  1. Regarding this post; it was suspension components and yes it's a track GTR but not sure what other weight saving mods were done because I think there are some restrictions in the class they run in.
  2. I can't imagine that would last long.
  3. Yes from a shaky start it's done well. (the thread that is) I have to take a point with: "everyone I know that has put a front mount on their car has noticed a massive increase in response." You can't be serious. Response is the one thing you lose with a front mount upgrade. I'm not talking about lag here. Also, the R34 sidemount is significantly bigger than the R33 one and until you've experienced it you wont understand. Plenty of things between R33 and R34 are practically the same but this is not one of them. As response is the subject of the thread I would strongly recommend keeping the stock cooler but would of course add the usual warnings about heat soak. You might find it worth while to have a temp probe, gauge and maybe a warning light for after cooler temp so that you can see when it has stopped being effective. Interesting to hear about the economy Scathing.
  4. http://www.tasman-series.com/misc/lostcirc.../schofields.asp I wonder who I would contact. Do you think the Dept of Defence still has control of it?
  5. You crack me up Dave.
  6. Surely it would be used fairly constantly? Because they charge a fair bit and it's not qite big enough for what we want to do.
  7. You might have the curse, check out benm's posts from his GTST days. He has the curse. I think I have it too but a slightly milder dose. Try 10psi next time because 12 might just be a bit too much for that turbo with your setup. 10psi might get rid of the surge which is definitely slowing you down and showing as low mph. I had surge on my stock turbo but blew it before I could figure out how to fix it.

    Booked

The other day I parked at a mall and out of the probably 10,000 parking spots, maybe 5 were filled. I wrestled with my own mind but eventually bypassed the 5 disabled parking spots and hit the next available normal one. I am completely conditioned not to use them. I guess I don't need the recall stabilisation after all. (1984 reference for those who don't recognise it) Also my Dad has the disabled sticker - with good reason - but sometimes he doesn't park there. He goes, "Oh there is probably someone more disabled than me."
  9. I think you've got the inlet and exhaust mixed up a little there man. The reason behind equal length runners on the exhaust side is that the pulses of exhaust gas coming from the cylinders will arrive in the order they leave the cylinders and not bump into each other. In theory, with non equal length the pulses run into each other and create unwanted turbulence. The story of the torque moving up or down the rev range is to do with short or long inlet runners. frintance, Rb25's have quite long runners under the plenum and if you put a gtr style one on (Greddy) you will lose some lo down torque but gain some up high. Some ford 6's (and plenty of other engines) have variable length inlet runners to get the best of both worlds.
  10. Thanks anyway Brad.
  11. Hmm, damn. I didn't want to remove the lines because those bloody copper washers are so hard to find and cos draining the fluids is a pain and adds to the cost. Oh well.
  12. I'm in. Yes we can do memberships on the day.
  13. I had mate. This is actually for a motorkhana/deca style day next year. So the reason we don't want any speed humps is because hitting them while sideways at 70km/h could be messy. Some good suggestions in here thanks guys.

    Movember

    Wow. Thanks man.
  15. Studs are all pretty new. Standard pipes.
  16. We are looking for a big empty carpark to run an event at next year. What's near you? It's gotta be big, empty (on sundays at least), not much in the way of trees and prettiness in the middle, no speed humps, fairly smooth surface. What's out there. There's gotta be plenty, I just don't know where they are.
  17. I just found Bankstown recently.
  18. It now looks like I have a leak in my exhaust manifold gasket. GRRR. So, does anyone think I can remove the manifold without taking the lines of the turbo? My plan was to: 1. undo cat at front 2. take off intake piping 3. unbolt turbo from manifold 4. Take manifold and shielding off, holding turbo in place 5. replace gasket What do you think?
  19. I called her and placed an order thanks mate. I referred to you by your real name not knowing that basically everyone knows you as kero. haha
  20. I had a very long convo with SK one day in the street about weight reduction (not talking about response here). Basically he had just spent 7 or 8 grand on some weight reduction to gain 0.2 seconds a lap on a racetrack. His opinion was that for sprints, fun, club days, street, etc, it was not in the slightest bit worth it but on a 20 lap race 0.2 per lap is 4 seconds and that might be enough to win it.
  21. I think it's separate for you. To my knowledge only R34 have them as one unit and even then not in all models (but in all GTT's).
  22. Sorry your mum died. Here's a dozen red roses! hehe
  23. For sure. Graph yours against the other stock ones there.
  24. I'm not really looking for a recommendation, more I have money that will be spent at a florist so seeing if a fellow SAU member could benefit somehow.
  25. I'd do Wollongong but it's too far for most. My suggestion is Thursday 30th. Slide will be down. Will Col-GTSX still be here? I will come. There is a good pizza and pasta place near me in Sutherland, plenty of parking...
