Sorry Mark. My bad. It just seemed a little funny that someone who has owned their Skyline long enough to be finished with it and want to sell it would not know what fuel to put in it. I thought you were having a lend of us.

How Many Of You Have Licked The Stick?

When I was discharged from hospital recently I was told not to drive both times. Morphine make pain go away. -
Ooh, an exciting thread. I reckon an SS Comode could probably go that fast and I can tell you that they are that good at driving. My mate was HWP in Canberra and they have their own private track which they practice on all the time. Not only no costs but they even get paid to practice. I've also been in a HWP car on a high speed chase (years ago, prolly wouldn't be allowed these days) and seen the skills on the streets. Also I can guarantee you they have the guts. Lastly, since the guy pulled over they only would have had to come out onto the pretty much straight fwy, floor it until the guy they were chasing saw the lights then cruise up to a stop. Hardly taxing. Yeah cos there's so many blocks of flats around the Hume fwy. Side streets every 50m too. Ditto cabs. Probably. Parity in law and punishment is not a concept our governments - or out people for that matter - are interested in. I think most people on this forum would stop. There's no where to run out there and they can radio ahead for other cop cars to intercept you. It's probably all just a matter of where you sit. If it's in an import you think it's imports that are being targeted, if it's a comode then it's comodes that get targeted. Certainly the last time I saw an article on street racers being caught with a pic I counted about 7 VL's, 2 newer comodes, a falcon and something else I can't remember. Not true. If you are young you have a good chance of being 'randomly' pulled over. If you drive a 'hoon' type car then your chances are probably tripled. I used to get pulled over heaps when I was younger in my v8 days. In 4.5 years of owning the Skyline I can only think of 3 times. Well justified on at least 2 of those occasions and possibly on the 3rd.

It's also illegal to eat raw onions in the park but that doesn't stop some people.

How Many Of You Have Licked The Stick?

Cannabis, speed, speed, speed, mostly speed, but let's not forget speeding. Kills more people than Atilla the Hun! -
If this is true then you can organise these things elsewhere. SAU is not for organising maniac drives.

The club has chairs. Sorry if this issue has been sorted already I was skimming.

Well I've put 55,000 km on mine in 4.5 years so that's about 12,000 km a year average I think but that's still 235km a week according to my calculator. There's no doubt though that the last couple of years have only had about 5,000 each done in them which is about 100km a week. I think I do about 20,000 km a year on the bike although not at the moment...

We are running this as a driver training day, meaning that passengers are allowed all day. This will be good for people needing some instruction. You can have an experienced person in the passenger seat giving you some tips then you can go out in their car as passenger to see what they do. I want a big showing for this. If you only go to one track day this year, make it this one. It's going to be a big social event with great fun racing as well. I want all you newbies out there taking advantage of the instruction available because you don't get opportunities like this anymore. When I started doing track days about 4 years ago, passengers were allowed most of the time, now it's rare. With this in mind we have secured some insurance that basically lets us do what we want. The other people that I really want there are the club elders, the guys with heaps of experience and fast cars. We need you guys to be our instructors. We are limiting the numbers of entrants as per last year so that everyone gets heaps of track time. No doubt there will be a bunch of people going down the night before for some cheap accommodation and frivolity. We will have a separate accommodation thread. Edit - here it is. Please read this and follow the instructions! Entry will be $160 per car for SAU club members and $180 for non members. Cars can be double entered but needs double payment. You can enter two cars for one driver but we reserve the right to charge extra for this depending on the take up. You need either a CAMS L2S licence or a Wakefield/AASA Licence. The CAMS one costs $88 a year and is used on most tracks around the country for a number of different kind of events (particularly the L2S open days that a number of us go to quite regularly) and must be purchased before the event. You need to be a member of a CAMS affiliated club, like SAU, to get one of these too. The Wakefield licence costs $50 a year and is available on the day from the track. You will also nee a helmet, long pants and long sleeve shirt. Refunds will be given up to 3 weeks before the event or, if after this date, when someone else takes your spot. We will be keeping a reserve list as I expect this event to sell out. CAMS L2S Application form - Click to download The Skylines Australia bank account details are as follows: Bank - NAB Branch - Marrickville Account name - Skylines Australia NSW BSB - 082 356 Account number - 546 393 766 Please put your full name in the description. If you are depositing at a branch then make sure you put your name on the deposit form (I know there is a spot for it on there somewhere) and ask the teller to enter it so he/she doesn't forget. (Alternatively you van use a credit card or Paypal by following this link.) When you have done all this email me at - bob at estc dot net dot au - with your internet banking receipt or date and branch of deposit. Please include in the email: Full name - User name on the forums - Mobile Number - Amount paid - Previous Wakefield lap time - (put other track lap time if unknown or write newbie if that's what you are) Copy and paste the above to make it easier for me. Important - You will not be confirmed until a deposit has been made. The following people have expressed interest in the other thread: R33Turbo blk180 MattD GTR32X HuH scathing Merli That's 26. To be on the reserve list please pm me. Gates open officially at 8am although they usually appear to be open by about 7:30. Sign on from 8am. Scruitineering at the scruitineering shed from 8am until 8:40. Drivers briefing and full track walk around at 8:40am - ALL DRIVERS MUST ATTEND. First session which will be noobs 9am. Remember there are a lot of people to get signed on so can I suggest that noobs get there as early as possible, sign on before doing anything else then get your car ready and scruitineered. Scruitineering will stop at 8:40 for the drivers briefing and start again for the stragglers at 9. The scruitineering will be done at the shed behind the garages. Two lines, noobs to the left, the rest to the right. Bring your helmet and what you will be wearing on the track as all this needs to pass scruitineering too.

Time to start elocution lessons methinks. This should be really good. Great for the club and good fun too. You can send the link out to all your friends so they can see you in action.

Yep, 2 cars 1 driver is same price, 2 drivers 1 car is a double entry.

I'm with you too although what you are describing is not bump steer. Twice on SAU cruises an uninvited subaru forrester or similar, way too low has pretty much bumped off the road and crashed badly. No one hurt in either case. Two different unrelated cars btw. As for 99.9% of defects being fair enough to the letter of the law Malcolm. I think the percentage is lower. Ask Steveo about being defected for something being too shiny and having too many km on the clock (43x,xxx km). If you've ever spent some time reading through ADR's and other laws in an attempt to comply you will see just how stupid some of them are. It's not so much the cops enforcing incorrectly, although they do, it's more a case of who the f**k really knows!? This is not just in relation to cars although they are a great example, it comes up all over the place. We live in an over governed country.

Cost is $160 for members and $180 non members. Official thread up shortly and we will be accepting payments.

Actually my gf is from France. That's it madbung, you're done for!

Maybe it's just that you guys do it too often. It actually annoys/offends me to constantly hear guys calling each other poofs, fags and so on. It was rampant on here for a while a couple of years ago. I don't mind it said occasionally and it can be funny in the right context but when it gets used in a slightly more derogatory/insultive way I don't like it and when it's overused it's annoying and not funny. Also I think that it depends on the person hearing the thing you say as to how offensive it is. Eg, I have two gay uncles (cue jokes from the next 6 posters) so calling someone gay in a derogatory way bothers me. If those girls at your work had a mentally disabled brother you can be sure they wouldn't use the word retard. Now, in relation to this, the laws try to cover everything. The law, and you for that matter, can't know what is offensive to everyone so they try to be broad. In my view, the hope is that the law will be used as a backup after ordinary reasonableness and reliance on polite deference have failed. By this mean that the law in this case is a blunt instrument. If I was your manager I would take you boys aside and suggest politely that in the interests of workplace harmony I'd like you to cut most of that stuff out, particularly around the girls. I wouldn't, and I doubt your manager is, suggest that the odd expletive issued directly after a painful experience is in anyway an issue.

It's not a half arsed attitude, it's a realistic attitude. As for being half the problem with society these days, I'd put it closer to 1%.

Not necessary.
