  1. You'll get at least another 3 months. www.rta.nsw.gov.au
  2. Not counting rbt I have been pulled over three times in 3.5 years in the Skyline. Once mid arvo near Goulburn and I'm pretty sure he just wanted to have a look at the car cos he'd never seen a 4 door R34 before which was just after I got it and the second was same time when I left the lights with a little too much exuberance, third at night for the same reason. No tickets any time.
  3. It's kind of funny to hear you guys say it's easy because up until now experienced people haven't been willing to touch it and the inexperienced have just not been able to get it to work.
  4. Check your timing.
  5. I don't think 100 is too hot. 130 is too hot. Keep it in for the reason you have heard. This has been known for decades but I have tested this personally. A 16" fan will pull more air than two 12" ones and only a little less than two 14" ones (which you wont get to fit in a skyline anyway). This is a fact. Davies Craig used to have a nice table on their website which proved this for me but they have changed things around since I was last there and I can't see it anymore. I don't understand how a low temp thermostat will change anything other than what temp it opens. The maximum temp will be the same no matter what temp the thermostat is set to. The only thing it would do is soften the ramp rate of the temp because the radiator will be brought into the loop earlier. I use a JJ radiator and I have been on the track with my 270rwkw on mid 30's day with no probs. I know of one race car using one but it's not a Skyline. I have had troubles with leaking around the cap but for the price who can argue. It's the best cheap thing I ever bought for my car. I am also wondering what oil cooler you are using because the solution to your problem may well lie there.
  6. Try to generally keep it under 100C but can over to no more than 130 as long as you change the fluid not long after.
  7. It's already in hand guys. Watch this space!
  8. Here it is. It looks like the circlip that goes on the half shaft has been left out. Need to remove the half shaft and put one on then shove it back in and bob's your uncle.
  9. My r34 box has a selector issue in that sometimes when rushing from 4th to 5th I put it in no mans land between 3rd and 5th gears and it crunches. I know of other R34 boxes that do this too.
  10. There is a difference between lightening a standard flywheel by machining it and machining the flywheel to get the surface perfectly flat. The first is no good imo, the second is standard practice.
  11. Recent work in that area suggests you go back to workshop for a checkup. pm sent.
  12. Risking, I reckon there is money to be made there. As mentioned above, GTR boxes are dirt cheap and GTST boxes are getting hard to find I've been told. I guess this only helps where you have a dead r33 box though and doesn't address the shortage of r33 boxes. Uras, in a bigger car with stock handbrake setup (eg R33gtst) would you think the modded GTR box will fit? Also I remember reading about your car in HPI I think where you said you thought the R34 box was stronger than the R33 one (pretty sure it was you). What makes you think that? What are the subtle differences you talk of? I'm certainly no expert so I'm not being a smart arse with these questions. The only thing I've noticed from the outside is the R34 box is much lighter as the casing is made with much more aluminium in the alloy. The down side is that it's very soft and easy to thread the bell housing bolts.
  13. Yeah Keas in Melbourne is the right place but I would recommend you get a valve body upgrade from MV Automatics in Adelaide then get any old auto transmission place to put it in for you. Mike is head and shoulders above anyone else in Aus when it comes to Jatco trans. Also I strongly recommend you get a trans fluid temp gauge in your car. It's well worth knowing what temp it's running at and would have saved me a full rebuild if I had one before I killed mine.
  14. This isn't going to be a direct answer but, if you are honest about what you intend to do with the car when you talk to him you can trust whatever he recommends.
  15. Nice one man. Congrats. Did you use the hire bike?
  16. It's not like people are going to miss your car filo. Dunno what you guys discussed and happy to fit in but it seems to make sense to line them up in model order.

    Again

Yeah I remember when he did that, I was there. I've now done the same thing. I put a full GTR rear end in so I was curious if he had to as well.
  18. I'm more like 7:30-8pm arrival anyway.
  19. So we are arriving on the friday right? From 2pm did I hear? Til when?
  20. I got you something. Here it comes -->

    Again

I like the catch can. Is it custom or off the shelf? Also, what diff are you using? Cheers.
  22. Haha, that's funny. I've always thought that it was a bit disingenuous to claim that a 13B is a 1.3L and a 20B a 2L. I say there are 3 chambers in each rotor, not 1, so a 13B is 3.9L and a 20B is 6L. Power output seems to be more commensurate with this theory but the rotary still has the weight and physical dimensions advantage when compared to other engines of the same size.

  24. They're looking for me... I haven't seen any of them though.
