could easily offer to increase the number of staff to the correct amount for a certain fee but they have not chosen to do so.
  14. Make one with some aluminium from the hardware store.
  15. Surely a GT-RS is too big.
  16. GT-RS on an RB20 sounds a bit big to me. Maybe a Td06-18g might be the go.
  17. They are sanctioned by ANDRA. All drag racing in NSW is sanctioned by ANDRA.
  18. Some of it is directed at us. At least they finally spelled out the rules for us but of course no admission that they have been lax in providing those rules to us previously. "To be fair, this may simply occur through a lack of understanding on the part of the hirer" This was the closest they came.

  20. It's got problems then. Perhaps the O2 sensor is stuffed. You need to check the error codes manually after you download the manual from somewhere or get someone to plug in a consult. Nissan dealers have them.
  21. I will be directly depositing from tomorrow. I've had to wait for the WSID cheque to clear in the SAU account then a cheque to be written to me, deposited and cleared in my account before I can start depositing to the entrants accounts.
  22. $750 is ridiculous. You guys should be aware that the difference between an R34 turbo and an R33 turbo is in the exhaust housing only so if you think the VG30 turbo is no good because of the size of the exhaust housing then the R34 trbo will be the same because the exhaust housings are the same. As for the neo compressor wheel being known to fly apart when pushed... what the? It's the same as the R3 series 2 compressor wheel anyway. Is that known to fly apart?
  23. If it's been on the dyno them post up the dyno graph for us. What air/fuel ratios is it running?
  24. I got my dad to time me back when I was doing 1:15's and they were surprisingly consistant. The trick is to use the slowest corner as your timing mark.
