And look at it this way. Most of the people on this forum can't afford one. There's heaps less of them and there are heaps less people who both like them and can afford them. If I were selling mine I would have to realise that I'm selling to a very small market which is, geographically speaking, spread over a very large area. Not an easy thing to do.

I find that if you keep the polish up to your front end, and I mean heaps of it, then the bugs come off heaps easy. i drive down to canberra a bit too. I just use that turtle wax once a year stuff on the whole bumper and front lip of the bonnet but I use it about once a month.

Now that I've grown up my policy is to assume that every **** on the road is trying to hit me. Works wonders. This is how you do it: Whenever there is a bit of road you can't see; like over a crest, down a side street, round a bend, WHATEVER; slow down and prepare to brake hard. Assume you are invisible because to some people you are. I usually get 220 to 260 kms to a tank of fuel (sometimes as low as 180:D) and this works for me. I feel confident that it's not just luck that no one has hit me. I've had two accidents years ago and if I had employed this theory then one of them wouldn't have happened. The other one was a fifty fifty combo of my stupidity and some other people's negligence. Look after yourselves peoples because no one else will.

I don't know what the rules are but I read that HRT made only 2 of those 427's with a view to building them for general consumption but when they did their figures the cars would have cost $200k and no matter how much you love holdens you're not going to spend that much money on one. I'm sideways around every corner too but still I'm invisible. hahaha The other day when it was raining I had my parents in the back seat and my gf in the front. My gf had my hand in hers and I was just gently (I thought) cruising around the corner out of Oxford Street into College Street next to Hyde Park. Back end starts sliding out, gf grips hand very tight instead of letting go, right hand grabs about 2/3 reverse lock and right foot keeps an even throttle. The car didn't straighten out for about 20 metres, no fishy just a smooth transition, so I look around to see the reactions: GF - grin from ear to ear but still not letting go of my hand. Mum - "Were we sideways just then?" Dad - "Yes I think we were." About 40 people seen in rear view mirrors waiting to cross the road - various reactions all looking my way. Me - "As if. The road slopes to the side that's all."

Ok I'm going out to the creek on monday so what's the go? 1. Helmet? 2. Long sleeve shirt? Why? 3. Put cheap tyres on. 4. I have an auto/tiptronic. Will I have tranny overheating problems? How do I know if it's getting bad? Just keep an eye on my engine oil temp gauge I guess. 5. It's twenty minute runs I think. Much waiting in between? 6. Anything else I should know?
