  1. Everyone check out the next track day thread. It's Oran Park GP and it's real soon.
  2. It's on a friday so get the day off now. EDIT**************************8 This is a direct paste from the members thread Monday 18 May. Sorry it's on a Friday guys but it was the only day left for the full GP circuit. More details to come but get the day off and get your car ready. No CAMS licence necessary and the day will be super cheap. Who's in? Big Time EDIT********************************************* Hello Members, The Only Official Oran Park Grand Prix Track Day ever likely to happen will be held on Friday June 12. As usual all are welcome, especially newbies. Last track day had about 50% of the entrants being newbies. It was great to see. The reason why the newbies feel comfortable coming as well as the experienced folk is how we run it. The first sessions for the newbs are done with an experienced driver in the passenger seat giving tips. We structure this day, officially, as a driver training day. After this newbs can go out on their own the rest of the day but there will always be plenty of experienced track heads on hand to jump in and give you a few pointers at any time. The attraction for the experienced track peeps is pure track time. We limit the day to 50 cars which means heaps of track time. Now for the great news: As a special treat for members we are making this a $100 track day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You will NOT need a CAMS or AASA licence, and the club is charging you only $100 to participate in the track day. IMPORTANT - Follow these instructions please. Never in all my years doing this has everyone followed all the instructions so let's see if we can pull it off this time. 1. Post up here once you have done this. Things to take note of: 1. You will need a helmet, full length sleeves, full length pants and proper shoes. 2. You should get an emailed reply confirming your spot in the track day in the following week after you deposit. 3. This is limited to members only at this stage. If we need more numbers we will open it up but at full price. 4. Bleed your brakes before you come unless you have done it in the last 6 months. Check for at least 50% meat on your pads while you're at it. 5. Add an extra 1/2 to full litre of oil before you take it out on the track. Protect those bearings. On the day. Gates open officially at 8am although they usually appear to be open by about 7:30. Sign on from 8am. Scruitineering at the scruitineering shed from 8am until 8:40. Drivers briefing at 8:40am - ALL DRIVERS MUST ATTEND. First session which will be noobs 9am. Remember there are a lot of people to get signed on so can I suggest that noobs get there as early as possible, sign on before doing anything else then get your car ready and scruitineered. Scruitineering will stop at 8:40 for the drivers briefing and start again for the stragglers at 9. The scruitineering will be done in the garages closest to where you go onto the track at the bottom of the straight. If you camp in that shed to set up your car we will kick you out. Two lines, noobs to the left, the rest to the right. Bring your helmet and what you will be wearing on the track as all this needs to pass scruitineering too. This is the cheapest Oran Park Grand Prix track day ever. No expensive licence needed, no fuel costs down to Goulburn, no overnight accomodation. Get the day off now and make your payment. You will never see something like this again. 3. I think I forgot to thank you too Neil, so thanks. dnissi that's really moving. I think SR20's sound like puss personally but I like the cars in every other way and yours puts the numbers down so well done. Very impressive.
  4. Well thanks everyone for coming and thanks for behaving yourselves. I'm glad you all had fun, sux about the few that had troubles, myself included in that. Fatz ghetto coilpack fix saved my day. I couldn't seem to push out any better than a 1:09.6 today but I had fun nontheless. Ando you are going to get that car into the 1:08's, I'm sure of it. Thanks Dan for you help - sux about the failboat. Cheers for the beers too, onto number 3 now and feeling a little better although Cali is still working at cooking me dinner. Duncan, a world champion as usual. Spent all day helping people. Thanks mate. Chubbs good work on flags and scruitineering. Pity about the car... Everyone who helped out on the flags from time to time, thanks. The weather - thank you god, I have never been to a more perfect Wakefield day. And lastly David... just lift off a bit mate.. lift off... BRAKES... BRAKE... PUT YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE!

  7. Hi All, The 1st official Wakefield track day for 2009 will be held on Saturday May 2. As usual all are welcome, especially newbies. Last year this track day had 50% of the entrants being newbies. We limit the day to 46 cars which means heaps of track time. Now for the great news: As a special treat for members we are making this a $70 track day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You will still need a CAMS or Wakefield licence, more on those later, but the club is charging you only $70 to participate in the track day. Non member cost is $140. If you were feeling really sneaky you could become a member for $60 and then it's only $70 for the track day. $130 for track AND membership! IMPORTANT - Follow these instructions please. Never in all my years doing this has everyone followed all the instructions so let's see if we can pull it off this time. 1. Post up here once you have done this. Things to take note of: 1. You need either a CAMS L2S licence or a Wakefield/AASA Licence. The CAMS one costs $95 for this year and is used on most tracks around the country for a number of different kind of events (particularly the L2S open days that a number of us go to quite regularly) and must be purchased before the event (best to do it as soon as you have confirmation that you have a spot in this track day). You need to be a member of a CAMS affiliated club, like SAU, to get one of these too. The Wakefield licence costs about $50 a year and is available on the day from the track. Link to CAMS licence. 2. You will need a helmet, full length sleeves, full length pants and proper shoes. 3. You will get an emailed reply confirming your spot in the track day in the following week after you deposit. 4. This is limited to members only at this stage. If we need more numbers we will open it up but at full price. 5. Bleed your brakes before you come unless you have done it in the last 6 months. Check for at least 50% meat on your pads while you're at it. 6. Add an extra 1/2 to full litre of oil before you take it out on the track. Protect those bearings. On the day. Gates open officially at 8am although they usually appear to be open by about 7:30. Sign on from 8am. Scruitineering at the scruitineering shed from 8am until 8:40. Drivers briefing and full track walk around at 8:40am - ALL DRIVERS MUST ATTEND. First session which will be noobs 9am. Remember there are a lot of people to get signed on so can I suggest that noobs get there as early as possible, sign on before doing anything else then get your car ready and scruitineered. 8. Vouloir c'est pouvoir. I just learnt that one, seemed appropriate.
  9. Yeah I was there. It was pretty good. Horse The Band were my favourite. Nintendocore at it's best.
  10. Anyone going to Soundwave?
  11. A slip in silencer is illegal but you can just put a better muffler in the system somewhere. Looks nice. I reckon without the noise you should be fine.
  12. I have a small pump attached to a hose and fitting on the bottom of my catch can. The pump pumps the oil through a one way valve in to a T piece in the turbo oil return line. I only have the pump on when on the track.
  13. Which front bar do you have?
  14. I don't know what my paint code is. There really are heaps of pearl whites in the Nissan range though. I prefer the R34GTR Mspec pearl white to mine.
  15. I have replaced this gasket by unbolting the turbo and levering it off the manifold to slip the gasket in there. Obviously take all the intake pipes off first and the exhaust at the back of the turbo, but you don't have to remove the turbo itself or the lines which are the worst part of the job.
  16. Ooh, lots of interest. Make me an offer guys.
  17. Ok turns out they are the fuel gauge sender wires.
  18. No I can see the relay's wires, these are two other wires from the pump - I don't know where they go (into the unknown of the loom). The relay has been put in to bypass the the standard variable ground pump controller which is electronic rather than a relay. It died. The thing is that since the relay was put in, the car wont turn off, I believe because there is a voltage feeding back somehow, hence I am asking if I can cut these other two wires to the pump (it already has a power and an earth) to see if this fixes the problem.
  19. Thanks Shane but I need the pump wires rather than the relay wires.
  20. I've got a relay which sends power to the pump and an earth but what are the other two wires? Can I cut them? R34GTT btw. R34 GTR pump in tank. Thanks.
  21. It might fit with the tailgate open.
  22. Hmmz, it's been a long time. Sorry I'm no help but you can easy ring Mike.
  23. You're so gay Tom; but I love you anyway.
