  1. Ok guys. What we have here at the moment is advance notice of the event. Many more details will follow and we will definitely be keeping you all informed.
  2. What turbo do you have GTTR34?
  3. Yeah that's exactly where I was going to mount it. Is the actual mounting point down low or somewhere on the front radiator support? Have you changed your oil since it's been there? Did the oil come out everywhere? Also, I notice your fuse box cover is worn away too. I scanned Shonens and made a new one which I'm going to get printed onto a sticker to stick over the top. I'm also going to paint the cover white to match the car and I painted that battery cover white too. You have the same one as me. I was wondering if they were stock cos I haven't noticed anyone else with one.
  4. Money in.
  5. Ok I ended up mounting it behind the coolers in the front guard on it's side on a bracket I made from aluminium. That guard is officially full now. The sucky thing was that the thread for the filter relocation thingie is not the same as the thread for the filter that goes with this car. Are there multiple thread types?
  6. I got ****ed around by those bolts just last weekend so let me tell you all about it. You need a thin socket (can't remember if they are 10 or 12mm) the kind that fits on a 1/4 or 3/8 inch drive. Your ordinary socket with half inch drive will not fit in there. Of course you need an extension bar as well. I think I used ones about 10 cm long. I was standing outside the car and reaching down. For the back one, when it was loose the ratchet didn't work. Getting it out was ok, just use the socket and bar with your fingers but getting it back in required someone to ratchet from underneath while someone held the bar, to make the ratchet work, from the top.
  7. Thanks. Ahh I see, so you are not eligible to run in the class if underweight. I guess this was one of the rules that wasn't really stuck to at Compak Attack. I'm pretty sure I'd be over 1410 kgs though.
  8. Here is Carls dyno readout.
  9. I feel qualified enough to say, youse r orl krazee.
  10. How does your vehicles weight get taken into consideration?
  11. I'm interested to find out what it would cost for a 1.5 way LSD Type RS for my auto R34. I think the ratio is 4.083
  12. Hate to be the one to say it but 'do a search'. Heaps of people use them. I've got one. There have been lengthy discussions about them and also on several others.
  13. Olde Castille in Bondi has the best pizzas out. They are super popular though and parking not great, which is ok now because after 20 odd years they have finally opened another store in Randwick. We have never tried having a dinner in the east or south. 80% north 20% westish.
  14. I know what you mean about missing new posts Ferni. Maybe this should go in the suggestions thread but maybe the new posts function could be modified to say 'new posts since : ' Personally I hate when I get a pm I want to see and/or reply to but I don't have time to read all the new posts. I know it's sad but I'm not the only one who would die without SAU.
  15. I would do it again but tighten the nipple before the helper gets their foot to the floor. Ie while the fluid is still coming out fast. Takes longer but at least you know no air is going back in from the nipple. Where else could it get in?
  16. Thank you. It's amazing the leap in knowledge gained just from doing a job like changing injectors. I found a hose that goes from a connection to the carbon canister just behind the radiator passenger side labelled 'Purge' to something lablled 'Boost Sensor' way up the back mounted high on the firewall in the middle. Does this seem weird to anyone else?
  17. When my light went on I assumed it was overheating a little because I was on the race track and since my fix for the problem was to do about 3 km at about 70km/h to cool it down this seemed right, however, I have since discovered that there is a separate light for overheating transmission. This is in a 1999 R34 which I'm expecting to be relevant to you despite your car being uglier
  18. I know I have a viscous LSD. That's why it's so shit! Also, my pearl white series one has a whitish tending towards grey in some areas engine bay. I'll tell you one thing, it's definitely not pearl white under there.
  19. I got it from a thread about spun bearings in RB26. A bit does spill out from the normal side mounted position when you remove it but not heaps. I just put that down to being able to get it hole facing up fairly quickly. Hmm, Maybe I should look into putting it in the guard there behind the oil cooler and transmision cooler, just to the left of the water cooler and the intercooler and airconditioning system cooler. Phew! What next? A diff oil cooler?
  20. Just a question. When you say one hose for your AVC-R, do mean the hose that connects to the little black thing which is wired to the actual solenoid? Doesn't that mean that your AVC-R and your boost gauge are reading the same thing negating the need for a boost gauge?
  21. 1:11 is moving along nicely. My best is 1:15 with stock turbo but I have just installed a GCG highflow myself. Twill be interesting.
  22. Richard has the answers to most of my questions it seems Thank you. However; if I pull off the filter and the hole is facing down, wont all the oil in the filter sploosh straight out everywhere? It would be easier to mop up a few drips (or more likely put a rag underneath first) than a big sploosh. Also, I guess why I quoted Sydneykid above was that I wondered if the filter will not filter as well up high or perhaps it affects oil pressure.
  23. For anyone reading this... Take the top half of the plenum off. Sounds so easy doesn't it? WELL IT'S NOT! Haha. As well as the bolts that go around the outside of the plenum, there are 3 underneath. You need a thin socket (can't remember if they are 10 or 12mm) the kind that fits on a 1/4 or 3/8 inch drive. Your ordinary socket with half inch drive will not fit in there. Don't even think about trying to pull the rail off without removing the top of the plenum, it might look like you just need to unbolt one more thing or remove one more hose to give you room but it will never happen for you. You have been warned. Notice Fatz say 1-2 hours. Abo Bob say allow 6 at least.
  24. Why is that? I was thinking about mounting mine in front of the battery in my R34. Is there any difference between pointing the opening of the filter up or down? I thought maybe I'd mount it facing up so that I get no spillages when changing it. I suppose I could mount the filter behind the oil cooler low down drivers side. I'd have to wind up the excess hose though. Thanks.
