  1. I don't think adding an oil cooler will help as you already have an aftermarket radiator. There is something wrong. As suggested, make sure the system is bled of air properly, look for things like oil in the coolant, is it losing fluid at all? Did you do those things, rad etc, to fix this problem or did it happen before then.
  2. I doubt you have 88mm bores yet. That's a second major rebore. For some reason I don't understand people seem to skip a size over when rebuilding and go straight to 87mm. 88mm is 4 sizes over. I only went 87 on my RB25 because I couldn't find 86.5mm pistons. They are available these days however. Those cams will be a great match for the GT-SS's. Keep the CR as high as you dare. I'd go the 1mm but 1.2mm wont kill you.
  3. They wouldn't have called you if it was normal.
  4. Just buy a second hand R33 stock turbo. Cheapest option and will run for years at 10psi. Subie they bolt straight on.
  5. If you don't know what we mean by check ignition timing then yes. Alternatively you can pm me and drive over to my place (Sutherland) and I will check it for you and give you a short guided tour around your car.
  6. Yes bolts straight on. About $500.
  7. Hmm, let me get this right, OPGP track EVERY DAY from 2-9 Jan? Hmm, hot or not, I'm keen. Turn the boost down and go round and round and round!
  8. Just moving this thread to the general NSW section as it's not an event... yet.
  9. Don't do it. The R34 RE4R01A and the one from the R33 are mechanically pretty much the same but the valvebodies and the electronics are totally different. Unless you are really good with car wiring this will be a nightmare. The R34 TCU is a single unit with the ECU so getting them to talk to a stock R33 ECU would certainly be a challenge. You can manualise the R33 box if you want. Talk to Mike at MV Automatics in Adelaide as he is without a doubt the preeminent expert in this area. Last I spoke to him the shifts were made with an after market shifter like a B&M but if it can be all done electronically now then I don't see why you couldn't buy a tiptronic steering wheel off someone like me who has done a manual conversion and wire up the buttons.
  10. They are a two way, not one way. I used to have a Nismo 1 way and it was very obnoxious. You do get used to it and you learn to drive around it a bit but everyone does look at you funny, which I quite enjoyed. Still, some days, maybe I was a bit tired or cranky, it would annoy me a lot. Now I have a full GTR rear end and it's much nicer on the street. The lock up on the track isn't as good but overall I would say that it's a better compromise for a street car. To do this you need the diff centre, housing, half shafts, drive shafts and hubs from an R32 GTR. It all bolts up. I got the lot with rear subframe for $700 from a mate. SSS wanted $1200 so somewhere in between there is your window. That said, I agree that you should get someone who has a 1.5 way or 1 way to take you for a little drive so you can see what it's like. Any old SAU type event should do or post up where you are and maybe someone from here lives nearby.
  11. I wasn't planning on fanging it. I've heard tales of moss in the nasho which I think is an excuse for poor riding. I live in Sutherland and I've been through there many times, including in the pissing down rain. It's no more dangerous than any other road but it does have more cops. The old pac is crawling with them too. I was going to suggest we start early and have coffee down in Thirroul. Those who are keen can keep going to Mac Pass with me.
  12. I don't think I'll be going to that Brighton one any time soon. It will end in tears or mass bookings sometime soon I'm guessing. How about a meet in Liverpool and cruise to Wollongong through the Nasho? I've done a few accidental wheelies but I'm not particularly into them. The first one on my current bike twisting on a little too much throttle in 2nd gear coming out of a roundabout. 45 degrees to the road both sideways and frontways and I got a target fixation on a street light down the road a ways; the street LIGHT, not the pole. By pure fluke I landed like I meant it and then looked up to notice a cop car with two cops standing beside it who hadn't even noticed. Phew.
  13. So if you do a runner and get away from them you get away with the offence? I don't think so.
  14. I would find him and call him and tell him that I totally accept the ticket but that his behaviour was very bad form and gives all cops a bad rep. Probably wont do anything but if you are polite enough and come across just right you just might have educated someone.
  15. Not necessary for drift, only for drag with good tyres. Could be cheaper though.
  16. A tune can definitely help. So can proper use of cam gears by your tuner. I have cams and get 1 bar by 3100.
  17. Is that a 1.5 60 footer? NICE!
  18. Like the bonnet.
  19. Sounds like an interesting swap. Still stock turbo? How does it go?
  20. 650 bah, need at least 1200 to have fun... j/k. I could probably be happy with the right 600 but right now the 1200 is too much fun. How does everyone feel about the 19th or 20th of Jan for our SAU bike cruise?
  21. Looks good man. Is it missing rear pods/bar?
  22. He could pull you over and do the same thing.
  23. A letter in the mail is notification enough.
  24. I had this and the boot inside the booster was split. I replaced the whole thing with an R34 GTR one and all was right with the world again.
