  1. I've always wondered and now I know. Also in reply to someone posting up there about old mate. Ask Shane how much it cost him to run 10's. A lot more than you think. Although, I think he got high 11's cheaply.
  2. Yeah 10-15rwkw. Stock front and dumps are crap. You'll get another 5-10rwkw from that but free up the top 1500rpm nicely.
  3. It is programmable if you install a daughter board.
  4. Firstly, why do you think you need a rebuild? Second, I think 3 weeks drive in drive out is reasonable. Shorter is possible but you would have to ask the workshop involved.
  5. I know what you mean. I guess I was basically after a price list but I didn't want to give them my engine to get one. Other places were happy to provide one and then once the job was commenced we were able to look back at the quote and go, 'ok this bit and that bit are unnecessary but this bit still is and so is this'. As it happened there were a few things that weren't necessary to do on mine and I ended up getting some extra machining done to the head and still came in under the quoted price which was quite reasonable in the first place. I mean I'm not an expert in engine building or I would have done it myself but I know a fair bit and I'm not an idiot. Nor do I expect anything unreasonable from businesses. If there is a next time I will pull the engine apart before asking for quotes. If you are careful with your labelling you can take pics and ask on here what's wrong, then when asking for a quote you can get a pretty good idea. One thing you can't do at home is pressure test the valves. I don't know what the proper way to refer to it is but basically they are testing how well your valves seal. If good, leave the head alone, if not, recondition it. I don't mean to say that either DART or JB are crap. Far from it but I'm just saying that they might not suit you depending on what you are doing exactly and what you expect.
  6. I think the cars will find their way to another country, probably the middle east somewhere.
  7. They wouldn't give a price of any kind until I delivered the engine to them so I didn't go there. I found it quite strange. I also felt that DART were only interested in full house type rebuilds. They were not interested in what I wanted from the engine. They basically said they build it their way and that's that. I tried heaps of places in Sydney and while a lot if not all of them would build a good engine, I never felt from what they said that I could trust them so I ended up going to proengines in Queanbeyan.
  8. What kind of a rebuild are you talking about? Ie power target etc.
  9. satanic has one for sale I think. pm him.
  10. I laughed the year that the smoke from the fireworks completely covered kiribilli. I still haven't decided. I think I was in Balmain last year. Was ok except for people who can't handle their shit.
  11. Well panel beater yes. I'd be going to see Louie at XClusive Colours.
  12. Yes smash repairers fix rust. You can also do it yourself but it's hard work. Depends how bad it is and also whereabouts it is.
  13. My car has 260 rwkw and by planting it in 2nd gear unless the road is slippery or bumpy I will not fry the tyres. It just grips. Also I drove Shonen's R34 with 290rwkw on friday and it grips in 2nd the same way. Obviously I can fry the tyres on both if I want to but it doesn't happen by accident in a straight line on a good road.
  14. In the NEO the exhaust ports are bigger than RB26 ones and the rods are the same as RB26.
  15. Either is fine. Don't understand your first question. Second one yes you can. You fill out a form and pay the money.
  16. Is that in 2nd gear?
  17. This was all I was thinking too.
  18. I'll bring some race tape.
  19. Haha, yeah sorry for the O/T. To clarify a couple of things. I use an R34 GTR pump which I don't think is quite the same as using one from an R32. Also, by shitter and shitter I mean that I've noticed lately on the forums in an increase in the amount of bosch fuel pumps failing. This has coincided with them becoming more readily available and also cheaper. Maybe they are copies. Maybe bosch are manufacturing them somewhere else now so they are genuine but not as good as they used to be. I don't know. I certainly don't mean that paying more for the same pump makes it more reliable.
  20. The powersteering leak is annoying isn't it. I am going to have a good look at that system one of these days.

I'm thinking american prison guard... I'll take a final pic tonight.
  22. Especially with only 100awkw and a Duncan behind the wheel.
  23. I've been offered GTR boxes for $800. Is it impossible to get the angle grinder out and cut sick? I've never looked at one so may be completely off the planet here.
  24. I don't know why you keep upgrading. I've had great use out of your second hand cast offs sam.
  25. 4.089 for the auto R34 but R33 and R34 manuals are 4.111 Yeah I think comparing to your own previous runs is another great advantage of it. I don't think torque will ever get on there. We have asked for boost but that is down the track if at all.
