The short answer is that you are doing it right from the point of view of getting the synchros lined up right and therefore going easier on your gearbox. The way you do it, you could not use the clutch at all if you are any good at it. I can't see the point in constant rev gear changes without double clutching.

There are plenty of people on here with 250 and more with the standard plenum. Don't waste your money.

I'm down to 1:15.52 at Wakefield Park now. I notice that's what Tosh was getting last year in the MR2. I really notice the size of the 4 door on that circuit but I'd like to think that if I match him at Wakefield then I should beat him at Eastern Creek.

So what's the disadvantage of a small exhaust AR? If small gives better response, what's the trade off?

I was pretty set on a GCG Highflow for my GTT but a few people have posted unhappiness with them. It hasn't completely put me off but it made me think of alternatives. Then I wanted a GT-RS but they are on the expensive side and not always making the power I was expecting from them. Then I found out about this horsepowerinabox turbo: 1. GT30 with Nissan exhaust housing which is around 0.63 AR. 2. 0.7 compressor cover 3. 56 trim 4. 2.25/3.00 wheel diameter 5. apparently good for 500 horsies of power 6. 55 lb/min ??? not sure on this part. Someone mentioned 240rwkw on a thread where I brought it up. I've also heard 280rwkw both on RB25's but I've no idea about what other mods were done. My question is, is the 0.63 exhaust housing going to make this a light switch kind of turbo? Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about this turbo they can pass on to me? What kind of power levels have been achieved? Driveability? Where abouts would you see 1 bar of boost? I've heard 3-3500 but... Anything else you think I should know? Thanks.

On the outside. I use some plastic polish that was in a tube that Prank lent me one time but next time I've got some plastic polish from Meguires that's more of a liquid in a bottle.

Ok, just spoke to him then. He can't find any valvebodies for R34 so we have to send our own down. About a week turnaround and I got the impression he would do his best to look after us knowing that our cars would be off the road to get it done.

Moving into less known territory here but I think because the RB20 requires less air. I'm guessing it would have to have less torque too but it's probably in a lighter car with who knows what other mods for an 11 second pass. People here have tried it on an RB25 and despite others telling them that they can get 250 they never can. There is all sorts of talk about boost controllers and waste gates actuators but in the end it doesn't seem to be able to push enough air into the RB25. I'm sure a stock turbo can push 200 rwkw at 1 bar, in fact, probably at a little under one bar.

I don't think we do all know that. More like 220-230 with boost dropping late in the rev range on an RB25.

I use the same as Duncan with no dramas at all. My engine oil gets hot way before my brakes have a chance to fade.

They are modifying your valvebody for the next guy so you don't get it back however you can easily buy one second hand and return it to stock. I would have thought that with throttle control you could smooth the shifts a little also if it's rough at lower speeds but as the old fart says, it stays smooth at low speeds. I can't wait to get this mod. I think I'm even more excited about this than about my new turbo.

What is 400 ps likely to be in rwkw?

Yeah when I had my last one done there were a few bubbles but they went away on their own. He will look after you.
