  1. Maybe you have a longer diff in it. How many revs are you doing in 4th gear at 100km/h
  2. Hey! Happy birthday.
  3. Was quoted $600 remove and replace. Get more satisfaction out of doing myself anyway. Also, it's already in pieces in my garage which is down a very steep slope so no tow truck is getting in there.
  4. Thanks guys. I have already tried coventry. No go. Repco says they have the washers so I'll go there. They should have the bolts too wouldn't you think? I have a CES split dump/front pipe combo. I couldn't believe GCG didn't have the washers! I didn't take the manifold off. Turbo came off it easily despite several people warning me I would have to take the manifold off to get the turbo off. Oil return gasket? Is that the one on the bottom of the turbo? I've got the locking plate for the turbo to manifold bolts so no worries there. I will try to fit in a dyno run without the cat back to test this theory for sure. Of course I'll post up results Ben I'll be like, "Look I got 5 rwkw from a turbo upgrade" (Best to talk it down to avoid disapointment)
  5. Hi all. I am fitting my high flowed turbo this weekend. I took it off myself with a couple of hassles. One bolt holding the dump onto the exhaust housing broke off and one was a hex head (allen key) bolt which required an allen key fitting for the socket set as an allen key itself didn't have enough room to swing. Anyway, should I, could I replace the allen key bolt with a normal one or is there some reason for it being there that I can't see? The replacement bolt for the one I twisted off, is it special? Do I use locktite or anything like that anywhere, like the turbo to manifold bolts or the dump pipe to turbo exhaust housing bolts? I lost a couple of the copper washers from the oil lines and water lines. I've been told that these things compress and that I should get all new ones anyway. Should I? There seems to be two on each bolt right? Who sells these? I've tried Auto1, Bunnings and GCG with no luck so far. Am I alright to reuse the gaskets? They look ok. The turbo to manifold one is fairly new anyway cos I spat it about 6 months ago. Should I be cleaning any parts out in any particular way while things are apart? When the stock turbo blew plenty of oil got burnt. Does any part of the exhaust need cleaning? It's all sort of brown on the inside instead of black. And finally, while I have your attention, I noticed how easy it was to get the exhaust off. If I got a side pipe to replace the cat and cat back sections of the exhaust for track days, would it effect the tune and cause me problems or do you think I would get a few extra kilowatts out of it? Thanks.
  6. I have driven with some really good street tyres on the front and really bad ones on the back which is nearly comparable. It's pretty much as you would expect. You have no front end issues, barely even think about it because you are perpetually concerned about your rear end stepping out, as it does again and again. You can only then drive as fast out of a corner as your rear tyres will allow; ie reduced speed due to wheelspin. Under heavy brakes again the back end steps out but the situation is not as bad comparatively speaking. High speed corners I found fairly intimidating. Not comfortable.
  7. So can anyone add to the infor required as to R33 series 2 and R34 in this or the other thread? I'm just about to do this and wouldn't have a clue. Thanks.
  8. New turbo goes in next weekend Bass. Hint hint .
  9. Whoops. Too slow.
  10. Yes the diffs whine. auto or manual?
  11. Same here until I found out they were charging more than recommended retail price for it. Now I get it from Powerplay.
  12. They can send you a fine in the mail but there is no way of knowing except for the passing of time. I would say it's most likely that you haven't been caught unless it was a camera you are talking about. I think it's actually quite hard to get a speeding ticket in Sydney.
  13. Even standing next to your car for 10 minutes is no guarantee pm me your mobile number when you get a chance.
  14. An L2S is the one you get from the club right? And a C3 you have to have log books and things?
  15. That "BMW" was pretty crazy. Quad rotor twin turbo ya? It wasn't the only car there that could barely stay running long enough to stage. I'm very much a drag racing novice but even I could tell that the rules were very relaxed. How did people finish anyway? two.06L your car was sounding sweet as. So smooth. Made it seem like a bigger engine than it is. I only saw 11.7 but I could tell there was much more in it than that. About the third race I saw was Adrian doing a 12.21 which was good to see. Adrian, you are a) very hard to find and B) very popular. Thanks for the tickets. Muchly appreciated. Also thanks Buster for getting them to me. So what's the go with cars and other things being stolen? That is really ****ed. Any more info?
  16. Well I'll never know exactly what the vb will have given me because I am putting in a new turbo at the same time. If I could have I would have done them separately.
  17. The pic on the left is the right one.
  18. Powerplay in Sydney sell them.
  19. I think the search function needs to be improved. Can you incorporate Google into the site at all. I've seen other sites where they have a little google bit you can search their site with. I have been using Google desktop for a while now and it's so much easier to find information on my computers now. 2 and 3 letter words should be easier to search for expecially given the amount of acronyms people use in relation to cars. "My Z32 AFM with PFC doesn't work." Thanks.
  20. Well you might as well make sure your plugs are gapped to 0.8 while you have the thing apart. Hope it works out fine for you.
  21. So did you get your valvebody done? I'm pretty sure my R34 has the 'B' transmission and I had to pull my vb out and send it to MV rather than getting an exchange.
