  1. I was going to say, 850 can't be very strong. I think mine has 4400kg of clamping pressure or something rediculous like that. Or maybe that's 4400 pounds. = 2000kg? Not sure. You are all blessed with my informative post... not.
  2. I've got a 33GTR clutch in my GTT and while it's fine to drive I am getting one of these anyway. Bit lighter can't hurt. I would say mine took 300kms. If I had my time again, I'd install it, go out for a drive for about an hour two giving it a bunch of medium street tyre launches and call it done.
  3. You're too far away and it's a school day. Still, if it was me I could do it on my own cos I am super tough.
  4. PM's coming to all entrants regarding licences etc.
  5. I'm actually considering going for 19's because the R34 seems to have bigger guards to fill out than R33's. I've had some 18x10.5" rims on the rear of my car that came off some unknown vehicle and surprisingly they fit fine and didn't rub, even around Oran Park GP circuit. I think they only had 270 tyres on them though and my car isn't stupidly low.
  6. Fair bit of info in here - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...54&hl=shift
  7. If that doesn't work, try taking it out to dinner first. That sometimes loosens them up.
  8. Well since I lost my lock nut key thingy on the weekend I'll be running on newish streeters. I expect they will still be fine to drive on afterwards even with some sideways action. I think the key is that unlike a track day, you are not out there for long enough on each run to overheat the tyres which is when most of the wear occurs.
  9. Looks pretty huge.
  10. POWAH!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  11. I don't mind the kit but I don't like the rims at all. Black with white works fine but not the style. BTW My rims are quite similar and I don't like them either. I am going to keep my car for a long time I think. If I were in the market to buy it would be because my car was stolen/written off or whatever. I would definitely be buying a top end example with shitloads of mods. It's much cheaper than doing it yourself.
  12. But those people wont be able to get rid of the cars they have. I was expecting these to cost much more, like over $200k.
  13. Go liz.
  14. A 1mm head gasket should give 8.5:1 CR as that is stock. I would repeat that if I was you. I had much discussion and head scratching about CR in my RB25 and ended up with 8.75:1 but if you are building an engine I can't see why you would use the headgasket to determine the CR. Use the pistons, block and head machining so you maintain proper quench and squish zones. I love the off boost response (not too much different from the 9:1 standard on RB25) and wouldn't wouldn't want to go much lower due to piggish response or much higher due to harder to tune and got to keep a closer eye on things.
  15. And they probably wont punt each other if they are on the same team.
  16. Nice one. Go the 1.6 60 footer!
  17. Most of them sleep 6 or more but I think people should get together in groups of 4 or so and book a cabin per group.
  18. http://www.nswbar.asn.au/circulars/bocsar.pdf Some of the figures are interesting. I can see why my insurance went up moving from Ryde to Sutherland. I can see why it would go up again if I moved to Bankstown.
  19. And a car is not an investment. You always lose money unless you got a great deal when you bought it.
  20. I don't see how a wacky colour would help resale, probably make it worse if anything. I thought black always held its value pretty well. I fell in love with the white R33's yonks ago but there are just so damn many of them out there now. I actually went out to buy one and ended up with the R34, in white. Well at least it's pearl white.
  21. Shit luck mate.
