  1. Just got my latest copy of PC Authority and there on page 22 in the top five sites section under car recreation at number 4 is www.skylineaustralia.com (their bad spelling). Thank god (or someone anyway) we beat fast fours!
  2. I've seen that one too (on Parra rd). I'd pass up a blowie just to see it go by a few times in a row.
  3. What are you using?
  4. If you just put a new zorst in and the rest is stock, should you, can you, tune it? Mine is an r34.
  5. Thanks guys. I have spoken to Fhrx and am going a small box but high powered 10" in that hole on the shelf in the boot. The amp will also be able to run two of the internal speakers and they will have sound deadening put behind them. I'm going for a new deck but will leave the rest of the interior till the next time I want to waste some money in this direction. This is a bloody addiction. I only just bought the car and I'm lining up this stereo upgrade, new zorst and bilsteins to go in over the next month. Am I crazy?
  6. That's Loz. It's a beastie car. (apart from the boot...)
  7. Ok lets just get one thing straight... I NEED a sub in my car. I refuse to put 6x9's in and ever since my home stereo went from 1600 watt PA speakers to Monitor Audio Silver series my ears have become fussy. I intend to figure out the inside of my car myself (with the help of a shop and people feel free to suggest a quality installer not too far from the eastern suburbs of Sydney cos I'm not from here originally) but sub wise I'm short of information. My initial thought is to mount a really nice 10" right in the hole behind the armrest and fold it down when stereo is on. If room allows I'd like it to be in a ported (to the front) enclosure but I don't think it's worth while porting it if I can't fit a big enough baffle in to keep the driver far enough away from the port. (Could a tube style port work here?) Perhaps I should just mount the 10" on a board that seals the interior from the boot? It has also been suggested to me that I could put a 12" (or maybe 2) back in the corner of the boot instead but it doesn't feel right to me. Sorry for the long post but my audio knowledge is rusty (and originally learnt from the PA side of things) and I'd like to go to an installer with as much info in my head as possible. PS Should there be a light in my boot, cos if there is it aint working?

  9. put a small jack underneath the shock mate. they can be a bitch to compress by hand.
  10. Me thinks the collumns got shifted in the translation. I had Bridgestone Potenzas on my SSS which I liked. Choice magazine did a test that included them and hey actually had the same stopping distance in the wet and the dry and in the dry they were I think 2nd best.
  11. Do you put it in D or do you change with the stick 666DAN?
  12. Ah thanks for that. I just realised that it was the Bilstein Hot Rod shocks that come in comfort and sport. I read the thing wrong. I have been told that the Bilsteins will last 50k with the standard springs and this persons opinion was that it was worth it for the comfort factor.
  13. Hey there peeps. I think I've decided on Bilstein shockies for my 34 because I can lower the ride height without needing new springs, which also means I keep the progressive rate of the standard springs = comfort when cruising but firmness when cornering hard (to my knowledge). My question is; am I going for the sport version or the comfort version? And how much have people been paying for these? I was quoted $1k for all four but I didn't ask or get told whether this was for sport or comfort. Thanks in advance for your comments.
  14. You can change gears with a tiptronic on the steering wheel or with the gear stick. I have also heard that most people don't use the buttons on the wheel but I do all the time. I think it's because from the very first day I owned it I used them. The only problem I have is that if you're booting it you have to press the button about 1000rpm before you want it to actually change gears because the revs climb so quickly.
  15. Here's mine
  16. Surely if you were going to spend the money on some new wheels you'd go the 18 inchers don't ya reckon?
