  1. I know a few of you claim an oil spill on that corner but I really don't think there was one. Chubb and myself personally inspected the whole area on foot. Stopping to touch anything that looked likely. IMO the cars come over the previous rise turning to the left then the road immediately goes to the right and is off camber. The cars simply don't have enough weight over their left side tyres to effectively make the next corner. Either that or you all suck at driving. Anyway, next time we will have another chiccane there so you can't be going fast enough to kill yourselves.
  2. Umm most amount of seconds per kilowatt? Fastest (only) GTT Fastest club president Best looking driver... I'm struggling here people.
  3. Shannons insurance will cover you for 'driver training' days at the track but I don't think any other companies do. Eastern subs not so sure. I think C&V are closest to you but I don't know much about them. Realistically with a performance car you want to find a workshop you are comfortable with and be prepared to travel to them. I would suggest ProConcept in West Ryde might be a good start.
  4. I've cracked plenty of DBA 4000 rotors. Got the G4's on the front now but haven't really tested them out.
  5. Yup, I'll try tonight.
  6. A hit cone adds 5 seconds to your time whether you lightly brush it or smash it.
  7. I don't know one RTA worker that doesn't suck the zub. Is ratemyplates that site where the oldies complain about peoples driving? Or was that the hoon one that got the shit spammed out of it?
  8. Absolutely. Great effort. I think I needed to use first gear more out the back. Also looking at Turismo's times he actually did one faster but I think hit two cones from memory and they are a 5 second penalty each. I guess you could say it was a handling track, not a power track.

  10. I had this sound until I replaced my caster rods.
  11. He was second fastest on the skid pan too. He must have done some speed through the chicanes. I wonder if he took any shortcuts... I know there was a couple 'available'. I think I only did a 1:47.
  12. They are still in my car. I haven't even unloaded it yet.
  13. R34 is chippable but don't know the current costs. Try ringing Mark at hills motorsport and asking if he has a pfc. He often seems to have them.
  14. Yup, 34 GTR. Looks alright Kris. I originally fell in love with white 33's but ended up with the 34 for some reason... What's it got? Specs goddammit. I want specs!!
  15. Let us know how it goes.
  16. Nice shots there. Now we are all going to ask one by one for pictures of our own cars.
  17. I'd get a PFC.
  18. manual or auto?
  19. Big thanks to all the people who helped organise the day both beforehand and during. Big thanks also to those kind people who came along to help out doing things in such ways as bbqing and especially the people out on the back track. That's a big effort and well appreciated. You guys will have priority entry to the next event.
  20. Firstly, keep the insults to yourselves guys. Secondly, I think here, just like everywhere else, everyone is jumping to their own pre-judged conclusions. According to the SMH "The driver of the vehicle, a 20-year-old Liverpool man, was charged with failing to stop after a collision occasioning death and failing to submit to a breath test." Note, he was not charged with negligent driving occaisioning death, he was not charged with any speeding offences, he was charged with failing to stop etc. A court will hear all the evidence and decide on this guys guilt or innocence of whatever charges wind up being laid. The comments by witnesses about 'the familiar hiss of a turbo car' are meaningless as most of us have had people glare/yell/gesture/wave the pinky at us without even exceding the speed limit. As for the P plater arguments - they're getting old. Get over it. People will always die, younger drivers will always be over represented in the statistics. We should all just do what we can by leading by example, that's young people and older people.
  21. Actually you could take your air con belt off and switch it over to the alternator. They are all very simiar lengths. Yes you do need to tighten it but also try putting some pure soap (not bath soap) on the inside of the belt. If the squealing comes back after getting it tight and the soap then replace it cos the squealing it's already done has damaged it.
  22. We will all be down at the pub in Queanbeyan at 5pm.
  23. We will be down at the pub in Queanbeyan at 5pm. See you all there.
  24. Yeah we're not happy but we're making the best of the situation. The wet skid pan is actually quite diffucult and you will still be getting timed. I've got a cool little trick up my sleeve as well for added fun and also one for 2up battles. Apparently the guy who took our booking doesn't work there anymore and it was the new guy I was talking to who helped us realise the error. Yes the Stay Upright courses are on a lot. He has been very good given the situation so let's just trust that he comes through with everything he says he will. Yeah we got your form. 1. yes 2. yes 3. no need. Yes it will be at Sutton. We are planning to do these events regularly. This is our first attempt so while we have put a lot of effort into planning it, there may be teething problems. I guess we just didn't predict this particular one - right out of left field. I'm certainly not promising anything and I haven't even asked yet but we might get an hour on the dry pan at the end of the day when the bikes finish which we could use for battles. Yeah it would be pretty cool if we could get entry for the next one to those at this down to $20 or $30. Talk about the cheapest motorsport event out.
  25. In other news; We were notified a few hours ago that the skid pan at Sutton Road has been double booked and we are to be bumped. It is booked by the Stay Upright people and is a long term booking. Sutton Road are most apologetic and have offered us a deal to make up for it so that we can still have fun. We considered cancelling the event but after much talk we realised that we are in it to the hilt and would incur significant costs to do so. The deal offered is that we get refunded the money paid for the dry skid pan and we get the wet skid pan they have for free. We also get a discount on the back track which is still available to us. This equates to a $30-40 per entrant refund. Further more, we will get an unspecified discount on the next hiring of the facility which will be good. It is proposed that the refund be kept by the club to be put towards entry for the next Texikhana (on the proper skid pan), meaning that everyone who enters this time gets $30-40 off the next event and priority entry. Those who did not enter this time will pay the full price. Further in relation to price, future Texikhanas will be cheaper than this first one because we have incurred a number of one off costs. Also for those buying AASA licences, it covers you for 12 months and as mentioned above we will get a discounted rate at least for the very next one if not others into the future. We would like to get entry fees down under $50. The Executive have discussed the situation and believe that we can still have a lot of fun on Sunday. We actually wanted the wet skid pan originially in addition to the dry one and the back track but it was too expensive to have all 3. It is a next to no tyre wear track which can be drifted or driven and is quite difficult to go around fast. We have some ideas for making it competetive and difficult so we are sure you will enjoy yourselves. Don't forget that us organisers are also fully paid up entrants so we looked at this from both angles and are still keen. We are sorry to have to change the format of the day like this but hope that incentives offered will make up for it. We do not doubt that everyone will have fun. If anyone is feeling particularly hard done by then I will entertain requests for refunds in full or in part by pm only. This is not our fault at all and this is the best we can do with the unfortunate situation. Thanks guys. See you all Sunday or before. Adam.
