  1. Import one. Cheap as chips.
  2. You don't need to know anyone. How do you think most of us met each other?
  3. That's what I did to mine. Just decided how much I wanted to bend then hammered it over a sharp step with a rubber mallet.
  4. I disconnected the top cooler pipe and turned the engine on in neutral. This pumped about 3.5L out. So I guess the rest was in the torque converter.
  5. In.
  6. Another 350 HP and I'm there.
  7. So where's Dave's car?
  8. I have put new fluid in my auto box and can report sharper shifting although it could be better. I don't think I got all the fluid out of the torque converter so I have ended up with a mix of old and new fluid.
  9. Well Bob, I'm glad you asked. I don't know how much the transmission holds but if you pump it out through the pipe that connects to the top of your transmission cooler you can get about 3.5L out. As for the diff, I think it was 1.3 or 1.4L. It's got a funny looking nut that is a circle with a square hole in it for both the drain and fill hole. What you do is stick the drive of your socket set (don't use the ratchet, use the bar with the square drive) in there. It was bloody tight and the zorst got in the way a bit which was kind of ok because it was partly off it's rubber holder thingie and this made me notice it.
  10. I also changed my diff oil which has given me an improvement.
  11. Well I did mine on the weekend and you might just be right Steven. I did the drain thing from the transmission cooler (it's the top hose you take off) but only 3.5L or so came out. I then took off the sump bolt and there was none left in it. After I put the new fluid in I noticed that I could have taken off the dust cover that sits between the sump and the bell housing (about 10 bolts as there looks to be some stiffening brackets there) and got to the torque converter. I don't know if this would have done me any good but I'm sort of expecting that there might have been a drain plug in the torque converter itself so you can get the rest of it out. I wasn't trying to make mine shift smoother I was trying to make it shift harder. To this end I did get some improvement although perhaps not quite as much as I had hoped for. I guess this is because of the fluid I couldn't get out. For the info of people out there I poured the new fluid down the dipstick pipe no worries.
  12. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/at...achmentid=14366 I have an RB25 NEO Tiptronic. Nismo Panel Filter AVC-R boost controller set to 0.8 bar CES Racing split dump/front pipe 3" "High flow" (probably not really) cat Fujitsubo cat back (fairly quiet) Modified stock ECU DBA 4000 Rotors 189.4 rwkw I just put Redline High Temp ATF in the transmission which has sharpened shifts up and also Redline Lightweight Shockproof in the diff which grips a bit better now.
  13. You want to fill the car with sound rather than point them right at you because you don't sit in the middle of the car. The side you are on will dominate your field of sound and ruin it all if you mount them too close to your head. That's why kick panels are a good spot or not too high in your door trim. I'm considering almost under the dash alongside the centre console pointing to the outside of the car, next to my turbo timer on my side and sort of at the bottom corner of the glove box on the other. Untried setup as yet though.
  14. I thought so but just checking.
  15. Do all you RB30 guys use RB25 heads or RB30 heads?
  16. $1800 but agreed with Knore.
  17. Why wouldn't you put the widest tyres you can fit and afford? You might have different width if your rear guards can hold wider than your front ones as they do on a GTT but with 7.5" wide rims you're not where near too wide so put the widest sensibly possible on there.
  18. Have you got a dyno readout for that floating around anywhere SK? I don't care about shootout or whatever just interested in the power curve, average power and the like.
  19. Oh and put the same front and back.
  20. 245 40 17 will fit fine and be very close to the same rolling circumference although if your car is not lowered you could probably get away with 45 series.
  21. Is that near Chatswood?
  22. You could always sell your hiflow later. Don't know what people would pay for one though.
  23. BTW I also have a CES split dump. Nice, aren't they...
  24. My mechanic, who is very conservative and knowledgable about Skylines says 12.5 psi is absolutely fine. Knore - where are you getting your info about standard turbo not making any more power after 12 psi? Seems a little far fetched to me... (no offence intended). I've put over a bar through mine and it hammered. Admittedly it spat a gasket and an intercooler pipe though .
  25. Try putting some different fluid in there first. Put some Redline lightweight Shock in it.
